"in stock ships in 1-2 days". There was almost no communication about it, and when it did come the books came in separate packages days apart well into January. I should have learned my lesson then, but I thought benefit of the doubt, maybe it was a Christmas post or staffing issue. Sadly no, I ordered books on 25 February all "in stock ships in 1-2 days". I didn't get a confirmation email even though the money went through. It took them two days to reply to my message asking if the order had gone through (which it had) and TWO WEEKS LATER THEY HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN POSTED YET. They sent me a tracking number, but it's only been created, Australia Post hasn't received anything. No communication on reasons for the delay or updates. The website isn't accurate, they don't have stock, no one communicates.

Dear Angus and Robertson - please do not send me anymore unsolicited emails and I will promise never to buy a book from you again.

I think Product Review should be very irritated by Angus and Robertson's attempt to use their service in such a nonsensical manner. I can't imagine anyone wants to read a review on how well Angus and Robertson delivers books (or Australia Post, depending on how you view the activity performed). I mean it is not like they WRITE the books ...

I ordered an electronic gift card on 18 December 2025. It is now 13 January 2026 and the order status remains at "Order Processing". The funds have been deducted from my bank account (this was done within a day or two of placing the order). I have sent three emails to the customer service centre and have had no reply to any of them.

Placed order online at 8:49am on Sunday June 22 2025. Ordered four books that were all in stock and "aim to send in 1-2 working days". Received shipping notification at 9:36pm on Monday June 23 2025. Items arrived at my door at 10:54am Wednesday June 25 2025 (a bit over 3 days after order was placed). The books were in perfect condition. Great service. Show reply

Well priced. Fast delivery – Needed a book for my daughter high school english. Timing was of the essence. Purchased online and it was well priced and arrived in 3 days.

day) I requested to cancel the order and got almost an immediate reply canceling the order and telling me they weren’t able to process it. So why wasn’t this communicated immediately? I now have to purchase the book elsewhere after a week of waiting and won’t have the book delivered in time.

Ordered book on February 14th. Said it aimed to ship within 3-5 weeks. Received an email update on March 10 saying the book arrived damaged and it’ll take another 1-2 weeks for me to receive my book. won’t receive any updates until April 22. I appreciate the communication but the message is mildly infuriating. My recent orders with them have been positive but I felt the need to inform people that this is something that can unfortunately happen.

How are they even allowed to operate??? – Ordered some books worth $176 in June it's now been 3 months with no response whatsoever. I haven't received my books and no response. How are they even allowed to operate collecting people's money and not deliver the goods?

Angus and Robertson are in administration do not trade with them. Product Reviews - adjust your rating scheme – Angus and Robertson are not answering emails since their parent went into administration. Nor responding here on Product Review. or recent weighting to their ratings. It matters little how good Angus and Roberson were from their 92% previous positive reviews. If ProductReviews truly want people to be informed and warned, they need to reflect the complete change in the basis of the company, and rate them according to probably the now overwhelming 100% of 0 star reviews they have in the last few months. Not everyone knows they are in administration and yet it seems you can still order books from the website.

received an email to let me know one particular book would be put on a back order and would arrive in 4-6 weeks. The back order book arrived earlier than expected in May. The other two that I thought would arrive earlier have still not arrived. I sent an email around late June to ask the whereabouts of the two books. I received an email after 3 days to say they were still being sourced and to expect them in around 4 weeks. It is mid August now and they still haven’t arrived. I sent an email approximately 6 days ago and still no reply. I cannot phone them as there is no phone number, only email. I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. I guess I can say goodbye to my money. It is funny how they cannot source the books for me and yet they are available on other sites including eBay.

ORDER NOT RECEIVED/EMAILS NOT RETURNED – Wish I could've given 0 stars. I ordered a book back in May and still haven't received it. I've email 5 times with no response. Strange that they're still taking orders considering they've gone into administration.

Terrible – Ordered item on 26 June. Received email advising item had been delayed and would arrive 1 August. No further communication. Package not arrived and Angus & Robertson not responding to any queries regarding the package. Will never order through them again. Order no. 11061294

Orders not honoured – A total of 4 books from 2 orders did not arrive and I suspect afters months never will. In stock means nothing. They will not respond to your emails. Simply conserve your time and energy and take your business elsewhere.

No order arrived in 6 weeks – I placed an order for a boxed set of books on the 14 June as a guest account which is an option you offer. Worst service ever! Do not shop with Angus & Robertson – I have ordered $150 worth of books that all stated were "in stock". Not "in stock with our suppliers" just in stock. It has been over a month and I have received nothing and now they have change it to "out of stock". Just an automated email saying that my order has been received. I have sent two emails through their forms but no reply has been sent. They have no way to contact them other than the form. DO NOT SHOP HERE

Pathetic – I unfortunately ordered 3 books on 18/6/24, value of $150. Just realised why I never received these books, or responses to my queries, Angus & Robertson online are part of Booktopia group who have gone into administration. May have to write this one off. In the interim, ordered another book from the UK, arrived in 13 days.. from the UK yet this Australian retailer can't deliver an 'in stock' book within a fortnight.. I'll keep waiting but last time I'll purchase from them, offshore for me now and it's their fault if their PPPerformance means a loss of Aussie jobs.

another email 4 days ago with no response. I wanted to call the company today to follow up and request a refund, but there is no customer number to call. So now I’ve sent a request for an immediate refund of my money. I am starting to think that they have ripped me off! There is no transparency!! Next step is to lodge a complaint with the ACCC. Poor service – I have ordered 3 books 4 weeks ago and were told they were in stock only to find out that they were not. 4 weeks later and 3 emails and still no reply and no books. What the hell is that

Non-existent customer service – I ordered "Motherling', IBAN 9781925902044 on June 18 2024 and have not received the book. I used the contact form on the AR website three times, each time receiving an acknowledgment promising that I would be contacted, but have received nothing. I simply can't believe the arrogance of AR, worsened by reading other comments from people who have had the same experience.

later, with no further contact from Angus & Robertson and after I initiate contact to find out what the delay is - I discover that I cannot ring them, they can only be contacted by email necessitating further week long delays and numerous emails to discover that they have no idea when stock should arrive but most likely within next 4-6 weeks. Upon requesting refund, I am refunded for the 2 books not delivered however charged full postage fee (a paltry amount I will concede) for the one book they did deliver (separately, which was not by my choice and I would have ordered elsewhere for cheaper had it not been for ordering the three books together) - however given the complete lack of communication, lengthy delays and extremely poor communication, it really sours the experience. In fact, despite numerous requests asking for review of the postage fee refund in good faith, customer service hasn't even bothered to reply to date. Needless to say, I recommend buying elsewhere - Amazon Au for example!
