Perfect kitchen essential for more than a decade – Have it since 2008, still functioning but burnt smell comes up now so have to buy a new one. Will get the same one. Show details
Great for litttle jobs – Have had no motor or lid issues.....had it for about 18 months. I use it at least one a week to do dips, pesto, setting work fine. I get the big one out if I have the big jobs like chopping up large amount of Bread crumb or onions for a charity cookup. Am guessing some of the reviewes are overloading ...parts seperate and go straight in the diswasher for next time or flavor. Show details
Do not rate this – Tried on multiple occasions to click lid on and when successful machine occasionally does not work and makes a terrible noise. Yesterday tried to do some breadcrumb and no longer works and will do some homework for a new device.Have not had the machine for long and do not recoomend it. Show details

Bought as an after thought thinking I wouldn't use much but now easily my most used and favorite kitchen tool! – Bought something else (forgot what) still felt like... eh hmm... spending so bought this thinking I'd hardly ever use it. Now I love it so much it's the FIRST thing I've ever actively sought to review and probably my favorite kitchen tool. No, I'm not a Breville Rep. or, a 'serial reviewer' either. It takes me a whole 1 second to put the… Read more
lid on, so don't understand how it can be a problem for others. It's so quick and easy to use, clean & put away that I use it for even just 2 cloves garlic in a recipe. I love cooking from scratch and use lots of fresh herbs and garlic which is why I use it so often. I was thrilled when it ground up my linseeds for home made crackers. No more smelly garlic hands in just a few seconds all my herbs are perfectly chopped. I've had it a few years now with no problems at all and every time I use it I just love it, thinking about the pain of finely chopping herbs in the past. 5 stars and particularly recommend for someone who likes heaps fresh herbs etc, Deb.
Very dangerous – Perfomance of this machine is excelent for small amounts like chopping spices and mashing baby food. However it has a very dangerous, filthy, unhygenic, discusting and inexcusable design fault and deserves an urgent product safety recall being issued. The cutting head has hollow chambers between the 2 blades that fill up with liquid that cant be… Read more
removed by cleaning, the volume is between 2 and 5 mls at least.
We were very lucky not to get a sick baby or a whole family as this liquid seeps out very slowly as it starts to rot and the pressure makes it escape, inoculating the food with germs. Unless you cook everything staight after blending it you run the risk of salmonella, campylobactor, vibrio parahaemolyticus, or any other pathogenic food bourne microorganisms from previous proceedures inoculating you next batch of food.
For the sake of a few grams of plastic per blade head breville puts your whole family at risk of death and disease. In this day there is no excuse for such poor design. Anyone getting sick would probably be able to sue the manufacturer for this design fault and i hope this post goes viral and they dont make such a filthy blade head ever again. Purchased about january 2013 in brisbane australia. Good perfomance if you dont count the filth factor into the equation Very dangerouse. Can contaminate food due to hollow chambers between blades filling with germ infested rotting liqiud in the order of several mills
The right size for small jobs – We have the larger Breville processor which is great for large quantities. But it's just too big for many of the smaller mixing and chopping jobs needed for sauces, nuts, rock salt etc. Enter the Mini Wizz. It will process smaller quantites that I just wouldn't bother getting the big machine out to do. And it actually does a better job for… Read more
small items that would end up stuck to the sides of its bigger brother.
It is self contained and compact, so you can put it away in the cupboard in one piece, without the myriad of extra attachments to worry about. Clean-up is very easy, with just three "things" to wash. It even has a cord minder to keep your cupboard neat and save space. (I really hate trying to stuff loops of power cable into some sort of order when putting away kitchen appliances and power tools.)
It will chop, whisk and grind on three different settings. But with just the one conventional hi-low blade, it will not make nut butter. I blitzed up some home made tomato sauce to go with dinner last night that I only did because I had this little gem. It's cheap, well made and works a treat. Highly recommended. Compact. Chops, Whisks, Grinds. Only suitable for small quantities. Fill it with liquid and it spills out and down the sides.

better than expected – I needed a small processor for those times when I only want to make small quantities or chop a half an onion. First I made a salad dressing which this unit did very fast and very well. Today I chopped and onion with mixed results. The first half pureed, because I wasnt watching close enough. The second half was much better, I pulsed very briefly… Read more
and watched. It is quite powerful with 250watts. The expensive brand I was considering is 240 watts. It feels very solid for its compact size. The bowl and lid remove easy and a breeze to wash. The only thing I dont like is the clip which locks the lid, I feel it would be easy to break if not handled carefuly. Overall though, at $59 it does what it was designed to do and does it well.
Gets the job done! – Now I can mince onions without crying! :) This small machine grinds ingredients easily without issues. I used to have a bigger food processor and it was disappointing as that one has bigger blades and space that it cannot properly cut vegetables like bell pepper and onions into tiny pieces. A friend recommended to get the mini wizz instead and I'm… Read more
very happy that I did - homemade sausages and spring rolls with minced ingredients done in minutes!

