Do not use - 100% overcharge and underdeliver – DO NOT USE CARPET CLEANING MELBOURNE https://carpetcleaningsmelbourne.com.au/ I was overcharged by 100% for a job that was 70% complete, and my elderly mother was taken advantage of (financial exploitation). - OVERQUOTING & OVERCHARGED - I was quoted $236 and charged $572 for a residential carpet clean (our usual annual carpet clean for our house is $220). I have called their 1300 number to try to understand the breakdown of the extraordinary $572 cost, particularly given the cleaner was also only able to do 70% of the job (3.5 of the 5 rooms). They have not provided this breakdown, and have stopped replying to my messages. - CHARGING WITHOUT AUTHORITY FROM CUSTOMER, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY MOTHER. I spoke to the cleaner upon his arrival at my house. I was not home so I let him know that I had arranged for my mother to let him in and that she would arrive in 10 minutes (he was 30 minutes early to the pre-agreed time we had arranged). He then proceed to verbally 're-quote' the job to my elderly mother at $500+ (from $236) to which my mother nodded as she was simply there to give him access to the house, and had no idea what the quoted price was. If he wanted authority from the customer, he knew that I was just a phone call away. The cleaner saw an opportunity to take advantage of an elderly woman, and took it. The cleaner demanded payment on the spot. Highly un-professional and total lack of integrity. - NO SERVICE, NO REFUND - the company (1300 number) promised to send me a breakdown of the costs for the $572 service but have not done so. I remain uncertain as to why the price more than doubled. - FALSE QUOTING and FALSE ADVERTISING - The company admitted that whilst they quoted $36 per room for carpet cleaning, they would never do the job for under $80 per room. The website is also simply a front for using subcontractors that do not have the tools, service or experience to match the advertising. The website has a 'customer reviews' section which only publishes their own 5 star reviews, some of which appear to be 'bogus' and made up and written by them judging by the similar writing style of each review. I note they did not publish my 1 star review! The company has a 'no refund policy' which is astonishing given they are happy to charge 100% more than quoted.
