Unreliable – When this works, it’s great. We have had it for 7 years but I can’t remember a year when we have not needed something fixed. Very disappointing. So far, it has needed two new solenoids and a new (expensive) dump valve. Now, the week before Christmas, it’s down again. Our plumber spent the best part of a full day working on it. He finally got it… Read more
going, but as he left, he said that he couldn’t promise how long it would go. Now - Christmas Eve - it’s pumping uncooled air again! Sick of spending money on this. Will be looking to replace with a different brand. Shouldn’t have to do this after 7 years,
Worked week until motor and board became faulty – Purchased approx 7 yrs ago worked fine until 3 weeks ago when fan stopped electrician found faulty board and motor at same time price to fix is $1700 expensive to fix to Install complete new unit $3200 weighing up whether to purchase a different brand if this is what happens every 7 yrs.Why would both go at same time is that how they are setup to make customer pay big money on repairs after warranty Show details
Unit has died after 7 years – We have been happy with the performance of our EXH170 since it was installed 7 years ago, but are disappointed, that in spite of having it serviced and the pads renewed just over 12 months ago, it failed to fire up when we turned it on at the commencement of our current heatwave. We duly contacted a local company who charged us $150 + GST to tell… Read more
us that he 'thought' the problem was most likely the PCB but there was no guarantee and advised that there may well be further faults! We have just received his quote for $2358.50 for removal and replacement of the PCB and the supply and installation of a new fan motor. Is this a realistic quote? Our only income is our age pension and we simply cannot afford to pay this sort of money, only to find that it is still not working. We are currently leaning towards paying a bit extra and replacing it with a cheaper brand. Are you able to advise whether the quote we have is a realistic one, or, should we shop around for a better price? My concern in doing that is that each time someone looks at it, we will have to pay yet another call-out fee, and we simply can't afford to do that. Please advise. Thanks, Sue
Terrible company – I have to say that I don't own this product. I wouldn't buy anything from this company even if they had sold it for a dollar. The company that treats workers like slaves from the American South in 19 century.
Control Box faulty – This unit is rubbish over the three years in the house we have used the cooler maybe for 2 months out of that time. Now the Control box is no good and needs replacing. The Sealy representative told us that the unit itself is not worth repairing as a new control box would cost $600 and we would have to replace the pads so buy a new system. After… Read more
paying a $245 service fee to be told that it would be better to replace the unit. The unit has hardly been used, it would be similar to owning a car for 5 years and only doing 10 000kms but then being told the car is no longer any good and should be replaced. This would never be acceptable. Look for a cheap unit and replace every 5 years it would cost less than buying a Breezair overpriced underperforming unit.
Dodgy electrical components – Had a exh150 installed in Dec 2013 and it died in Nov 2019.Absolute crap circuitry in these series.Their old models may have worked for decades but their new technology is rubbish. Show details

Breezair evaporative cooler EH 170 / 150 – I bought Breazair EXH170 from Rite Price. Immediately expired of warranty, it went down. Remote and electronic box in the machine do not communicate. In have to replace with new one but surely not the same product. I have to install other brand. I suffered last after warranty is expired. Show details

I wish i have research it before I purchase it – Had a Breezair installed in 1986 and its lasted 30 years YES 30! Its the old style one, which i cleaned it myself and easy to fix...long story short...busted and replaced with 2 new Breezair EH150 and 170 5 years ago and 2 months and now its dead! Clever researchers....2 months out of warranty! Hoping they ll overlooks the 2 months but alas! I… Read more
bet the person i was talking too is doing hand gestures like YEEESSSSS sorry consumers....you are 60 days out and I want your call out fee if $110 to come and tell you you’re a sucker! And we Mr Seeley wants more money from you! I wish i have bought the older type which they still using for industrial type which they dint want to....instead this fancy all automatic type....btw also u installed the 150 which still running....but the last few days give sign its dying also...instead of instant ON (a few seconds) now takes 1-2 minutes to start blowing! The 170 has been like this since installed in 2016....
[name removed] from QualityAir came and took less than 1/2 to fix the problems...seems like its the usual problems that Seeley knew and like everything else problems always happened after a day after its expired just like mine...2 months after...its where they make their money...$650 boom!
[name removed] is a great guy his company installed it very professionally 5 years ago BUT its the product itself that buggered! Would I recommend Breezair? Maybe yes BUT Seeley must have a bit if leeway in their Warranty issue....especially the last 2-3 years the weather wasnt that hot and didnt use it much imagine if its has been use a full 6 months in a year...We ll have to replace the LEXTRONIX CONTROL BOX 110554 within 2 years
Reason Selley didn’t give a damn is coz if 10000 consumers bought an EH 170 and only a 100 complaint they still have 9900 idiots who will buy Breezair. in this case only 24 reviews so Selley dont care about us! Not even an acknowledgement in these reviews.... at least they discontinued this model now.
