Great, but non stick insert fails/scratches just cleaning it with a nylon brush
Had this cooker for a while. Used it for rice cooking more than anything else.
After a while the insert started to show scratches just cleaning it with a nylon brush.
Just phoned up Breville, a new one costs $159 and a replacement liner is over $60. Said I would go look for one that has a more heavy duty non stick liner or ceramic.
Unfortunately in the shops most have a complex interface, I have enjoyed this ones simplicity.
Purchased at The Good Guys for $180.

Great (except as a pressure cooker). Unreliable.
Has 236 functions so you can sear, steam, sauté, slow cook and seltzer the shirt out of your stuff- right up to the point where you want to actually pressure cook something. The success rate of the unit's lid attaining the critical "locked" status necessary to pressure cook is lower than a boomer's kill rate on Fortnite. Chuck in a respawn time of 25 minutes to get another shot at 60kpa and you can see how this machine is a real killer.
We are on our second unit after Breville sent us a replacement and it's got the same issue after a couple of...
Read more months: the seal ring has expanded or stretched so is too large to fit tightly back into the lid and the unit struggles to seal. All the other 235 cooking functions are great but the primary purpose as a pressure cooker is an abject failure. One positive is the removable silicone seal that is super convenient to take out and wash off your semi-cooked meals after as many failed attempts as you can bear trying to get the lid to seal. Great birthday present for someone you dislike (think evil mother in law) or wedding gift for the couple who you think weren't going to last anyway. What better way to mess with their head than give them essentially a gamble as to whether they will get dinner or a complete waste of time, effort and produce.Purchased in .

Versatile product
I’ve been using regularly and have not been disappointed. Great sautee feature, pressure cooking is good alternative to slow cooking as so much faster . I also use it boil rice, pasta, legumes. I use weekly in winter to make soups and have been happy with the result. I like that the lid comes off completely unlike the Tefal cook in one. Only downside is it takes a while to reach pressure to start actually cooking, approx 10 minutes so need to factor in this time.

Great until it stops working
Was really happy with this, but after about a dozen times using it now it fails to pressurise about 75% of the time and I only find out at the end when no pressure releases and food isn’t cooked. Very frustrating when you need to get dinner on the table. I purchased an Instant Pot to replace it - it is so much easier to use than the Breville.

Best and worse device
First time using it very happy. Second time the seal didn’t work and I couldn’t use the pressure function, when I had people over to cook for. Disappointing, it is going back and am going to buy another product.

Kaboom. Doesn’t seal properly, and exploded once
Frequently had seal issues. Cleaned seal thoroughly and carefully fitted lid.
Frequently loses pressure through the seal. Had it cooking once when the seal exploded spewing boiling liquid all over the wall. Fortunately it blew out the back towards the splash back not forwards where we would have been scolded.
So we are buying a brand new cooker, of another brand.

Wouldn’t buy again
I only ever used this appliance in the sear and pressure modes.
The capacity was enough to cook a meal with left overs for my family of 2 adults and 5 children.
The product did retain the smell of meat but it didn’t really affect the use. Also it was hard to get the food reside out of the grove in the top.
I loved the cooker and used it a lot and when it worked, it was great.
Just out of the 12 month warranty, it ceased working properly and never reached pressure. This ruined a $30 piece of roast beef I was cooking at the time and left me scr...

Good until it died - Dreaded E2 error
The product itself is good when it works. Option to saute, slow cook and pressure cook. 6l capcity of bowl is plenty for a big curry, stew that would feed 6 - 8 people.
Was a happy owner of mine until the unit displayed E2 error code which is the code for when the bowl is not sitting correctly in the unit. This error actually went off in the middle of a cook so I knew the bowl was sitting correctly. Nevertheless I turned off the unit and removed the bowl, checked the element switch etc 20+ times. It was broken.

Read moreelpful at all really. As my product was out of warranty they could not offer anything. Well actually they did offer me 40% off a new one however this was 40% of their RRP on their website which is significantly inflated compared to other retailers so not much of a discount at all, infact it would have resulted in me saving $16 to when I first bought it - big deal! So all in all buy with caution or try and get an extended warranty.Purchased in at The Good Guys for $135.20.

Very Useful
I have owned a FastSlow for 12 months. It is great. I cook a lot of soups and curries using a mix of pressure cooking and slow cooking meaning lots of flavour and keeps hot for eating at different times. Only difficulty is there is no temperature control on the sear feature.

Prefer an old-fashioned crockpot
Food comes out much more tastier using the slow cooker feature than the pressure cooker feature. Beef spare ribs using the pressure cooker function came out very chewy with not much taste.
In hindsight I should have just bought an old fashioned crock pot with a glass lid.

The best slow cooker I have
I've had this machine for years. I LOVE it. This slow cooker makes meat incredibly tender, never burns or undercooks and is very sturdy and of high quality.
I'm aware there was a recall on the seal, but my seal has worked faultlessly every time I've pressure cooked and I don't think mine was under recall. The lid can be a little annoying as it beeps at you when you take the lid off to look at slow cooked food.
But the flavour! Tender, tender meat! I always use utensils that won't scratch the non stick surface and it has lasted for years. No f...
Read morelaking or scratching at all. This does rice really well too but the slow cooker function (with sear capability) is incredible. Breville need to make this larger and flatter, like a frypan to do full steaks or big legs of lamb or big lamb shanks. If it was bigger, I'd cook everything in it. Also another idea is to have a big vegetable steamer basket that sits atop the meat if we just steak and veg separate,Purchased in .

Started out great
The first 4 times I used it I loved BUT then, the lid would not seal. Got a replacement but still had the same issue. Ended up returning it and getting a refund. Very disappointed

Pretty Good
I love the slow-cooker more than the pressure cooker. I've made several curries and other casserole type dishes, all of which turned out with delicious flavours and really, really tender, fall apart meat. I've only used the pressure cooker function twice, neither with very good results, but that's more than likely due to my inexperience. The beef casserole was quite chewy and the corned beef was not done in the middle. I've yet to find a recipe for corned beef that tells you how long to pressure cook it for.
The other thing that I'm not kee...

27mths old....after a great start....died...
Went alright to start so bought one for my Mother. She could never work the lid so that was a waste of time. The lid is very difficult.
Then the nonstick surface went crap after sbout 6 months...gradually becoming worse that it now attracks things. I wish they had a stainless uption. I would pay extra for SS
Now the unit wont detect lid secure so cannot steam or pressure cook so have to load it as if you are pressuring and then place on Sear.
Lookup its predecessors reviews (BPR200) a guy got told off for inspecting inside the lid and finding a part made to break. Thanks Breville for filling our rubbish skips!
Possibly dangerous but who would know as not covered in manual.

Questions & Answers
Hi,
I am getting error code e2, which relates to the bowl not being seated properly on the heating pad, but it is, tried turning it whole heating area is clean and debris free.
anyone else had this problem??
My cooker has been working fine for a long time. This morning it's not detecting the lid. You can use the saute function with a lid on which you are not supposed to be able to do. Just beeps with all the other functions. It was fine yesterday when I pressure cooked. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Why does this unit BPR650 completely power off?? Turned on to saute and it worked fine, switched to pressure cook, set unit, looked a couple minutes later and no power. No display at all. Unplugged, let it sit overnight and it was ok in the morning. Tried to use it again, same issue. Switched wall plugs and no power. This has only been used half a dozen times.
