An absolute joke
This cruise line refunds customers via a cheque posted in the mail. This cruise line never checks to confirm your address, nor do they notify you that you’re not going be refunded into the bank account you booked with. They send thousands of dollars in the post to an address you booked the cruise with and not the UPDATED address you put on your cruise account. This cruise line uses outdated payment methods and procedures. Steer clear if you value your time and money. I’ve reported them to the ACCC with hopes that nobody else ever has to experience what I did (still waiting for a refund... 3 months later ).

Pacific Islands Cruise Feb23-Mar1 2020. Isle of Pines (Cancelled due to Coronavirus restrictions) rescheduled to Moreton Island (also cancelled due to weather) & Noumea. This cruise ended up with a single day in port (Noumea) and the only compensation offered was $50 between three people.
We have completed dozens of cruises and quite frankly found this probably the worst.
The ship blatantly broke maritime law cancelling the safety briefing before or within 24hrs of leaving Sydney port.
Food was ordinary and nothing to write home about. Restau...

Full on party cruise but not for everyone
When looking at youtube/pictures the ship looked gaudy & tacky,& yes it was but after being 0n board & really looking around felt more like Alice in Wonderland & Willy Wonkers chocolate factory & it grew on you & made you feel happy.Staff was excellent & no problem with food, thought thay did pretty well with the numbers on board can,t expect perfection on a budget cruise.. Drinks reasonably priced as expected. Hygiene pretty non existing till day 7 when hand sanitizer appeared everywhere & self service stopped, rumour was there was gastro on ...
Read moreboard, they should have had their act together earlier.Entertainment pretty average, some was OK but daytime activities pretty poor. How much trivia do you want? & most seminars were just sales pitch for the spa.I don,,t mi d a bit of partying but also like to chill out Tried to find some quiet areas after dinner to listen to some quiet music & have a drink but didn,t exist, piano bar didn,t open till 10pm some nights,on other cruises neverhad this happen. So if you like to party 24/7 then this is the cruise for you The kids seemed to be well catered for, a good number on our cruise but wouldn,t like school holiday time when there would be too many Used the gym daily & one of the best gyms we have found on a cruise ship. Some say the cabins are a bit dated butI liked the old world feel they have, but we are all different, I won,t go on another carnival cruise as it was not my style, but u understand others who like this atmosphere would have a ball ,but remember it is a budget cruise so don,t expect too muchFind out how Carnival Cruises compares to other Cruises

Extremely disappointing cruise 5 nights Sydney to Hobart 18-23 March 2020.
Booking process was terrible, Buffet areas full of staff with few who could speak English. Hygiene was disgusting in buffet areas no-one was supervising hand sanitising or people picking up food with their hands instead of tongs. Hand sanitisers were left empty on many occassions. On 1 instance I told a staff member that it was empty, he said someone had gone to get it refilled so I went to another sanitiser which was also empty. I ended up eating & when I left 1/2 hour later the Sanitisers were still empty. Not good enough especially when t...
Read morehere was already Caronavirus in China & on board other ships. Momo who is supposed to look after guests & manage games etc on board is extremely rude & needs to learn some manners in how to treat the passengers with respect I found him extremely offensive. This is the first ship that I have been on that didn`t have a movie channel in your room as too many times you could`nt get a seat to participate in various games etc so we had to go to our room. Everyone was getting continually lost on board as the ship only has 2 decks that you can walk from one end of the ship to the other. Paperwork re embarkation was supposed to have be put in rooms regarding whether you wanted to have your bag taken for you to the dock or take it yourself was not provided, leaving many elderly people to have to struggle to get their bags to the dock. Because I had to cancelled a previous cruise which had a $300 on board credit voucher & I rescheduled this one I was told on rebooking that I would still get my $300 voucher for my early booking, that never happened. We were also told we would receive a questionaire to give feedback regarding our cruise very shortly after leaving the ship via email & here it is a month later still no email has arrived. The only good parts was the cleanliness of our room & the terrific dining room staff. We will not be using Carnival again.Emma J.Metropolitan Adelaide, SA
never again. ever. i'd rather swim to the islands.
Couldnt go to 4 of our 5 islands. 2 were replaced but we recieved miniscule compensation for the itinerary changes. we did not pay to spend 10 of 12 days on the boat.
Customer service was awful in every situation we encountered. They lost a cake we'd ordered to the restaurant for a mates birthday one night and the restaurant staff told me it must be my fault. spoke to every boss we could get our hands on. it was their fault. But they just aren't in it to help the customers out.
EVERYTHING was a rip off. The incessant 'fun' vibe gets stale and annoying after 10 minutes. Need a bigger adults area. club was bad. food was even worse, almost never served hot.