Terrible – Lasted 3 months. Blew up and showered the house with shards of plastic. Yet to have it fixed but cant be good. Will see what the techs say. 35 degrees in bedroom at 9pm would be nice to enjoy our air con. Sounds like no one has had much luck with these systems Show details
Sounds like the Breezair EXH170 is just as bad as the EHX190 Model – Well I have decided to change my Breezair EHX190 with a different make rather than try and get it fixed. It was great of Seeley International getting back to me and explaining why they sold me a piece of junk. After talking to technicians they have all told me that these model evaperative coolers are absolutly useless unrealiable and expensive to… Read more
repair hence my decision to use another make. Well Mr Seeley I will never buy one of your products again and I hope many other people will take my advice and steer clear of worthless products.
Worst ever – as i have ceiling fans the thing never / rarely runs, lucky to run 10 hours a year Have had a fan motor burn out, then a cct board fail, now something has failed again Will not get it fixed, instead will throw it away & get another brand BUYER BEWARE IF YOU BUY ONE OF THESE PIECES OF JUNK Show details
Love it – We have had the EVH170 for 6 years. We live in California and run it from June to October. The only time it doesn't cool is when the humidity is above 40%. We have to replace the pads and belt this year. We have had a part freeze in the winter, so now we remove that every year before it freezes. Otherwise, it has been the best evaporative cooler we have ever owned. Show details
Breezeair EZH170 – Bought our Evaporate cooler in 2008, we live in Melbourne so use age is low. Three week out of Christmas 2016 the unit stopped working. Motor gone just off the warranty – Our experience exactly same - rubbish. We live in Melbourne and are on holidays away in January or February so didnt run it all that much. Ours was gone in Christmas Eve as well. We were told the motor is burned and the replacement is $1200-1600, and the board is about $1500 is on top of that. Don't buy any of these breezeair! Worth a miss – We have just bought this system, and this is our our first summer using it. It doesn't even come close to cooling our house and, in fact, it is colder to just have it off. and they told us that it doesn't work at all in hot weather, then told us it will probably cost us $140 to fix. It is safe to say that this is not worth your money, and should definitely be avoided purchasing.
rubish, rubish, rubish – Breezair,is rubish, nothing but problems, since we got it 2005,costly repairs, every year, motors, pumps, solinoids, control box, this company should be banned from selling people expencive RUBISH...DONT BUY BREEZAIR.we could of bought a refrigerated unit 2x over DONT BUY BREEZAIR,they dont care once they got your money,i will be reporting them to consumer affairs,90% of reviews are terrible.RUBISH Show details
Cheap but nasty – Had mine fitted in Dec 2004, 3 motors and 2 control boards while under 5 year warranty, pump became jammed and it overflowed for a whole winter, wasn't noticed as it wasn't being used, full service and pads after recommended time, 1 new control board and 3 new motors since then, now needs a new motor, time to get rid of what is a very good air conditioner when working correctly, estimate I have spent over $5000 on it in the last 7 years! don't buy it,waste of money – Had breezair evaporative cooler for 2 years ,rarely used it and it is completely gone.Warranty service provider Seeley International were absolutely useless.Customer service in Australia was rude and unresponsive .It takes between 1 to 2 weeks to get somebody to fix it.It seems to me all good reviews about this product were written by sales people.DON'T BY IT!
Expensive to repair, design flaw, Seeley unresponsive – Had our Icon EXH170 for 4 years when motor controller died. Replacement is $843 (US) just for the part. After replacement I found out the power IC's where attached to the heat sink with binder clips. This is a cheap way to attach chips that will crack it over time. Great Unit – Live in Perth, typically hot dry summers but recent 2 years have been relatively humid and this unit (EXH150) still works very well. install. Go with a reputable installer that you can call back if any issues Don't go the cheapest (you get what you pay for!)
Unreliable – We live in a remote arid area, ideal for evaporative A/C, but with limited choice. We installed a ducted Breezair in 1994 as the only brand available. It continued to have operational problems, particularly breaking belts, frying the electrical components, leaking etc. We have burnt out 3 motors, then it was replaced with an EXH210 which has… Read more
continued to give similar problems (it is belt-less though), then replaced with the next model. It was very difficult to get the dealer out to look at it. Last time he did, he sold us a reverse cycle split system to tide us over for when our Breezair would fail again (he charged $6,500 and only half installed it!) Our last episode was 3 years not working. Calls were not responded to, although he did call around to try to sell us Solar and get some free professional advice from us, with a promise to come back. We gave up and got a young electrician. He had it going in half an hour. It then failed about a month later, the part will cost $800, we are now wondering if it is worth replacing. We had an extended warranty, but the wait for the dealer meant it ran out. We regularly serviced it even when it wasn't working - the dust builds up during droughts. Sometimes the fan would ramp up unexpectedly which was annoying, but you could manually turn it down, usually happened at night. There is a flap that comes up when the motor starts, it didn't and the motor burnt out, so we wired it up because the dealer didn't fix it. We think this might have accounted for a couple of our motor burn outs. It got awfully cold inside when it was zero outside until we remembered - then I wrapped the whole unit in a couple of rolls of Gladwrap. I must say that when it was working, it was brilliant; quiet, odourless, cool and economical.

