Hopeless and unprofessional – This company was subcontracted by a bigger company. These guys arrived a day late and 7pm at night. Two overtired guys arrived and started moving my one bed room apartment in Sydney. When they saw my stuff, they rang their boss and stated that my stuff would need more truck space and would cost me $320 more, despite me declaring all my stuff prior… Read more

to them giving me a quote.

They were very good in sneaking extra charges despite me making sure before agreeing to getting their services. I knew from that moment that this company was dodgy. I had to avail their storage service as I did not have a place to move in yet in Brisbane. They initially quoted me $25 a week but for some unexplainable reason, when my stuff arrived in Brisbane, the rate went up to $320 a month and were asking for payment right away. I challenged this but was told that I was free to collect my items and store it somewhere else, at that time, I was still in Sydney finalising my move out of the apartment so I had no choice but to go through with it. When delivery day came, as usual, they were late by 4hrs and received my all my items and furniture with some sort of damage or scratch. My tv unit was in pieces and was being held by a belt! my portable aircon was cracked and so was my heater. 2 fans were totally demolished and and lamps were broken. there were also items that weren't mine like a cross trainer, 2 mountain bikes, beds, blankets and etc. no wonder they charged me a large storage container!

and for some reason, the two most important box that I had told them to be extra careful off were the ones that went missing. To make it worse, they sent me an invoice for the delivery of my items and was charging me 6hrs ($150/hr) despite them agreeing on only charging me $300 prior to the delivery of my items, which by the way only took the guys 30mins to unload from the truck. I have disputed this and they threatened me with legal actions, which I now think would have been a better outcome rather than this mess, in the end I agreed to pay them $400 which is way better than $900. One of the missing boxes contained my small appliances and a mistifier which helps my daughter during those chesty nights, easily worth $1500 and the other one contained beddings which were custom built, expensive and gifted during our wedding easily costing $2k. I have emailed them numerous times and texted the main contact person, but gave me the same reason like the others "my wife is having pregnancy issues" or "I'm on leave for 6 weeks". I have been utterly devastated in losing all my stuff which I had to replace and costed me more money! I wish this people would man up and get their insurance to cover for our losses, as by the looks of things, I wasn't the only one who was ripped off by this people. to date, I haven't received a single correspondence from them and they delivered my stuff on June 30 2017. If anyone out there has a solution to this mayhem, please private message me. I would also be happy in joining anyone who would put forward a complaint to the appropriate services.

And please avoid this company at all cost!

More like Brisbane Local Demolition Rip-offs – I was moving a 1 bedroom unit 3 hours away for a new job & made the fatal mistake of using Brisbane Local Movers. They kept postponing the moving date, were consistently late, used every excuse from 'someone stole the truck' to 'I'm having a baby', unethical, untrustworthy, unbelievable damage to property, bags which had been opened, completely… Read more

failed to deliver half my stuff (including bed & essentials for work), stuffed around delivery of my remaining possessions until they lost my job, refused to provide insurance details (illegal), refused to unload 1 night because I didn't have cash on me (extortion).

After sending ~200 photos of damage done to possessions, [name removed] finally provided a copy of the insurance certificate & promised to co-operate with an insurance claim for so much damage.

Additionally, items are missing completely (theft), some of which were brand new & still in boxes - even my own box trolly.

My experience with Brisbane Local Movers has been an absolute nightmare!

Do not use this company - they took my deposit and never arrived – Do not use this company. My move was for a 3 bedroom house, on the day of the move an hour after they were supposed to arrive, I rang the company and they gave me some excuse, and would be there in an hour. An hour and a half later I rang them and a gruff, angry man said - I'll check where the boys are. Following this phone call they stopped… Read more

answering my calls. They never arrived and now will return my emails or calls and have not refund my deposit.

Unprofessional and untrustworthy! – I used Brisbane Local Movers to move my house from Toowong to East Brisbane. Two guys came late one and half hour and they moved all boxes and furnitures which I and my family had already packed. We mostly took apart all furnitures except very few. When I saw their works, they looked struggled to disassemble and slow. I definitely can tell the… Read more

difference because I recently moved my house few times and from Melbourne to Melbourne and Melbourne to Brisbane. The quality of Brisbane Local Movers is the worst.

Anyway, while they were moving my dining table, I exactly watched what they did. They kept hitting the table to very sharp edge of door frame and it caused many damages to the table. After that, I immediately complained about it and the worker said he will fix the matter later. Once they finished their job, I mentioned about my damaged dining table and he rang the manager and sent the photos of damages. Then, he explained to me that the company will claim the insurance to fix the table and the person in charge will contact me as soon as possible.

I waited their email or call, but, nothing had happened at all. Finally, I emailed the company with photos and tried to contact the person many times. However, they always said they haven't got any email yet and somebody will contact you soon. It has been nearly one month now, but, no respond yet.

I'd like to share my story to protect other consumer who will accidentally use Brisbane Local Movers.
