Warning - Do Not Use – Do not give these people the chance to rip you off. Stay well away. We just needed a simple carpet stretching because after moving out the carpet had a couple of bubbles. We were quoted $200 - $250. When the person arrived they were with a completely different company (Shieldmate). The guy took a quick look at it and said it would be $280. We questioned this and mentioned the earlier quote and he gave some vague answer about having to do both sides. He then came back and said that he wont be able to do the job 100% because of the way the carpet was (its just standard carpet you'd find in any rental property and apart from the bubbles in pretty good condition). At the time we were in a time crunch and needed it done so we said ok to the 280 and told him to do the best he can. He then comes out about 20 minutes later and said that it cant be done and that he will only charge me $100 as a "call out fee" which was not mentioned at all in the quote. It wasnt until after he left that we noticed he had cut slices out of the outside of the carpet and just placed them back in, so now the entire corner of the room is just hanging there loose and not connected to anything. We called to complain and were told to send photos, which we did. We called back when we didnt hear anything and they said they would get someone to call us, they didnt. now after calling about a dozen times they simply hang up once they know it is us calling (and no, we aren't abusive, and we arent being unreasonable, we're just wanting them to rectify it by at least putting it back the way it was). He didn't even clean up his mess before he left. I am currently in the process of lodging a formal complaint with the office of fair trading and QCAT.
Unreliable - Stay Clear! – My partner booked a carpet cleaning with this company. 30 min past the scheduled time no one had shown up, no text notification of a delay, no call, nothing was received. It took us three calls to this company to finally be told that their van had 'broken down' and that they had to cancel the appointment. So we basically spent more than one hour moving furniture out of, and back into the rooms for nothing. I can only recommend to stay away from these amateurs and hire carpet cleaners that a) can afford a reliable fleet, and b) possess the common courtesy to at least communicate when they are running late or facing other issues.