25 Years and My breezair is still running – I have had a breezair for a very long time and it has barely missed a beat. I pay to get my unit serviced and looked after every year (like they are suppose to)i couldnt speak more highly of the unit and the team who installed it and continue to service it for me. From what i have heard breezair units last alot longer then Bonaire or Brivis units.
Breezeair EXH210 – Had a similar problem, motor dont work after 6years.New replacement motor only have 12months warranty(too short) considering the actual usage on unit is only 3 to 6 months a year. A new complete unit, obviously a new motor has a 7 year warranty. I think the manufacturer themselves have no confidence in their replacement parts. So, should you spent… Read more
a couple of hundreds dollars on a major component that might become an issue when the warranty expired in 12 months? No good for consumers confidence.
I am surprised by these reviews? – I currently live in Adelaide and we had a 'Breezair' (Harmony Range) evaporative air conditioner installed into our home some 15 years ago. and tear. I get up on the roof myself each spring/summer to clean the unit/tank and flush the filter pads and also add about 20 mls of antiseptic to the tank on initial start up. Apart from that, it has been one of the most reliable, efficient and cost effective products that I have ever purchased. I am currently in the 'planning phase' to build another home and I even changed builders because they buy/install 'Breezair' units. In case you were wondering, I am also going with the the 'Braemar' super six ducted gas heating for the heating. I have never tried or used this product before, but it is also manufactured by 'Seeley' who make 'Breezair' so will give it a go. So if your decision is based on previous reviews of this product, I suggest that you speak to your friends, family or even your neighbors that have one of these units installed to find out what they think. You might be surprised by the results, I still am!! ***Okay, I just had to replace the cistern and float today 19/01/16 and she is running beautifully again. By the way, I noticed someone else saying that these good reviews are from sales people? Mate, I can tell u 'straight up' that I have never worked for 'Seeley' or any other supplier/distributor of their products and before you go there, neither has anyone else in my family!
Breezair Motor died after less than 6 years – Lots of promises and praises by both the installer and the manufacturer, but when my Breezair Motor died after less than 6 years none of them cared and did not want to know about it and didn't bother to respond to my emails. Some of these installer are just after your money and once got it and the unit is installed they don't want to hear from you. Poor Quality Parts
Bathroom roof collapsed – Like others, went the "expensive" version, 1st service they forgot to turn the water valve back on, 2nd service poured that much chlorine in I felt it unsafe for our child to be in the house. install, water poured from the top of the unit, past the "waterproof" membrane and caused our bathroom ceiling to collapse. 1 week later, float fixed cooler finally operates again, roof still has large hole with what seems like mould now taking over, still waiting for roof repairs and structural inspection to see what further damage has been done. Buy refrigerated is my advice. Ducted and quiet Poor installation, poor service, rude staff when problem arose, delays in repairs
Cost to repair; right over the top! – This summer the unit would not turn on; got a repair quote from local supplier - $1,400 to replace fan motor and control board; after a few short years operation! Apparently caused by the manufacturer charging big dollars for the replacement modules. Some local companies who I called have given up on Seeley (the South Australian manufacturer)… Read more
who charge heavy prices for the repair parts perhaps in the mistaken belief that, rather than repair, people will invest in a new one. Well, they are badly mistaken as I would now not touch their products with a barge pole; and am now an advocate against their products and flawed business model; will tell all I know how disappointed and unhappy I am to be ripped off by this Australian manufacturer who does not respect his customers and seems intent on ruining his company's integrity and reputation. And we wonder why local manufacturers go to the wall! Great product while it was working. Not reliable and cost to repair is off the scale; they seem intent on trashing their product's reputation.

Waste of money! – We purchased our new Breezair in 2010 after replacing a older Breezair unit. Biggest Mistake! From simply not turning on, to strange clunking noises, it's been a hassle and inconvenience. … Read more
Don't be fooled by thinking you will have fresh clean alpine air. Being an evaporative system, your home will smell like whatever is floating around outside. From Bush fires, BBQ's, Car fumes, the next door neighbor painting his fence! Not to mention it doesn't work well in humidty.
If I had my choice over again, I would look further into purchasing a refrigerated system.
There is nothing worse than feeling hot, and bothered because the air conditioner you have purchased doesn't do what it's suppose to. The price compared to refrigerated. Constant breakdowns and being an evaporative system you never really get cold air. Terrible in humidty..
Expensive to service – I purchased my Breezair Evaporative Air Cooler 12 years ago. My unit has been very reliable over the years. My Breezair unit is installed above my bedroom and I do not notice the noise from the motor when it is running. … Read more
The downside to this unit is that a door or window must be partially opened for the unit to operate correctly. This may be a security concern for homes without quality security screens fitted. Another downside to this product is the annual cost of servicing the unit. Even if you are a handyman and can service the unit yourself you must purchase the replacement cardboard filters that are priced from $140 set. In recent years the cost of the water used to run this unit is also a concern. Reliable and quiet Expensive to service
