Bromley’s Bread

SHOCKING SERVICE – Honestly Bromley’s bread is great but I don’t know where they get their staff. All my friends and family say they have experienced poor service by rude staff at Mentone. Last Sunday I was in the new Mentone store. The three girls in there were as good as useless. They were all laughing so loudly at something, unsure if they were laughing at me or the other customer. It was very unprofessional and very uncomfortable for everyone. Looking at their reviews it seems they have issues with rude staff and personally, I think that situation should be resolved at the top. There was one tall girl with a Mousey blonde ponytail, with a long face and droopy eyes and the other very confident girl with the reddish hair and orange makeup that seemed to be the ringleaders. It’s just a shame. Such a good product but such woeful assistants. As much as I enjoy their breads, I would not go back. Word of mouth can have devastating consequences for business in the long term. Please train your staff and teach them some manners and respect for customers. You mentioned neurodivergent staff. I’ve worked with neurodivergent individuals and not once have any of those individuals been rude. Personally I think it’s just poor supervision and training. There are plenty of other great bakeries like Flourhouse, The new Woodfrog, Even Mentones lovely Bakers Delight. Never have I met anyone of such poor calibre at any other store locally.
