Bad customer service – I am shocked by the lack of customer service skills and care by the owner of Collins Book Store in Bunbury, very negative, cold sarcastic and rude style of communicating took me by surprise. Clearly not looking to make any money. Suspecting he is on the spectrum I guess I am looking for a possibility his brain is wired differently therefore his behavior can be understood.

No wonder book shops are going out of business – So today I tried to return a book which I bought before Christmas and which had been sitting in its Collins bag since then. I was told that I couldn't return it because it was out of shape. What? I spent $200 on that receipt alone; I didn't read the book because I was gifted a copy and then I couldn't return it. The staff there can keep their… Read more

disapproval and their books because I will be going elsewhere in future. I am an English teacher and I buy a lot of books, but not at Collins from now on.

Forcing people to put hand sanitizer on when i get a rash – Honestly I also work in retail.. and I understand at a time like this (COVID) we all need to be careful, although forcing me to apply you’re hand sanitizer in store when I explained I have put my own on because I get rashes from other ones is disgusting.. I normally am not a confrontational person at all but this is a CHOICE you can not legally… Read more

force someone to use you’re product of my god.. once I stated no thank you I have applied my own I get reactions to all those ones she said where is the hand sanitizer I need to see it? You need to apply our one it’s policy.. what is this??? Policy or not, if someone says they get a reaction to it you need to be understanding its so disturbing, I of course said well I can’t put it on I’ll leave and she said Yeap! Disgusting will not be returning again. Also yelling from the counter is also so unprofessional.

Perfect!! – As someone who spends a lot of time browsing various bookshops, I am always amazed by Collins Booksellers service. Can't quite remember that title? No worries, the knowledgable staff can nail it every time. Need a gift? No worries, the friendly staff will always lead you in the right direction, including at some stores free giftwrapping with any… Read more

purchase!

Environments great. They always have a great selection of books ranging from classics to modern masterpieces. And once again, the staff are magnificent!

I couldn't praise the store any more even if I tried.

Highly recommended from a loyal customer.

They have no idea! – Ask for a little compassion you get nothing. Don't buy a gift card from Collins Book Store unless you are certain you can use it in the given time, or the person you give it to, can. Over the past 12 months I have been ill, with two surgeries and over 3 months in hospital and rehab, yet ask Collins Book store in Mildura for an extension of 1 week… Read more

and they said no, they even made up lies so they would not have to honour the card. No other state in Australia even has expiry dates. My closest store has closed down and the next closest store said I needed to contact the issuing store. Sorry but I found them heartless.

Great service, good range – I have a soft spot for book shops. I love the smell of a new book as it brings me comfort and instant relaxes me. Collins Booksellers are like that... relaxing and comforting. The sales staff are wonderful at helping to find a book. They also have no hesitation ordering a book not in stock. Prices are a little high sometimes but you will get that… Read more

Good book shop – Collins has always had a good name as a general bookshop, dont try to find anything to specialised as they wont carry specialist books like service and technical manuals. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and if you need a book they dont have, they have always offered to order it in for me. Shame they still sell paper books, all… Read more

bookshops do need to catch up with technoligy, eg try to find a decent atlas in an electronic for, which is a shame as downloading onto a dvd disk or chip is really the way to go. Friendly, helpful staff, with a good range of general books , will order in special books that they dont stock. Some books are a bit expensive compared to other places like Target or Big W .

Excellent – Collins Booksellers has a very friendly atmosphere and is one store i feel quite comfortable shopping in. The stocked range of books is great and it is an easy process to order in something that they dont have on the shelf. I like Collins for the fact that they are a more intimite book store and i would rather spend my money there than at a large… Read more