Our Least Favourite Cruise Line!
We tried Carnival Splendor at the last minute due to another trip being cancelled because of Coronavirus. We were keen to give Carnival a go having not tried them before. Sadly we won’t be trying them again. I will go through Pros and Cons. Pros - more space in cabins; food generally really nice, but mainly ate in dining room; comfy bed; great wait staff. Cons - seemed very disorganized; worst example of a muster we’ve ever seen; too many people for ship size; attracts a rough crowd due to cheap fares; too many children even though school had j...
Read moreust gone back; nowhere peaceful to chill, extremely noisy all the time; very lax when it came to cleanliness, nobody enforced hand sanitizing (hello Coronavirus??); no real entertainment on sea days; shows although good did not really involve anyone apart from ships company (there were a couple of outside entertainers, but for ten nights that was it); kids run riot; Casino open to kids running through it; confusion around what to do when going ashore - poor communication in general. Unfortunately there is more but I think that’s plenty to think about. We’ve cruised with three other cruise lines and this was by far the most disappointing. We will never go with these guys again but as they are a cheap option I’m sure they will not be too bothered by that! I do want to say we still enjoyed our break as these things are what you make them!!dddMelbourne
Don't do it
Line up for hours to get on.Food substandard and so many people hit by viruses vomiting etc.
Food is laid out on trays hours before buffets open.Vanuatu inspector advised poor health handling of food .

No Impressed - During & After... Disappointing
Just arrived back from Splendor on Sunday 1 March 2020, 7 day trip. Originally told it was newly renovated, when I was disappointed with the old pink decor and was not sure how it was a better newer ship. 2nd; It was a very very large ship with alot of people, which was fine!! However the staff, especially in the dining area did not seem to cope. Our dinner was at 7.45pm, If we were 5 minutes late after our sitting time, we were rushed at ordering, when we questioned it, we were told the kitchen closes at 8.15pm and they would not be able to...
Read more put in anymore orders.. NOT happy, even at times I would order wine & they would forget to bring it... As staff were struggling I chose not to hassle them again... More than 1 occasion this occurred. I have approached the service desk numerous times for different reasons.. I can recall only 1 time a staff member smiled, joked, easy to talk to, once ONLY amazing service and it was 1.30am.. every other time... No smile, quickly answer the question with no passion, barely looked at us while we were talking, NO customer service at all... NO help at all! So disappointed! LETS not mention the disappointing kids club... I thought it was the best most family friendly cruise.. Ok finished my week holiday and I'm back home now.. yeahhh Had my account linked to my card so they can debit as they go. I kept track of my spending throughout my journey and upon my arrival. Every transaction is deducted and pending, then they withdraw the whole amount and they advise me afterwards that after 5 days when we know the amount is cleared then we will release the pending amount... I'snt that called double dipping. If staff have advised me that from the word GO I would have put money in my account and not linked.. Now for 5 days Im left with NO money, not everyone has excess money on the side... Overall I DO NOT recommend Carnival... It takes alot from me to be unhappy! Never again on Carnival.. Aussie Bargain Bogan Cruise Ship
The worst cruise we have ever done in 14 previous cruises. Carnival the aussie bargain boat. Ifyou are looking for a cheap cruise with terrible showtime theatre productions, very low quality food, tired staff, kids being unsupervised and running rampant all over the ship, long lines for everything then this is the cruise for you. We did a 7 night Moreton Island Noumea Cruise that we couldnt tender to Moreton Island due to high seas. $50 obc for the cancellation. Noumea was very nice but most people being 1st time cruisers bought excursions on b...
Read moreoard when of course they are half price on shore. Elegant nights, people wearing tank tops, thongs etc just bogan. Meal in restaurants elegant night worse than our local pubs. We still managed to have fun dining with others and sharing our experiences as they too felt the same way. Do yourself a favour. Forget it....Find out how Carnival Cruises compares to other Cruises

