Chiropedic Bed Base

After reading the reviews we were looking forward to receiving this bed base. We found there are design faults with the bed base and the actual pieces are also not well made. Whoever designed the Velcro slat attachment system has absolutely no idea of stability in a bed. The Velcro connections offer no support to the base at all and it simply… Read more
has no strength. When moving on the bed you can hear the Velcro tearing back and forth and the base itself moves far more than it should, a dreadful and very inefficient design. The Velcro attachments are also very uneven and are do not attach well at all.
After finding the bed frame had absolutely no support and would easily move around, we removed all the Velcro and screwed the slats into the bed frame. This made the whole structure far stronger with no movement or noise.
Still the actual individual pieces that make up the frame are of very poor quality and clearly manufactured in a very cheap manner. We do not recommend buying this bed base as it is not good quality, has serious design problems and is not good value for money.
Very supportive – I wanted something sturdy but with wooden slats. It was delivered to my door and easy to assemble. The velcro on the wooden slats was a nifty idea and makes sure they stay in place and the bed does not creak. So supportive. Also, the surround has a soft covering that ensures my legs don’t scrape and the cover keeps it all dust free. Love it. Show details · 1

Chiropedic Bed Base – Bought this bed base after reading a review from a professional reviewer on their company's website stating that the distance between the slats was 8cm. This is NOT the case. You would think that it would be easy enough to make the gap between the slats equal, especially as they are joined together on a velcro strip. However, there is NO… Read more
CONSISTENCY with the gap distances. For example, one gap could be 6cm and one could be 11cm. Even though there are 14 slats, in my opinion it could do with one more because of the big gap variations (plus most quality bed companies recommend a gap of less than 8cm). The same reviewer also stated that the centre beam was steel. This is also false, it is wooden.
The good news is that there are no squeaks due to metal rubbing on/touching metal. The border and leg supports of the bed base contain steel and feel quite solid. The wood used, including the slats, also feels solid. I believe the wood is pine, not plywood. There are 4 legs. Does it need 6 (2 more in the middle)? Should it be on castors or gliders instead of feet? How will the slats hold up over time; will they massively creak, break or cause the mattress to sag? I don't know the answers to these questions.
What I do know is that the bed base is easy to assemble, comes in a very tall box with inbuilt handle and wheels for hassle free transportation and that the mist grey colour looks great. Chiropedic, could you please add some more details under "Product Description" on your website such as materials used etc so that people can make a more informed choice and not have to visit other websites to find the information.
