A Very Unhappy Experience
Walked in into the shop for a wheel balancing service. One of the front wheel had its balancing weight fell off. Came out of the shop with the exact same problem untouched. Tried to complain that the balancing was not done, the guy attended was very defensive about it. They didn't even bother to offer a recheck to make sure that the job was done right. The photo attached is of both front wheels. The left wheel had its weight fell off. Possible scam alert!
What a waste of time
Two or three months ago I purchased a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7's. At the time I was very happy with the service. This week I had one of the tyres blow out when I hit a small pot hole. Today I called the store - Nunawading - to explain and check if they had a tyre. They said yes so I drove 30 min to get there and checked my car in. Customer desk person said it will take 1.5 to 2 hours which was longer than I really wanted but I decided to continue and left the car. 1.5 hours later BJ called to say they actually did not have the tyre and could...not find one in any of their local stores so I would have wait to middle of the week. Got back to the store and picked up my car and wheel. No "sorry for the inconvenience" nothing but someone must have picked the wrong tyre and bad luck. Having now wasted my whole morning - and I had a lot of other things I needed to do - I am really unimpressed and will not use BJ again.
Bob Jane Mackay replaced my tyres but in the process stripped the bolts. How do I know this, because they are the only people who have ever touched the tyres on my car and the previous time they didn't have any problems. I also discovered through my mechanic who had to replace them at a cost to me!! that on my particular car the bolts thread are opposite.
If Bob Jane are supposed to be professionals they should have known this???

had a booking today 1pm fountaingate got there wait my tyres to arrive there told me kumho never on time but as a customer why they not call me tell me this then tell me after 30 minutes waited be served come back 3 pm,then even 3pm they not call but honesty besides the point dont waste u time people there losing customers they tell me i need a wheel alignemnt on my back tyres my car doesnt need that as its front wheel drive guys im a motor mechanic how silly are they i didnt tell them this no need to,so i went next door bridgestone select got ...my tyres put on actually got supercat but no good rang them up ask for another brad and they reswap them straight away so thats service bobjane tmart useless mob dandenong worse tell me a price $89 for 1 tyre go bridestone select as they have 20% of sale now and if u pay $400 tyres u pay $320 bargain bobjane tmart u never get me as a customer ever again shame shame shame on your office i hear people say con the manager good u sure

Fixed the issue when no one else could
Took my Prado to Bob Jane Taren Pt as there was vibrations at 110km/h.
Toyota Sutherland could fix issue, Bridgestone wouldn’t look at it for more than a balance and couldn’t fix issue. Even though they were pretty new Bridgestone tyres.
Bob Jane was able to fix problem in one go for no expense. No new tyres required. Great, friendly service, I couldn’t recommend highly enough!
I had a flat tyre, and I asked them to investigate and fix it. They responded to my online enquiry very promptly.
I dropped the vehicle off and went back after an hour. The customer service representative told me that it was the valve cap that was faulty, They put the flat tyre back on and returned my spare to the hold.
They did not charge me for any of their time. I was so impressed at the friendliness and professionalism. I would definitely recommend Bob Jane at Morley, and will definitely use them again.
Helpful, good price and quick
I hate buying tyres. They’re expensive and I always reckon the old tyres are still good, sort of. However there are some laws that mean the car has to be roadworthy so off tyre shopping we go. Bob Jane T-Mart Brookvale. Recently went in for a price on four tyres for my ‘weekend’ car. Brendan didn’t just get a price, he went searching for the best tyre for the best price. With different wheel specs between the front and rear, the tyres weren’t in stock but delivered the next morning and installed, aligned and ready to go. Very happy, wh...ich shouldn’t be a surprise to me because over the years whenever I have needed the dreaded new tyres these guys have always been really good to deal with. I thoroughly recommend them and suggest you at least speak with them to get both a good deal and good service

