Caboolture Discount Tyres
1 review
DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS – PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS !! We made a phone booking to replace ONE tyre, all of which including price was agreed to by the owner. We were suspicious he was low-balling us on the price. He was ! Showed up and told tyres must match and needed to buy two tyres. He argued it was against the law to not have matching tyres. The problem is - he is 100% WRONG. There is NO legal requirement for two tyres to be replaced at the same time although many experts recommend it. Now you'd think being in the tyre business - he should probably be familiar with this aspect of the law. Nope - doesn't have a clue. But of course its very much in his best interest to have agreed to replacing ONE tyre over the phone and then trying on this version of a bait and switch when the customer arrives. Why would you agree to the booking in the first place if there was no intention to replace any less than two tyres (assuming it was actually a legal requirement - you'd tell the customer this at the time of the booking).
Tyres on the same axle need to be the same size and the same tyre type (not brand - just type, radial for example) and they don't need to be the same tread pattern either.
We wonder just how many other customers have fallen for this rubbish in the past and forced into buying more ? Given the bad reviews for this business, we wouldn't be surprised.
These people have even been on "A Current Affair" for threatening a female customer after breaking her window - and then also threatening and nearly running over the camera crew from channel 9 !!! https://9now.nine.com.au/a-current-affair/tyre-shop-blow-up-reporter-becomes-target-while-asking-about-alleged-caboolture-discount-tyres-complaints/44c9efea-e6d9-4410-b24c-d02165720408
The problem is if you're going to be arrogant and smug (read some of his responses to other customer reviews) - you really ought to be correct. This is the type of unacceptable and reprehensible customer service that unfairly tarnishes all small business owners. Its time for this ugly old codger to be put out to pasture. The next person he messes with may not be so forgiving.
The only way to teach people like this a lesson is for customers to go somewhere else (like we did the next day without any hassle) and force them to shut down or sell the business to someone who treats customers with respect.
We've also begun proceeding with other options in relation to this matter too.