Do not buy, smells like it is about to blow up! – I have tried using this a number of times on different items - garlic, bread to make bread crumb, parsley etc and the first press of any of the wizz function, there is a smell of burning or over working the unit. It scares me and I am worred it will blow up. Show details
Worst machine ever – Very difficult to put top on correctly & turn. It’s a constant battle to get it to click into position. Either turns food to mush or leaves large chunks. Easier to chop by hand than use this. Show details
Two non functional whizzies – First one stopped working after a month. Got a replacement under warranty and that one didn't even work the first time I turned it on. Got a similar product from Cuisinart which has been much better and I still use years later. Show details

Awful. Average Life Expectancy of Only Two Weeks – I purchased this mini food processor for chopping up herbs, large quantities of garlic, making small quantities of pastes etc and I chose this brand because we'd had a large Breville food processor that served us well for 10 years. After only a month the motor conked out completely. I then took it back, with receipt, and replaced it with another… Read more
one. One this one, the motor didn't even work on the first try. What's more, a Breville spice grinder I had stopped working after a month too. I used to think highly of this brand but no more. These days I tend to look for other brands with a better reputation (e.g. Cuisinart, or better yet something made in Europe or Japan) and get that instead if I can.

Buyer beware – I have had this Mini Wizz for well over a week, All I asked ito do was to cut up leafy Kale, fresh Mint and Red cabbage. It did. Twice. Now it has refused to go further, Do not buy this product. Fortunately I still have the receipt Les Griffiths Cairns. Show details
It does what it says it does – It works O.K. It does what it says it does. Yes, it’s small but that’s what it supposed to do. Not doing a big job. I hope it lasts long though. It’s hard to find things that last forever nowadays. But I don’t over use it so I think it should be O.K. Show details
Hard to connect and all 3 settings do similar jobs – We bought this for every day use but it seems like more work than less. Hard to sit on the pin and doesn't fit itself easily to get ready to chop grind or grate. Blades are not sharp either so it takes effort to chop an onion let alone anything hard. Won't recommend it for any price. Show details
Stopped Working After Minimal Use – I have had this since the beginning of the year - not used a lot. But today...it won't run. At all. Now I look at the reviews and this is a common problem. I thought that I had not gotten it locked in correctly but I have checked all of that and still - silence. It will not run. Very disappointing. I do have the receipt. Show details
I dont have very much experience at using WIzzs but on the few occasions I have used the Breville I – and delighted that it is so easy to use. I don't use all the attachments, just the very basics. Although I am used to using the Kenwood Chef - the large mixer - I am getting a little bit more confident in using the Breville Mini Wizz, and ! will continue using it a little more! Show details
Fantastic little machine – Have had this wonderful little machine for 6 months now and use it so often. Lately it has been of great assistance in preparing vegetables for winter soup creations...I love how you can just set it to go and before you know it you have all your ingredients ready for cooking...couldn't live without it! Imposible to clean – I loved the idea of a small machine I could stick on the bench-top and do small irritating jobs like chopping mint. Trouble is it is so, so hard to clean that it drove me nuts every time I did even the smallest job. Eventually, the motor just up and died so I'm back to my trusty blender and hand mixer. Very disappointed – I bought one of these Breville BFP100 and used it once on soft chic peas and it stopped working. Sounds like it stripped a gear inside. I was going to take it back but I could not fined my invoice for proof of purchase. My advice is don't buy this model Breville. Show details
Terrible – Bought this appliance a few weeks ago. Doesn't work. Doesn't come anywhere near to the quality of my Moulinex mini chopper that I had for over 16 years. Tried to chop onions and tomatoes on the Breville mini and it would not go. I've searched high and low for the receipt and warranty and can't find them. Waste of money!!!! Show details