The bob Jane T-Mart at Balcatta are very helpful, helped me out with which tyres i needed and a good price range too. Was sorted very quickly and the car was ready for pick in a jiffy. Will surely be heading back with anymore tyre issues
New Tyres for my Totota Camry
I went to Bob Jane T-Mart Granville to change 2 front tyres as advised by my mechanic for my pink slip. When I went to the store the salesman came out and inspected the car and said that I should change my 2 rear tyres as well for the safety of my family. He showed one rear tyre which had a small cut/slit and then said that the other rear tyre(driver side) has not been changed since I bought the car in 2011. This was all verbal and I could not verify the authenticity of the statement made by the car salesman. Since the salesperson invoked the s...afety of my family so I was sucked into buying 4 tyres instead of 2 as I was worried what would happen to my family if the tyres suddenly burst, as told by the salesman . I was never shown the condition of the rear 2 tyres before they were changed. The salesman said that the treading of the 2 rear tyres was nearly gone but I didn't have the opportunity to see it. I am of the opinion this is pressure or force selling by stating something which might not be true and exploiting the vulnerability of the customer by telling them that their family might be in danger. My credit card situation is bad as spent lots during Christmas so an additional $200 on the credit card means an extra $200 debt which I have to pay back on top of my existing debt.
Your car is UNroadworthy
I dropped off the wifes car for a tyre rotation. They called and said the 2 fronts are bald and the car is not roadworthy. When picked up the car they said "not a good idea to drive it home".
No suggestion as to what tyres are on special, or even if they have tyres in stock, nothing. I drove the car straight to a competitors store and got 2 tyres fitted with a booking, no waiting! That is service!
Deceptive Conduct Port Adelaide Store
Went into Bob jane T Marts Port Adelaide looking for Tyres for my Mazda. Was interested in a particular tyre brand which I believe they had in stock. The sales person said the could do a bridgestone tyre for a few dollars cheaper and being a decent brand I thought why not. Well when I collected car they had fitted bob jane T mart home brand tyres. While they may be a ok tyre it is not ok to be deceptive. I'm guessing these home brand tyres are made by bridgestone but it is highly dubious behavior. Will certainly not use Bob jane Tmarts Port Adelaide in the near future. Not ok
Could not recommend this tyre servicing centre more. I was on the way to pick up my daughter and two young grandchildren from the airport, when my car signalled a warning that there was a problem with the tyres. I called my husband who told me to just ignore it as I would be running late, but i had a nagging feeling that I shouldnt risk it, and so headed to the first tyre service centre I found along the way. They told me that I could not drive or go on the freeway as it would be dangerous, however that was my only way to the airport, and upon ...understanding my situation, the service guy called in extra help so that I could quickly get back on the road. They prioritised my car, fixed it in record time and off I was. I am super grateful and impressed with their excellent service and would highly recommend them.
Warning, stay away. They will not admit fault ever.
Bob Jane in preston are willing to take my money after fitting tyres that don't fit. They try to blame me for having aftermarket struts but the tyres are wedged against it so after fitting they then aligned it and charged me. Smoke and burning rubber everywhere and they tried to say "sorry, we aren't suspension experts" although they had to back the camber off to clear the tyres???? They then said that was all they would do. These tyres are unroadworthy. These smug unprofessionals try to usher you away after you state your case. Also the feedback page has no admins. So complaints mean nothing. I have all the proof I need to continue this further if head office dont want to answer.
Every happy with the service I received for 2 brand new tyres and a wheel alignment. Simple and easy, and was recommended a quality and affordable tyre. Def a regular customer!

Poised to be disrupted - Don't advertise if not interested to price match
Best tyre price guarantee? More like guarantee no interest to price match. I submitted a price match request 1 week ago and received no reply. Not even an email to let me know the outcome. The market is efficient, so I completed my purchase with the competitor who are interested to do business. The competitor provided outstanding value by the way: low price, quality fitment, quick delivery, genuine product, money back guarantee and 1 year free roadside assist.
Bottom line: Shop around, there are better deals out there. Don't waste time hoping Bob Jane to price match. Spend your time wisely.

Does Bob Jane have an official policy regarding the way wheel nuts must be tightened, or is this left to the discretion of each franchise or individual mechanics? In particular, are mechanics allowed to just use impact wrenches and estimate the required torque, or do they use torque limiting extensions (torque sticks), or do they do the final tightening by hand using a torque wrench?

I emailed email@example.com several days ago, but am still waiting on a reply. In the mean time I have done some more web searching, and I found one discussion on Whirlpool where someone mentioned that Bob Jane required the final tighten to be done with a torque wrench, with instant dismissal for anybody caught not complying. Unfortunately in the same thread someone else commented that if this were the case then that would mean the entire workshop staff would be gone at his local Bob Jane! See https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2757100#r57546014 for the thread. So maybe I need to know not only what the official policy is, but also whether or not the policy is actually followed!
I finally got a reply. Bob Jane does not have any official policy, but they do have an internal document that is used for training purposes. The reply didn't say what procedure they recommend in this document. So I still don't know either what procedure Bob Jane train their staff to use, or how widely their staff follow this procedure once they have completed their training, but I do at least know that a training document exists!
Since what really matters is what my local Bob Jane staff actually do my next step is probably to chase this up with my local franchise. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time here...
How old are the tyres you sell allowed to be?
We bought tyres in July 2019 they have now travelled 700km and we got knocked back on rego inspection today because they were manufactured in 2015 and the mechanic says they have cracks between the tread.

Manufacturers give a warranty of 5 years after manufacture date and we do not repair tyres over 8 years old. If you have recently bought the tyres as you said, please contact your local Bob Jane so we can inspect your tyres. If they are indeed faulty, we will make sure to get you back on the road safely and have the manufacturer pick up this tyre.

I need to lodge a case with VCAT to force Bob Jane T Marts to pay to fix damage that I alledge was done to my car by one of their stores and one of their regional managers when he attempted to remove over torqued wheel nuts.
It is a requirement to have an ASIC print out of the company name, trading name etc. I have asked Staff at the Bob Jane T Marts Port Melbourne office to provide these details but they refuse. saying that I need to go to a lawer to get this information.
This makes lodging a VCAT application very difficult as I have to pay a fee for every page of company information from ASIC as there are numerous Bob Jane business and I have no way of knowing which one is the actual employer of the person who made my car undrivable.
If someone knows this information or perhaps even Bob Jane T Marts staff could provide it?

I have sent emails to email@example.com numerous times asking for this information and these requests for information were ignored. I have called several times to follow up and typically get the level 1 phone support guy and he just hangs the phone up on me. One time I managed to get Alex Chung (he is some sort of manager) on the phone but he said that helping a person sue him was something he would not do and so refused to divludge information I was asking for.
It is a bit hard to navigate this situation as Alex Chung has offered a sum of money that is a lot less than what it costs to fix my car and has advised that I should take them to VCAT to allow VCAT to decide but the obfiscation of business identity makes loding a claim with VCAT impossible as they require me to have proof of what the business entity is.
Can you please provide your ABN, ACN and trading names for the Bob Jane businesses that I can lodge my complaint against.
