Certa Water Resistant Jump Starter

Have bought 3 of these, 1 stopped taking a charge at 13 months old and used for starting a car only twice. Another stopped taking a charge at 19 months old , was used regularly but still died. The third one is still going after being used regularly on a ride on mower and cars. Now just waiting for it to die as the other two did. All bought around 2.5 years ago. Will try another brand when the last one dies.

Planned obsolescence – Lasted a just over a year before it wouldn’t take a charge. Used it maybe half a dozen times, charged my phone off it while camping. But ultimately a waste of time and money. Not something you want to rely on in an emergency. To dicksmiths credit, they refunded me. Won't take a charge – Purchased 2 or three yrs ago. Used it a max of 6 times and was very pleased with it. Took it out 3 months ago, it charged up ok. Went to recharge yesterday and would not charge no matter how long left on. Because it's been hardly used it is in pristine condition, looks like it just came out of the box, but it's useless. Peice of trash! – 12 months old and won't charge. When I really needed it it let me down. It seems a lot of stuff I've bought from Kogan is rubbish. I've uninstaller the Kogan app and stopped my subscription. Show details

Certa jump pack 16000 – Same as all the others, great unit for 12 months. Now 1 blinking blue light and nothing.

Centra jump starters (3 units) fail to charge – I have experienced the same problem with 3 units I purchased from Kogan. 2 were gifts. Cleary this product has significant current leakage issues as it does not hold charge. This is most likely a due to a design fault. very dangerous units that need to be disposed of properly. Tried to get replacements but they are out of warranty so no one cares. Even though after charging, I did not check until I needed them in an emergency. I would NOT recommend this product as it does not perform as per its intended use, when you need it most.

Expensive junk – I purchased two of these jump starters. What a joke. The bigger one is supposed to start up to a 6.5 litre engine. Can’t even start a ride on when freshly and fully charged. would not realise these are poor to no insurance. My Mastercard also reveals I was signed up for their $99 membership annual fee unbeknown to me. CROOKS!

Wish I had read these reviews prior to buying this rubbish – First bought the Certa Jump starter on 24/223 , it was fully charged and put in my boot, all appeared ok till I first tried to use it at a picnic to charge a friends iPhone. power for 24 hours It succeedded in charging my Iphone once only and then would not work at all . I wsa offered a replacement or refund. Silly me , I opted first for replacement thinking I was just unlucky , but then was told they were out of stock, an there was no due date, so I accepted a refund. I paid $106.98 for the origonal unit , My refund $34.99 a difference of $71.99 . I have requested an explanation , each of my e-mails to customer service included my phone number . No answer. Dont work – Bought it new. Charged it fully and stored in car. Tried to use it for first time after 4 months and was dead. different leads but nothing makes any difference. The flashlight briefly flashes as the usb lead is plugged into the micro usb slot but not when plugging into the usb C slot. Both sockets give the one blue led flashing but no charging. The on/off button does absolutely nothing. In desperation I attempted to charge the battery directly by connecting a CTek 5 amp smart charger to the output where the main leads plug in. I measured whether there was any current flowing and there was hardly any in ordinary 12 volt car battery charging mode. However setting the charger for AGM and recon mode did charge the lithium battery and the unit functioned again at least to be able to jump start a vehicle once the lithium battery had regained some charge. Unfortunately the on/off button still does nothing and the unit still will not charge normally using the usb sockets. As so many people have complained about exactly the same issue I am appalled at the lack of response from Certa or Kogan and would advise anyone thinking of buying this unit to look elsewhere.

Battery is crap – The battery lasted just long enough for it to be out of warranty and then it ceased charging. I am trying to work out how to open it and replace the battery, not an easy thing to find. It is likely off to landfill. It worked well, when it had a battery itself. Show details

It dies before I got the chance to use – Bought in Jan 2022 for going for a road trip, fortunately nothing happened so didn't use it. Read the manual and scheduled my calendar to charge it every 3 months as suggested. Today it's my schedule for recharging, but it won't charge anymore (also no power output from it). 18 months life time. Don't buy this. 5 Blue Lights and wont jump start ASX – Whilst the unit has 5 blue lights when connected to the car that needs to be jump started all the lights go out when you attempt to start the car.

was a common problem and found this review site. Other reviewers have flagged the same issue so clearly this problem isn't isolated to the unit that I purchased. This is a rubbish item that Kogan should not be selling. Update. After posting this review I was contacted by Kogan who offered a full unconditional refund which was processes very quickly. I guess the lesson that I'll take from this is that I'll do more research before buying something online.

When ever the situation arises this is useless – I have had this for a year now and find that if it is not topped up with a charge ever other week it will generally deplete to the point of not being of any assistance. down till it clicks and the light goes solid green it wont even turn over. I end up having to use jumper leads hooked up to our little car and it will crank over fine. This is an absolutely useless product unless its for a much smaller car or a motorbike.

Will not charge, support from Kogan is useless – Received the charger, some documentation states it is waterproof and other states water resistant. Certa Water Resistant Jump Starter - Kogan – This has to be one of the most powerful and useful chargers on the market. Has the power to start up the most stubborn V8 engine and has the versatility to power up your mobile devices. Would suspect it could power up a lot more with the right USB connection. Simply brilliant.