No good – I purchased this item earlier in the year, but used it for the first time at Christmas. I chopped first batch of almonds, then tried the second batch and it just would not go. Unfortunatley, having purchased it so long ago, I had mislaid the receipt.. Just chucked it in the rubbish. Buy at you own risk Show details
Planetary pinions weak link in design!!!! – Following just months of use the Planetary Pinions made of Plastic material deteriorated sufficient to render the Wizz an refuse item. Being the Horder/come, try and fix it before disposal, that I am the unfit for use unit layed around my work bench for some time until I came across an Item on Ebay 10pcs Plastic Accessories Of DIY Model Toy Motor… Read more
Shaft Gear HOT. Measuring up the original Gear size in the Unit I was able to order an compatible gear available from Hong Kong,10 gears for $1.50, opened/drilled out the bore to suit the pin size, re assembled and Bobs your uncle. the Wizz is working again. I guess as with the original, life expectancy is limited. Nevertheless as temporary as this might prove to be its a cheap fix. It wouldn't surprise me if the original manufactured items were made this way using toy components.
Poor quality!!! – I'm not happy with this product, just wasted $59. I put some onions into the chopper and came out like soup it was finely chopped and watery as well. The chopper is really loud and really hard to use when your rotating the mixing container. I want to get a refund :( Show details

Really useless – Was given this as a gift. Have used it 2 times and persevered, but tried yesterday and it's a dud. It has no ability to chop anything & no matter which button you press it struggles to move & sounds the same. Dissapointingly I had to resort to a rolling pin & chopping board to crush my biscuits. I have numerous excellent Breville branded appliances, but this one doesn't live up to their usual standards! Show details
Poor quality gearbox - Yep !! – "As others have reported, the small plastic-geared gearbox is poorly designed and inadequate for the job. My mini wizz failed after two years and thus out of warranty. I agree with the above - Even if the small plastic gears (or the gear assembly) were available, that would help..
Our Mini Wizz BFP100 worked well for a while (my favourite blitzer) but the gears broke way too easily...
Hi Stevo45 - the design team receives these notifications and appreciates feedback. Thanks, the Breville team
Wont work and something is wrong – I purchased this item from bing lee, it worked for the first time and now I am trying to chop and it does not make contact. It is as if something is missing on the lid. I put the container and then the balde and then lock in lid and guess what??? nothing, dead.

Poor quality gearbox – As others have reported, the small plastic-geared gearbox is poorly designed and inadequate for the job. My mini wizz failed after two years and thus out of warranty. On disassembly it was clear the gearbox internals had disintegrated. The remainder of the unit appears of reasonable build quality but because of the gearbox purchase is not recommended.
Bad quality – I've had mine for 3y, have used it occasionally and I'm very careful with it. It stopped working suddenly (revolving) and my dad wanted to see what was wrong. Firstly, they make it so you can't easily open it yourself, so you have to take it to their shop for a fix. We managed to open it. Secondly, the gear box has one metal part against 3 plastic… Read more
pins that roll around it. Clearly they had to be metal, but they've saved some money and therefore the plastic bits have all been devoured by the metal, hence why it doesn't work anymore. For the price, I really see no reason for this, it should be built to last.
Doesn't chop! – We were given one as a gift and while the compact size is handy, and it works ok for soft purées, it basically can't chop anything. Not even a tomato or capsicum. Could not recommend.
Poor product – I am an occasional user and it is cheap. Within three uses it failed and was replaced under warranty. A dozen uses later, it failed again. Sounds like stripped gears again. Perhaps it is being used beyond its capacity and so will give Breville the benefit of doubt with three stars. So buy one for very light use and dont stretch it (like using for a biscuit mix). Small, compact and cheap Prone to failure. Use for dry light mixtures.
Made of fragile plastic – Release catch broken less than 10 uses later (warranty lapsed - past 1 year) I now hold the safety catch down to use it. Still works but inconvenient. It works, quite easy to clean I was careful with it yet the release catch is already broken under 10 uses. Out of warranty - used it infrequently.
OK – The size is a bit too small (yes, I know it is MINI wizz), I did my meat ball with this and have to do it 6 times. And becoz u have to do it so many times, when u take it out and put it back, the mix will easily get into the axis. Plus when I try different settings with those 6 trials and they all looks the same. Wish they got a week setting so my… Read more
meal ball has better texture. Doesnt take much space
Easy to wash
motor is strong 3 power settings doesnt have much difference
the power cable is too short
the mix sometimes get into the axis
Unhygienic – The way the blade is designed is terrible. I have had 2 blades and liquid from the food you blend gets stuck inside the plastic where the blade is bolted together. Small, great for baby food. Blade design, unhygienic.
