After driving it, I found the car too big, so I contacted Carbiz, who were were happy to change the car for a smaller one which was similar in size our own car. Ashleigh delivered the replacement car to our home in torrential rain and was helpful, polite and friendly. The car was in very good condition; Ashleigh noted a couple of small dents/marks and took photos. Ashleigh talked us though the car's features and handled the handover the paperwork efficiently, before taking the Mercedes back to the depot.

Follow-up · Received Toyota SUV with low kms. Car's condition was excellent. Car was delivered on time at the smash repairer premises. Ashleigh who delivered the car went thru the car's operation. She was very professional. One disappointment. I made 2 separate reminder phone calls during booking process requesting for a child restraint seat. Despite my 2-reminder request, on the day the car was delivered I was told that no child seat was available.

Their clarity of judgment and calm professionalism stood out. I came across Carbiz and read their excellent reviews. I was hesitant at first because it seemed too good to be true, but gave them a call. I spoke with Yan who was very helpful, calm and professional and he explained clearly how the process works. After the paperwork was processed, they contacted me the next day to inform that a rental car was available and they could deliver it to my place. On the day of delivery, Tim messaged me that they could come early with a Mercedes Benz GLB200 SUV. The car was delivered by Atalia, a very kind and friendly person. She explained clearly about the terms and conditions of the hire. The whole process was smooth. The rental car is nice and pleasant to drive. It was a surprise to me because the rental car is from the same maker as mine and also the latest model. First, the positives:
- They supplied a like-for-like replacement vehicle, which made a big difference to day-to-day life.
- The speed was exceptional - I contacted them on a Sunday, and within three hours a car was arranged and delivered by 7:00pm that same night. That level of responsiveness is almost unheard of.
I’ll be honest, at the time, I was very sceptical. The turnaround felt almost too good, and I was concerned it might come back to bite me. I went through their terms and conditions carefully and noticed clauses suggesting that if they couldn’t recover costs from the at-fault party’s insurer, I might be liable.
To their credit, I raised this directly and obtained written confirmation from their legal team clarifying that I would not be personally pursued - which gave me the confidence to proceed.
After the car was returned, I did receive a call a couple of months later advising that the other party’s insurer was disputing payment and asking if I’d be willing to assist if needed. I agreed, but since then I haven’t heard anything further.
Overall, based on my experience, they’ve acted professionally and in good faith throughout. The process worked as intended, and I wasn’t left exposed.
Only minor gripe: I accidentally left my eTAG in the vehicle and wasn’t able to recover it - frustrating, but that was my fault.
Final verdict: Despite my initial hesitation, this turned out to be a very smooth experience. I’d confidently recommend Carbiz to others in a similar situation.
