Bought the valentine's cake for birthday, a 5inch $42 lovely cute bear peach flavour cake. There's nothing we like about the cake except the cake itself is light and fluffy. The flavour is weird and not much cream. The white chocolate biryhday plate and brown chocolate bear is of low quality. My daughter ask if they have expired... Was also… Read more

charged card fee, only rwalised when i checked bank statement. Staff did not advise card fee and i didnt notice anything about card fee at the counter too. What a shame, my confidence in their cake is shaken now

Very disappointing experience at BreadTop Castle Hill today. When I tried to pay by card, the cashier spoke to me rudely and said, “Why didn’t you tell me you were going to pay by card in the very beginning?” I explained that it is usually the staff’s role to ask about payment method, but she insisted it was my responsibility. She then said,… Read more

“Many people are waiting,” which made me feel rushed and embarrassed in front of other customers. When I told her that her behaviour was not professional, she repeatedly told me to “go complain.” When I asked for her name, she said it was Vickie and again told me to complain.

The lady at the counter dropped my bread on the counter and still tried to serve it to me as if nothing happened. That’s completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Food should be handled with care and respect, especially when served to customers. Won’t be coming back after this experience. Show details

I am extremely disappointed with the birthday cake I purchased for my brother's 60th birthday. To my surprise, the Black Forest Gateau 7” was overwhelmingly dominated by cream, with merely two thin layers of cake sandwiched in between. This made for a very poor experience on a significant milestone celebration. I urge Breadtop take this matter… Read more

seriously and review their standard of cakes, as this experience has made me hesitant to order them in the future.

I buy pastries and savories regularly from Breadtop at High Point in Melbourne. Today I was shocked to find one of the tuna and egg rolls was teeming with maggots. It was absolutely disgusting! I thought they baked their goods daily - apparently not. Show details

I experienced very poor service from a staff member who was unwilling to help. I purchased a birthday cake for my mother, who is diabetic, so I selected 8 slices of different cakes (equal in cost to a whole cake) to create a custom option for her. I requested a proper cake box, but the staff member refused and instead placed the slices in a… Read more

ripped, flimsy, oversized box. Even after over 10 minutes of discussion, she still did not provide the appropriate cake box.

I am a regular Breadtop customer and have always had positive experiences — this was the first time I encountered such disappointing service, and only at this west suburb location. This has never happened at any other Breadtop store.

Their savoury products are nice. However, their cakes have no flavour. I bought a piece of their rainbow cake and it was so bland, it tasted like it had no sugar at all. The cream was not sweetened and even the icing was tasteless. Not sure if this is purposely done to make their cakes healthier (less sugar) however it's basically like chewing on a piece of sponge. Show details

I am a regular at breadtop, their daily selection stuff is great but its my birthday and my partner bought me their fresh fruit cake (shaped like a white dog) and it was so tasteless, the cream was old and inside we found 6 small pieces of peach? Not too sure as it was dry and did not have any taste, it was some kind of orange fruit. I didnt say… Read more

anything and ate it anyway so my partner didnt get upset to have spent so much money on a bad cake, but i could tell by his face as he ate it he wasnt impressed either. Not great considering their daily selections are so flavorful

Twice charged for the one item. Refused refund – I had asked my son to pick up the cake, when he presented the receipt which was marked paid in full the staff member insisted that it was not paid for, my son knowing the cake was needed for a surprise 94th birthday party paid again in order to retrieve the cake in time for the party. The cake was ordered in person and paid for in full at the… Read more

Pacific Werribee store on 12November and paid for again on pick up 11.30am Sunday 24th. On Monday 25th I went to the Werribee shop in person hoping for a quick resolution. Despite showing the manageress the two separate transactions on my credit card statement I was told I could not prove there was a mistake on their part, they could not find records of the order or the pickup, she said that there was no cake picked up on the 24th of November and no cake made for order on November 24th. I asked them to find their original copy of the order from 12th November and was told that all that paperwork had been destroyed. She kept me waiting at the store for over 1 hour and all this time she was speaking to someone on the phone in Chinese and searching her computer for who knows what? I explained it was only $38.00 and if I was trying to be dishonest, I would be trying for a much higher dollar amount. The manageress would not refund me, accused me of buying two items of the same price; she had no record of the sale. After over an hour of waiting for her, I left them with my mobile number feeling very angry and determined to report them all. When I arrived home the manageress rang me and said she had found the record of order and sale and admitted to their mistake. During the phone conversation she started speaking in Mandarin; I asked her to please speak English. She replied that she had every right to speak Mandarin and that I had to respect her culture. I made sure the refund had gone through successfully and then I let her have it regarding her statement I reminded her that she was in Australia and that she should respect the Australian way, we are an English-speaking country etc, etc, my responses just seemed to fall on deaf and dumb ears. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE, YOU WILL NOT BE TREATED AS A CUSTOMER, YOU WILL BE TREATED WITH DISREPECT.

Don’t buy a cake from Breadtop – I liked some of their Japanese sponge rolls so decided to buy a cake for my son’s 1st birthday, the description said sponge and cream. I kid you not it was almost entirely just cream (and not even fresh cream just the gross hard fake cream). Not one person at the birthday could eat the cake, not even one piece. Breadtop refused to give me my money… Read more

back which was $90 for the cake, despite me sending pictures to them of the 90 percent cream. They didn’t even care that they ruined his birthday cake. This was Shanna at the Brisbane office. Never buy a birthday cake from Breadtop.

Delicious Cakes and Pastries – I ordered 2 novelty birthday cakes, shaped like puppies. They were amazing, looked exactly like the display and tasted delicious. A huge hit for Mum's 95th birthday where we had family from 3 years old upto Mum at 95. Everyone was very complimentary and there was nothing left but crumbs. Will definitely go back.
