Huge disappointment – Breville no longer has the pizza stone as a spare part , could not recommend anything that may fit. The only option is a new different pizza oven. Such a disappointment. I have had my oven for just Two years. I am sure I would not be the only customer. I really did use it quite a lot.

I love this pizza oven so I bought 2! – I love making gourmet pizza including the dough. If you buy supermarket pizza then using an oven is all you need, not a pizza oven. Two Breville ovens mean less waiting for pizzas to cook when you are entertaining. If you are savvy, you may just pick one up second hand. Over the years I have had other pizza ovens which have died - Aldi and a brand no longer made but now made under the New Wave brand. They did not compare to the 'Breville - the Crispy Crust Pizza Oven'!
Why I love this oven is:
1. Super heavy lid to keep in heat
2. Heat control for top element. Other models do not offer this
3. Reaches 350c. Your oven cannot reach that temperature
4. Fast heat up
5. Removable stone for ease of cleaning
6. Pizza takes only 7 mins to cook if you do not pile on the toppings
7. Naan and flat breads cook perfectly
What is missing with this oven are semi circle paddles but it is ok. Get a beer carton box, cut out a circle 25cm in size then cut this circle in half. Place your pizza on your semi circle paddles then place pizza on heated stone. I have tried other methods to transfer the pizza to the stone but this is the easiest method because the pizza keeps its'shape. My paddles came with my very first pizza oven and are made of thin plywood.
If you long for a wood fired pizza oven but cannot afford one, then this is the next best option. You will not be disappointed.
TIP 1: DO NOT overload your pizza with cheese and toppings as they will not bake, they will steam!
TIP 2: Do not use premade pizza bases. If you plan on doing that, then save your money and use your regular oven and not a pizza oven
TIP 3: The pizza dough recipe that comes with the pizza oven is a good starting point. If you do not have a bread maker or a dough hook, use your food processor and blitz for the dough for 15 seconds
TIP 4: Pete Evans (MKR) Pizza cookbook is excellent. You will be making gourmet pizza for a couple of dollars
TIP 5: 500g of BREAD flour (Lauke brand) or 00 flour makes 4 plate sized pizzas
TIP 6: DO NOT use plain flour as the protein level is not high enough. Your base WILL BE TERRIBLE!
TIP 7: Cook under your exhaust as it can smoke a little
TIP 8: Takes notes each time you make pizza. You will quickly refine your recipes and avoid future failures.
Pizza is so easy to make when you know what you are doing and very cheap to do. Good luck!

It was too hot to handle itself – Absolutely fell in love with this appliance. It cooked vegan pizzas perfectly every time - thin, classic and thick crust by following the instructions on preparing the dough by weight and using the relevant heat settings. It did take longer to cook then it claimed but that did not matter as the result was fantastic. The top cooked really well (no soggy veggies) and the crust was excellent.
Unfortunately, the plastic between the back hinge started melting during operation! I took it back and got a refund. So I am trying another popular brand.

Best small appliance we've EVER had! – This makes the best pizza consistently in very little time. I love it so much that I sent one to my mother in law and my daughter. They both have the same experience. We all make pizza at least once a week now. I can make healthy pizza that is 100 times better than anything I can get in a restaurant. My daughter makes the most amazing gourmet pizza. I've had it for over a year and it just keeps getting better!
Useless for home made pizzas – Model is latest BPZ600. We purchased this product specifically for cooking our home made pizzas with thick toppings! The electric grill under top burns and comes in contact with pizza filling!! Ugh !! Bad design !! Not enough clearance!! What a waste of $140!! Wish someone had told me!! .. Yes.. OK for thin Pizzas.