RIDE THE CARNIVAL SPLENDOR BENDER
We had five nights last week on the Carnival Splendor,
A tired pink ship recently re-decorated in some hallucinated mind bender.
What was sold as the newly renovated Carnival Mona-Lisa,
Looked more like a gaudy uncoordinated mix-match of a pink, patchy pizza!
We had high expectations for this cruise to Tassie with the money we paid,
And even naive enough to purchase for the “Faster to the Fun” upgrade!
But we were sadly awoken by this facade of smooth marketing disguise ,
The “Faster to the Fun” guarantee of no lines, room ready upon arrival, first off and on, appears to be just a facade of lies!

Not worth it. Shady business practices.
Booked a 12 day cruise for 2 adults and a 21 month old departing Melb and going to Pacific Islands.
After boarding the ship we were told we wouldn't be able to visit any of the islands in New Caledonia apart from Noumea (capital city) due to Coronavirus. We were told we would instead go to Port Vila (capital city of Vanuatu). Bad start.
At least we still had Mystery Island to go to. Nah, that got cancelled due to rough waters (which crew were aware of before we departed). Instead we would go to Santo.
So we have gone from 5 days on tropic...
Read moreal islands to 1 day on Santo, 1.5 days in Port Vila and 1 day in Noumea. Not whatsoever what we signed up for. I get that weather happens and Coronavirus is out of your control but you already knew that we wouldn't be going to the islands we had paid to go to ahead of time. Offer a refund, that should be your cost of operating in this environment, not the consumers. Day 2 on the ship, 100km winds, 5m waves and all the pools are closed. Great. Too many passengers for that ship size
Been on Carnival Legend before and had a great time, but my cruise on the Splendor was not so much.
Crew were fantastic, room was comfortable beds good, only problem there were way too many passengers and way too many kids, I purposely booked after school holidays but there was so many kids way too many.
3900 passengers on a ship that size was ludicrous, shame on you, long waits for everything only place no queues was the casino..
Would never go on Carnival again, Fun Ship? How about Bum Ship.
4am in the morning kids running up and down corridors, parents need reporting to child services, taking them out of school and ruining my holiday thank you very much.
Food was boring tasteless and basically the same everyday.
Should ask for a refund.
Poor quality ship
Sailed on Carnival Splendor from Sydney on 28th January 2019
No issues booking and boarding. Staff all came across as friendly. Room neat and tidy and appeared clean. Serviced each day with care by wonderful and caring steward who always checked in with us and enquired about our day. Offered information on ports and really wanted to help.
After sailing on the Carnival Spirit I could not help comparing the two ships and felt that Sydney was cheated out of a better ship. This ship in aesthetics was horrible. Looked like bits and pieces of deco...

Coronavirus Cancellation
I can only say the booking service was very professional. I had to contact Carnival on three seperate occasions and every conversation was professional and informative. Unfortunately after contacting several travel Insurance Companies I realised we would not be insured under any circumstance if our claim had any connection to the Coronavirus. I am so disappointed as the cruise was for my 60th birthday so the timing of the cruise was important. I was hoping to maybe freeze the deposit to use on a later cruise, hoping in time the situation may se...
Read morettle and be contained but alas this was not an option. I will hopefully have the chance to travel on a Carnival Cruise in the not too distant future and thank you for all your assistance with my decision making.deniseSydney Surrounds, NSW
Full payment for an infant
How can u justify paying for a 6 to 12 month old baby full fare. They don't eat, watch entertainment, drink. Totally disgusting and you have now lost 6 adult fares because of it. I could understand a cot fee and maybe a small charge but full fare...NO...that is just wrong!

