This dryer is fast! – At 2200 watts this dryer packs a punch. My daughter's long, thick hair is dry in 15 minutes and mine, which is short, is dry in about five. I really bought this because I trust this brand and it was on special. I've been very happy with it. I'm still not sure what an 'Ionic Function' is, or if it actually makes any difference to your hair. There's certainly nothing particularly noticeable about the way this dries as compared to my old, non-ionic dryer. My advice would be that if you can get this dryer at a comparable price to a 'standard' one then why not see if this feature makes any difference to you. If, on the other hand, you need to pay a lot more for this feature then be aware that it might just be a waste of money. Very fast. Not sure if the 'Ionic Function' makes any difference but it's still a good dryer
