lid flies off, won't freeze at all, too noisy – Can't believe I wasted $80 on this piece of crap. I decided to test it before I gave it to my niece this Christmas, SO glad I did! Doesn't freeze, it's so loud my ears are ringing and the lid doesn't fit on, let alone stay on when working! Do NOT buy this! I read a couple of bad reviews and thought, maybe they just did it wrong, because it seemed… Read more

some people had plenty of success.

I'll try again with coke, maybe it needed more sugar (hungry jacks is probably cheaper and better).

Don't waste your money folks! I'll probably give this away, if someone else wants to try and use it, good luck to them.

Lost all faith in Breville.

Extremely disappointing, waste of time & money – We used it a month after we purchased it. Followed the instructions, added more ice part way through & then the lid kept flying off! Spoke to Breville who put me in contact with a repairer. Now have to drive to the other side of Adelaide to get it repaired. Wish I had purchased a rice cooker instead with my Myer voucher instead of this waste of… Read more

time & money of a machine! Nothing! Waste of time, doesn't work, until you read the instructions you don't know that you have to leave it running for half an hour

Super yummy slushies :) – Love, love, love this machine. Yes, it is rather noisy but if you follow the instructions in around 20 minutes you have a wonderful, yummy slushie. Kids love it. Just make sure you have 2-3 I've cube trays for the slushie to be made. Well worth it. Super easy. Great for summer :) Taste just like a real slushie It's a tad on the noisy side Show reply

Bad Choice – No where does it mention it sounds like a blender for half an hour, so if you like the sound of a blender going for half an hour, good luck. All ice makers ive seen are not silent, but they just spin slowly in the background with a "whooshing" noise, which is bearable. I can make an icee in my blender in less than 1 minute! And it did not ice up at all after half an hour. Waste of money Noise noise noise

Epic design fail. Irritating noise – Very noisy. LIke a loud blender. Can't hear a conversation without shouting. Can't watch TV for 45 minutes while this unit is running. I did "noise and acoustic" subject in my degree, I reckon the noise would be around 70-80db. Not very comfortable to hear. Why 45 minutes? It takes 20-30 minutes to make the slushie. Then, a further 15 minutes… Read more

before ice cubes in the aluminium container is fully melted. After the first 30 minutes, I thought: " The slushie is ready. I'll switch the button from 'Mix' to 'Serve'. And the rotor should turn slower & quieter (like the ones I see at Hungry Jacks). I can enjoy a quiet drink now". Well, I was wrong! Pressing the button to 'Serve' only change the rotor direction to counterclockwise, and it still goes at the same speed and same loud blender noise. Although I wish the slushie maker can stay cold for longer than 15 minutes, I don't know if my family can stand the noise for longer than that.

Silly me thougt that the citrus juicer attachment is connected to the rotor. But it is not. If your family likes fresh orange juice, you would have to squeeze it manually, by hand. Considering the unit is quite tall, on top of an average kitchen bench, it is not very ergonomic (and also very tiring) to squeeze 10 oranges to make 1L of orange juice.

Lucky I have my beloved 4 years old Breville electric citrus juicer. I made the 1L of orange juice with this. The downsides are: 1) I have reduced space on the kitchen bench as I am now using 2 appliances. 2) Extra 6 parts that I need to wash, on top of the 8 parts from the slushie maker. 3) It is not convenient to make pure orange juice slushies (though it is convenient for people that likes to use bottled juices / soft drinks).

In all, it is too much hassle for me to make 1L of slushies (4 mugs and it's all finished). Especially as my fridge doesn't make ice cubes automatically.

I can't believe this product originally cost $99 (I got it for $49, on special), where a similar product from Mistral cost $39 without discount. It makes slushies Very noisy, operator will be subject to around 45 minutes of blender noise. Too much hassle for 1L of slushie drink that needs to be drunk within 15minutes

Waste of money – Not happy at all machine sounds like a blender and takes at least 30 mins of running time till it gets to slushy consistency. I don't know about anyone else but the sound is not one I want to hear for more then a few minutes at a time.. will be returning for a full refund too noisy

Easy, great performance! – I nearly didn't buy this after reading the reviews, but picked one up today from Myer on sale. I read the instructions, followed the directions and it works great! I did a frozen coke for my wife, and a creaming soda for myself with no problems. Yes, it does need some ice, but we have an ice machine in the fridge so all good there. It does need a… Read more

bit of salt, but salt is cheap. I don't know what others are doing wrong, but I just did what the instructions said to do and am very happy. I'll definitely recommend this to friends. Easy, looks like a quality build. A little noisy, but worth the result.

Absoloutely dissapointing – I bought this for my children for Christmas, thinking that by buying breville rather than a cheap one it would be quality. So dissapointing. We were expecting to be able to use it for drinks on Christmas day. The "blades" on the side of the ice canister do not work. We had store bought juice, and even added more sugar, only for the whole lid to… Read more

continually blow off and make a mess every where. The juice just freezes solid to the canister and builds up until the blades cannot scrape and the lid flies off and makes a huge mess. Nothing. It didnt work at all. Obviously not tested properly, just simply does not work,