Currently of a Cruise no peace or quiet
Currently on a South Pacific cruise our cabin on deck 8 being kept awake as music thumps down through the 80's Rock party on Lido deck 9. Its now 12:40 am and there is no escaping the thumping loud drumming music.
Its our first shore day tommorrow and even with earplugs in I cannot kerp the noise out to get to sleep. We paid for rest and relaxation yet between noisy neighbours and thumping loud deck parties thats the joke of the day to which my response is not laughter... Dont do it too yourself.
Crew in general otherwise lovely but peace and rest are limited options in this current experience....

Impeccable customer service
Booked my second carnival cruise with my family this year and there was an issue with my future cruise credit which a helpful lady named Pam from the lead desk took the time to resolve for me. It was quite a lengthy and difficult situation and she handled it very professionally and made the whole booking process much easier for me. Very impressed with her service.

Poor value for money
We paid premium for a 12 night Christmas cruise. In all we had a good time but we both come back sick. The sore throat, high fever, cough etc started on the 2nd week on board.
The positives:
Friendly staff, the destination, beautiful tropical islands. The people you meet on the cruise.
The negatives:
Lack of hygiene in buffet, long queues at the buffet esp if you want to use the toaster. Sides bar was a salmonella breading ground. Plastic cups not dried, perfect breathing ground for bacteria. Sticky tables, long queues at breakfast. Only pl...

Overcrowded understaffed floating disease carrier.
Overcrowded, understaffed, staff need training, poor hygiene and came home with the Carnival cough.
I have cruised on P & O 3 times, and Princess once.
This is my first Carnival cruise.
I travelled with my wife and my 2 adult kids.
I was very healthy and immunised before this cruise.
My following review is covering all positive and negative about this cruise we experienced.
It's my opinion and I am comparing to past cruises that I have been on.

Money grabbing & not for the guest
Awful, nasty experience. Jeez where do I start?? I will dot point..
* the room had ONE power point. That's all. Called guest services and asked for an extension cord as I have a cpap machine. They didn't know what an extension cord was.
* The so called lemonade is lemon cordial, the iced tea was a really strange flavour. Coffee from the machine was actually undrinkable... it was like drinking the grinds and hot water. We bought two cappuccinos from a cafe and they were barely coffee... so NO coffee for the whole trip
* At brekky they have 2 toa...

Alcoholic drink package is $119/day and all adults must get it. So 2 adults In 1 cabin on 18 night cruise is $4284. Carnival customer support can’t give me the price of a beer on spirit. 15 drinks in the package is $7.90 each if you drank your full entitlement every day (heaven help my liver!!). Anyone know how much a beer is on Spirit??

A pint or large can of Heineken is $8.50 so you would need to drink 14 pints per day! A margarita is about $12 if I remember correctly. You would have to drink a lot to make it worthwhile! I spent about $1,600 for a family of 3 over 12 nights and had plenty to drink, bought stuff in shops, went to the casino etc. That drink package is so expensive!
15 drinks per day is a lot. We just came back off carnival.for 7 nights. Did not take drinks package as we drink about 6 drinks per day.
Don’t get me wrong I couldn’t drink 15 drinks every day for 15 days but hubby is Scottish so... the cap on the package is 15 alcoholic drinks per day and all adults in cabin need to get it if 1 wants it. At $8.50 a pint I think we’ll go on pay as you go. Maybe some days he will drink 15 pints but not likely every day and I certainly won’t!! Carnival customer support refused to give each price so I couldn’t work out if the package was expensive. It certainly seemed a lot to me!!
