Well worth the dollars spent! – Purchased this product and had it installed in late July 2018. Our regular electrical output is 5000+ and the whole system will pay for itself in around 5-6 years time. The monthly electricity bill has gone from around $110.00 to $44.00. VERY happy! Btw, this installation was conducted by Solar Electrical in Eaglehawk. Fantastic service before, during and after installation!

Big Company doesn't mean they can't deal dishonestly – Solar Delight (a company who has now closed) guaranteed A class panels installed on my roof. The installation occurred with a 3KW system being placed on my roof. A year or so later I receive correspondence from a company "Canadian Solar" who inform me they were the suppliers of Solar Delights panels that are on my roof and that Solar Delight have now ceased trading. They also informed me that my panels are C class and should never have been used in Australia as they did not fit Australian criteria for Solar trading schemes, (they inspected them themselves to confirm).

Canadian Solar said they were under no obligation to replace my panels but were approaching me to do it as a good will gesture as I was the injured party. They would provide the panels for free and I may need to pay for just a few items that may be necessary in the replacement.

SOUND LIKE A GOOD COMPANY LOOKING AFTER THE CONSUMER?

After the inspection I receive a request to pay close to $2000 to cover the "labour" of the install, Considering I paid $4900 for the setup in the first place, this is over 40% of the original cost......I said no, as the rails and inverter are already there it appears to me I am paying full price for the "good will gesture" panels and a slice of good profit on top.. I was then called about 6 times as they tried to "sell" the whole thing to me saying it was necessary, my panels will fail, could be fires and all sorts of things. I then noticed my original email was also addressed to around 80 other email addresses and after contacting some it appears there is at least 80 more in the same circumstances maybe many more. Another injured party bought the domain of Solar Delight and has laid out the story on their old website, feel free to check it out at https://www.solardelight.com.au/

My question is, if these 3rd grade panels are not even meant meant to be in Australia, why were they imported by Canadian Solar to be sold and used here? No questions asked? Turns out Solar Delight has operated under several names and closed several times operating this awesome scam. Canadian Solar seem happy to sit on the side selling dodgy panels and then swinging in on a vine to profit again by replacing them for what we should have got in the first place at a good profit.

Now they ignore emails and calls, they don't defend themselves or deny it, while they thought I was going to be a money source they wouldn't leave me alone. the ACCC do nothing but give information by the pageful that does not include investigating them so what else is there to do but spend money to take them to court? It'll come to more than an install to go through the court system anyway.

Just be careful people, it's not just little companies and individuals who can sting, it's the big foreign owned ones too.
