Perfect size for growing baby – Loved this bed for my son it’s very light and easy to move around only problem is the zipper has broken which is a shame as the bed is still like new and I’m now unable to use for my next baby.I think it’s a common problem with this bed.
Lifesaver for breastfeeders – I started out with a boori bassinet but felt it to be too flimsy for my liking (the sleeping area). I quickly researched bassinets and got my partner to go and get this. I loved it! I don't understand the reviews that say it can't be easily moved away from the bed.. well yes i thought that that's the point of a co-sleeper? It would be unsafe if it… Read more
easily moved away?? I strapped this to my bed and found it sturdy and practical to take my baby out without getting out of bed. You do have to scoot to the end of the bed to get out but i assumed that was part of having a co sleeper bassinet. The mattress is firm, but good for a newborn mattress and I liked how sturdy it was, and his blankets tucked in well and stayed tucked in. The bassinet is also larger than a normal one so he was in it for over 6 months. One of the zips broke when I was packing it away when he outgrew it and the company sent me a new cover which was amazing. I will be using this with my next baby for sure.
Brilliant – Its brilliant best thing I bought for my little girl I will be using it for my next baby girl it’s also brilliant if you intende to breast feed easy to just reach over and get them allso can be taken apart to wash and her head Is perfectly round :)
Causes Flat Head – This bassinet is a good size but it is very heavy and not easily transferable between rooms. If you have a bed frame rather than an ensemble it is very difficult to get it to sit flush with the mattress. The biggest downside to this bassinet is the rock hard mattress. Although I knew to rotate my baby's head, the mattress is so hard that she very… Read more
quickly got a flat head. This is extremely upsetting. If you decide to buy be sure to invest in a mattress for it or find some way to safely pad it out. So disappointed.
Great for newborn – Bought this product as it was recommended by a colleague. I have been using it for three weeks now and it's great. Bub is sleeping next to us but in her own cot which is safe. Easy to resemble and foldable. Would recommend to new parents. I got mine second hand from gumtree.
Confused with other reviews as i found this indispensable! – - The legs spring back when you move the bassinet; this ensures that you strap the bed to your bed to ensure bub won't fall - You need to scoot down when you leave the bed because the bed is strapped; this secures that your bub is safe, i had a caesar and found it no problem scooting down - The mattress is firm because this is for a newborn, and… Read more
safe sleep says you need a firm mattress
The only con I see is that I had to purchase separate sheets as chicco does not sell any
Not easy to move around – The good thing about this bassinet is that it is bigger than other bassinets so you can use it for longer. My baby is now 6 months and still sleeps comfortably in it. I found it very impractical for me as i had a cesarean. It was impossible to leave the bed as you cannot push it away easily.
Impractical and poorly designed – I researched this product before I purchased it, however there are very few reviews on the internet so I was kind of making an uninformed descision. This bassinet is not what I thought it would be. It is impractical and poorly thought out/designed. In theory it should be a bassinet that allows mum and baby to maximise their sleep. why it doesn't do what you think it will do.
The CONS
1. It only has very small wheels on one end. Meaning that to move it you have to lift one end. If you have just given birth or had a ceasar then lifting it is not an option.
2. The wheels are not swivel wheels, which make it very hard to move out of the way if you need to get out of bed. The bassinet can only be moved back and forth, not side to side or in any other direction.
3. The legs don't stay folded in. The legs fold in so that it can be placed flush up against a bed/bed frame. When you move try to move the bassinet so you can get out of bed the legs spring back out, meaning when you want to get back in to bed you have to bend over and fold the feet back in. Again if you have just given birth this is so impractical as bending over isn't always easy.
4. Sleeping with the side down: when the side is down the bassinet is supposed to be strapped to your bed which means it can not be moved. So if you need to get out of bed you have to shuffle down to the end of your bed to get out. We all know that you have to get up for what ever reason multiple times through the night, again after birth shuffling down to the end of your bed and trying to get out of bed is not only hard, but I'm sure that getting out of bed this way would be discouraged by your doctor while recovering from birth.
5. It's very unstable. The legs are poorly designed and the bassinet rocks in an unsafe way.
6. The mattress is very hard.
7. It's wider than most bassinets, it takes up a lot of room which is not ideal if you have a small bedroom.
The PROS
If you don't want to use it as a co sleeper and you have a very large bedroom then it would be fine to use as a normal bassinet.
Good co-sleeper – Purchased for our three week old daughter, as I wanted her close to our bed. First impressions are that it is not as stable as I thought it would be, when standing alone. However, strapping it to the bed does make it a lot more stable. The mattress is very thin and very hard. My daughter seems to take longer to settle in this bassinet than she… Read more
does in her cot, and my personal opinion is that this is because the mattress is very hard. The bottom board is inside the mattress, so the mattress is not washable. I also found that as we have a very high bed, at its highest level the bassinet still sits well below our mattress. Portable, able to sleep close to infant, height adjustable, able to put on an incline for babies with reflux Does not work well with higher beds. Mattress is not washable. Mattress is very hard.
