Perfect machine for the home dressmaker – Bought my machine in 2010; I've never had any problems with it. Never needed to take it in for servicing. I do a lot of sewing and found it to be a great reliable machine and an ideal weight for moving it to different locations. All in all, after having a Bernina machine for over 20 years, I'm very happy with my machine.

Beautiful little machine! – This is the first sewing machine I have ever owned and I bought it from Spotlight for $349 reduced (apparently) from $499. It is extremely easy to use and I find the instruction manual really useful. I bought it about 3 years ago and haven't yet had it serviced but it is still going strong. I use it at least once a week (often more) and have made several pairs of denim jeans as well as sewed delicate tops and swimwear. For jeans sewing I have often had to change the thread from topstitch thread to normal thread and back again as well as swap the needles to match, the tension is so easy to adjust and definately makes that part of jeans sewing a bit less hassle. It is a good machine although I can't compare since I haven't had any other. I love to sew and so far this machine has been worth every cent to me. Every one says this is a great machine for beginners, and I have agree although now I'm probably an advanced novice but I'm still happy with this tough baby and if I ever decide to get a more advanced sewers machine I will keep this one as a very reliable spare. And the upgrade would be another brother! I'm glad I didn't have to pay $499 for it, but it's probably worth that money. I never ever have tension problems, super easy bobbin winding, clear lid on bobbin compartment so you know how much thread is left, awesome 1 step button hole function with 3 styles. I love the bar tack function for making jeans too. Both of these functions work with thick topstitch thread too which is perfect for making jeans or cargo pants. It comes with good accessories to get you started and I like the snap on feet. The instruction manual is really good and in the early days of owning this machine, it was the manual that taught me to sew. This is a strong reliable easy to use home sewers machine. None really, but if I had paid the full price of $499 then I think it should have come with a hard case because it only has a plastic dust cover.

Lovely to sew with fine material but not so much with quilting, stitches bunch up, very dissapointing
