Junk – Just as title says. It's junk. Temp is unreliable you need it on 240 to get 180. Thing heats up the whole outside. Limited adjustment on the burners. Never buy a chef
Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $785.

Great stove. Has been very reliable – Purchased this gas stove for a rental property and it has been very efficient on gas and proved very reliable. It has caused no problem since installation and would not hesitate to buy a Chef unit again in the future. It is easy to clean and has a convection oven.

Low cost and functional – This is a pretty basic gas oven but it does everything I need it to. I have tested it with a thermometre and it runs pretty accurately. If I am cooking something that is particular about temperature I just put the thermometre in to be sure it's right. All in all, for the money, it's been great so far and I do enjoy doing a lot of cooking. It's easy to clean. The only thing I don't like much is the griller. The tray is tricky to get in and out, and when you are using it, you can't pull the tray out all the way. It's also a smaller grilling tray than the earlier Chef model I had. The oven space is larger though, as is the viewing window. It does not have a timer or an internal light but this is not a problem for me as I use an external timer anyway. FYI, there is automatic ignition on the griller & oven, but not the elements. I was aware when I bought it and preferred to save money. I'm very happy with it overall.

Very Nice Looking, Works O.K. No Complaints – Works fine, so far. Push button oven and griller. Cooks nice even toast and bakes lamb nicely. I think gas ovens cook quicker and the top burners are great for even heat. Like the knob function as to half way is full on and keep turning to full and it goes to low, saves trying to adjust it manually, but can be as you wish for the exact amount of heat. This is only one reason why I love gas cooking. A stove works as you treat it, keep it clean and it will serve you well I believe. It has a very basic structure which is great for cleaning and looking after. And at a fraction of the big prices others are, you can't go wrong, if I can get 5 or more years out of it I will be thinking it's money well spent. Being on my cruiser with salt air and all else I would be thinking of replacing it around that time for one the same if it's gotten too dirty and rusty.

A very inferior product – I have had 2 Chef Gas stoves before buying the CFG503WALP from Good Guys around 9 months ago. This stove has been a great disappointment. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The oven, in particular, is very poor......roast dinners cook unevenly whether or not they are moved up and down from one tray to another. After a number of attempts I have given up on trying to cook puff pastry in the oven......it either turns into a flat soggy skin or burns to a black crisp. It is impossible to get a stable even temperature.
A young man from Electrolux has contacted me and advised to let the oven preheat for 30 mins before using it. He seems to think this might solve all my problems. Will test it out in the next few days and try cooking a pie with puff pastry. If this doesn't solve the problem he suggests that a service man from Electrolux may check out the thermostat. Will post the outcome.
