I have always found the nurses and carers and other staff to be courteous and very careing. Each wing in the facility is maintained in first class condition and any mishaps i have seen have been promptly attending to. I don't hesitate to recommend Colthup Manor to family and friends. Knowing my mother is happy and safe – My mother was quite anxious about going into care but after a few weeks she said to me "while it's not my own home, I'm happy here. They take such good care of me, and I don't need to struggle anymore". It warms my heart to know she feels this way. Show reply

Best Aged Care Facility – Without doubt the most caring and respectful aged care facility I could of found for my mum. Nothing is too much. Colthup Manor has set the bar high in our area in providing specialised care for our loved ones! The team in Jacaranda not only provide high quality care and support for the residents but family as well to help everyone manage the transition into care. Each resident is treated with love and respect and we have been so happy to see mum settle in so well and be happy and enjoying her time in her new home.

was comfortable. She surprised the doctor and staff by springing back to better health. Mum loves the food and often says how nice it is. It took her a couple of weeks to settle in at first but now she calls it home. She joins in some of the activities and always greets her visitors with a smile and no complaints. Our family are so thankful for all the staff - they are friendly, helpful and efficient. At 104 Mum is enjoying life as much as she is able and we know she is in the very best place for her. happening with my parent and take the time to assist all residents with what ever they need on any given day. This care facility is run by a very knowledgeable, professional, experienced and caring Centre Director who ensures family are included in any care plans and decisions for our loved ones and is supported by excellent nursing staff and RN. The facility is extremely clean, there is in-house laundry (and labelling of clothing) as well as an excellent menu with food prepared fresh on site. The grounds are also well maintained and a pleasure to take your loved one out on a walk. The Manor ensures residents have access to hair cuts, nail grooming, resident doctors who regularly attend the facilities and a range of entertainment, outings, games and hobby areas. We looked at nearly 15 aged care homes before we chose the Manor and have never regretted the decision. I would give this facility 5 out of 5 stars.

Very caring staff – My friend didn't want to go into care but she was no longer able to go home from hospital. fully express the relief and gratitude I feel knowing my dad is not only in a safe environment as he becomes more and more physically incapable, but he's also in a caring environment. Each staff member I've dealt with has been wonderful. The time and effort that goes into creating a full calendar of events that have been thoughtfully modified to suit the residents' needs is astounding. Each month features a theme for the events and activities, creating interest and variety. The meals are of a high quality and the feed back and communication if there are concerns is quick and honest. We are blessed indeed to have found such a clean, comfortable and caring place for this stage of dad's journey in life.

For peace of mind – My mother moved into Colthup Manor over two months ago. The staff and residents have made her feel very welcome and part of the family. required. After 18 months in the Jacaranda Ward, Mum was progressed on to the nursing home section. Again, she was looked after with great love and care, by all those around her. In her final days, Dad and I spent a couple of weeks by her bedside, around the clock. We knew that she had been well cared for in the past, however this is when we really got to see the love and attention that these special people gave Mum, Dad and I. We can never thank Colthup Manor enough for the way they enabled us to be with her, to see the way they treated her with dignity and love. They were amazing and in this time we developed a true love and respect for these wonderful people. In our praise we include ALL of the staff, from the office, nursing, laundry, kitchen, cleaning and ground staff, who would all pop in to check on us, and Mum. My Mum, Kathleen Rogers, left us in August 2022, but we will always be thankful for being able to closely share her final days, and to be surrounded by so many special people. Thank you Colthup Manor from the bottom of our hearts.

This is an awesome facility – Since moving my parents in to Colthup in 2019 they have been wonderful. They handled Covid extremely well under challenging circumstances. many thoughtful surprises. Mum was charmed by the contents which were unexpected and distracted her from fretting when we left. She was also given a white board and marker to help the staff and visitors to communicate with Mum who is profoundly deaf.

Subsequently, we found mother’s special dietary needs are well catered for by the chef and staff. The residents gather for meals in the main dining room and have high quality, multiple choices from the menu. Throughout the day morning & afternoon tea, and a variety of fruit are available.

Each month throughout the year there are numerous activities planned for residents to enjoy and in which to participate. Enormous planning goes into the Octoberfest with German food, Mothers’s Day, Ipswich Show with individual Show Bags, St Patrick’s Day lunch, Melbourne Cup, Titanic Lunch & Glamour photographs as well as a wonderful pre - Christmas lunch to which family members were welcome. Santa arrived to clapping & laughter, with carefully chosen presents for residents. The joy on those elderly faces greeting Santa was as radiant as any school children. Mobile library, games, cognitive awareness activities, board games, movie screenings, singalongs, musical afternoons, craft activities, newspapers and magazines are available if residents are interested. Each month an impressive Colthup Manor magazine is distributed to all residents and visitors. Interesting and informative with numerous colour photographs of activities and residents is an insight into this special community. The impact of Covid has been factored into the running and management of Colthup Manor. The precautions taken to keep everyone safe has made much more work for all staff and management. We are grateful for all the support, care and professionalism shown to our mother. Our original reservations disappeared very quickly, replaced by our trust and gratitude that Mum is receiving the best of care.
