Breville BodyZone Connect Quilted Fitted Heated Blanket
Verified3 reviews
Ordered and received advertised electric blanket that can connect to wifi and app. After many attempts couldn’t download the correct app in fact it was not available. After many days they said wifi not available in Australia. I complained they are advertising and selling products that don’t work as advertised. They refuse to answer or offer any help
Potentially wonderful product flawed by poor iOS App – Electric blanket is absolutely superb. Great Breville quality and it works so well. I'm giving it a 2 star rating purely for the fact that the Wi-Fi version purchased is let down by a terrible App. The set-up procedure is marred by a bug which I only discovered trying an Android phone to setup rather than iOS. On setup, the user name cannot be an email! If you attempt to setup using an email address, you get a password warning advising that password must be 8 characters or more. Even if you have 8 characters, you can't signup if you've used an email address. Also, even when you have setup an account, on iOS anyway, the App doesn't display correctly on an iPhone 8/SE2 or XS. The virtual remote control shown is cropped so that the sliding switch at the very bottom is obscured. An iOS update (1.2.4) released 16.08.2021 and supposed to correct certain bugs, does not fundamentally alter anything. The App only displays correctly using an iPad. Breville, please fix all of this and I'll give you 5 stars.
Purchased in at Myer Online Store for $263.20.
WiFi Features are Almost Useless – I will say up front the blanket itself is not that bad, had it for a few weeks now, its warm, easy to use manually and for most part comfortable, but for the WiFi, really what you expect from Breville and SMART devices in general, it misses the mark greatly, and customer support don't seem too phased about it. The Good: -The warmth levels, at least for myself -The quilted cover is comfortable -The App works just enough to use, sometimes -3 year warranty
The Average: -The controllers are massive and cables are too thick -The cable connection intrudes into the bed itself too much, you sleep on it and hurts if in wrong position. -For the price, its not worth it, expected way more of a Breville product. Ditch the WiFi version.
The Bad: -The App is buggy, not point listing everything wrong and support say 'well it works ok on Android'. No updates for long time and simple things suggest app is getting no attention. (iPhone 12). Just random issues and bugs. -No SMART features like Google Home, or such that you can do with other home automation apps. -I spent 4+ hours trying to get the controllers to connect and in end worked it out on my own by powering the units off and on till they connected.
Overall, we are still considering if to return this and get the model minus the WiFi, considering we paid $300 thinking we could use with Google or automated services yet we cannot.
