Great service, very efficient and tidy. He got the drawings done, the approval from the council and within a short time I had a new brick wall finished to a high quality.
As a carpenter who's been in the trade for over 15 years, I don't hand out praise lightly — especially when it comes to other trades on my jobs. Recently I brought in Perth Bricklaying And Plastering to handle the plastering on a big renovation in Bayswater (walls, ceilings, and some tricky feature areas). Honestly, I was delighted with the entire experience. The team showed up when they said they would, worked cleanly around my framing and fix-outs, and delivered an incredibly smooth, professional finish that made painting a breeze. No rushed corners, no patching needed later — just top-shelf work that actually elevated the whole project. Communication was spot-on too; quick responses, clear updates, and they were happy to tweak things on the fly to suit the build. Fair pricing, no hidden extras, and they left the site tidier than they found it. If you're a carpenter or builder looking for plasterers you can actually trust and enjoy working with, give these guys a call. 5 stars — I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
I've used these guys multiple times and highly recommend them, very clean (which is rare for plasterers) and they did a great job.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for being a repeat customer — that really means a lot to us! We're stoked to hear you've had consistently great experiences with the team. Cleanliness is something we take seriously (plaster can be a nightmare!), so it's awesome that it's standing out as a highlight for you. Glad the work has hit the mark every time too. Thanks again for the high recommendation — it keeps us motivated to keep delivering. Looking forward to the next job whenever you're ready! Cheers,

Hi all, I’m sharing my experience with Perth Bricklaying and Plastering in the interest of informing others who may be considering engaging their services. I engaged this business to build a fence for my property, with a quoted cost of approximately $19,800. I have paid around $16,000 to date. I now understand that this may be above market rate, but at the time, I was struggling to obtain responses from other contractors due to high demand in the industry. I relied on the company’s website, which presents it as a professional construction business with claims of high-quality workmanship and industry expertise. I later discovered that it is operated by a sole trader.
Since work commenced, I have experienced repeated issues including: • Unreliable communication and non-attendance on agreed dates. • An explanation for non-attendance involving a burst pipe at the owner’s investment property. • A claim by the owner that he had sustained a neck injury, after which another individual was sent to complete the work. I was not provided any details about this person’s qualifications or relationship to the business. • A lack of progress on-site despite messages stating work would resume, particularly during a two-week period while I was overseas.
During my absence, my mother contacted the business on my behalf to follow up after my emails were ignored. The response she received was abrupt. The owner claimed he was on holiday and hung up on her. He later responded via text in a manner I considered inappropriate, referencing a fictional threat from my mother’s “husband” (she is not married). Shortly after, I received an email accusing my mother of threatening violence and stating that the business would no longer continue the job, suggesting I engage another plasterer. This appears to confirm my suspicion that he was trying to get something in writing to justify abandoning the job. The potential employee who may also not be an employee told me that this man was in Bali while telling me he was seeking physio for his injured neck. I suspect that is where he was on ‘holiday’ instead of coming to finish the job.
Additionally, I received multiple invoices with very short payment timelines—often due the next day—and follow-ups occurred even after I communicated expected payment processing times.
At this point, the job remains incomplete, with debris left on-site and an unfinished fence. I have documented all relevant communications, invoices, and photographs of the work and website. I have consulted a lawyer who has confirmed that I am within my rights to share a factual account of my experience and to leave honest reviews.
I will also be reporting this business to Consumer protection.
Dear Julia, Thank you for your review and for outlining your concerns. I take all client feedback seriously and wish to provide a clear, factual response to each point raised, based on our documented communications, site discussions, photographs, and the agreed scope of works.
Quoted Cost and Market Rate: The quoted amount of approximately $19,800 was provided following a detailed site inspection and discussion of your specific requirements, including the fence design, materials, height, and associated plastering/rendering to achieve the desired finish. This was accepted and work proceeded on that basis. Pricing reflects current material costs, labour rates in Perth (which remain elevated due to ongoing industry demand), and the custom nature of the project. While you note it may now appear above certain market averages, the quote was transparent, itemised where requested, and agreed upon prior to commencement.
Business Structure and Website Presentation The business operates as a registered sole trader, which is clearly stated in our documentation, tax invoices, and contract. Our website accurately reflects the services provided and examples of completed work. There was no misrepresentation regarding qualifications, insurance, or capability—all of which remain current and available upon request.
Communication and Attendance Issues: I acknowledge that scheduling has been challenging at times due to unforeseen circumstances, including urgent repairs at another property, and a genuine neck injury sustained during unrelated work, which required medical attention and temporary delegation to a qualified assistant whose details were shared verbally on site. Efforts were made to communicate delays via text and email as soon as possible. Regarding the period while you were overseas, progress updates were provided where feasible, though site access and material delivery constraints limited advancement. I regret any frustration caused and apologise for any perceived shortcomings in responsiveness.
Interaction with Your Mother and Subsequent Correspondence: The phone call in question occurred while I was overseas on pre-booked leave (Bali), which had been flagged in advance where possible. The conversation became heated, and unfortunately ended abruptly. My follow-up text and email referenced what was understood at the time to be a reference to potential escalation involving another party—any mischaracterisation was unintentional and based on the information conveyed during the call. The decision to pause works stemmed from concerns over continuing productively amid escalating tension, not an intent to abandon the project. We remained open to resuming under clear terms.
Payment Invoices and Timelines Invoices were issued in line with the agreed payment schedule (progress claims at key stages). Short due dates reflected standard industry practice for cash-flow management on smaller projects. Where you communicated processing delays, I adjusted follow-ups accordingly and did not apply penalties or withhold services as a result.
Incomplete Works, Site Condition, and Plastering/Fence Finish The fence remains incomplete due to the pause in works following the above events. Regarding the plastering/render finish: You specifically requested additional thickness/build-up to correct substrate unevenness and achieve a fully flat, level surface matching your preferred aesthetic and to align with adjacent details (which included us having to use a brick slither that you agreed to and have now tried to use in the above pictures as bad workmanship) Before the final skim/finishing coat was to be applied, I provided (and you acknowledged) photographs clearly showing the base coat and bonding stages with this increased projection/height already in place. These images accurately depicted how the wall plane would appear post-plastering once skimmed. You confirmed satisfaction with the progress at that stage and instructed us to proceed. The finished result faithfully reflects the agreed extra build-up you requested and approved. Any perception that the outcome is unexpected is not consistent with those documented approvals and photographs.
All relevant communications, invoices, site photos (including the pre-plaster images you reference), and progress records are retained and can be reviewed jointly if desired. We remained committed to completing the project to a high standard and to your satisfaction. I proposed we arrange a site meeting at your earliest convenience to inspect the current state, discuss any adjustments within the existing framework, agree on a resumption plan, and finalise outstanding payments tied to completed stages (but you denied access or a site meeting).
I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly and hope we can resolve this amicably. Best regards, Danny

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review — it truly means a lot to us! Coming from a seasoned carpenter with 15+ years in the game, your kind words carry extra weight. We're thrilled to hear that our team delivered the clean, high-quality finish you were after on that Bayswater renovation, especially around those tricky feature areas and while working alongside your framing. It's always our goal to make life easier for the other trades on site, and hearing that the painting went smoothly (with no patching required) is the best feedback we could ask for. We pride ourselves on being reliable, communicative, and tidy — so it's fantastic to know that came through loud and clear. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we'd jump at the chance to work together again anytime. Thanks again for the 5 stars and the glowing endorsement — really appreciate it, mate! If you have any upcoming jobs where we can lend a hand, don't hesitate to give us a call. Cheers, Dan.
