I wasn’t sure how many stars to put on this review. I bought a pair of Newton Ridge hiking boots, and absolutely loved them; they are the most comfortable and lightweight boots ever. However, after 6 weeks I realised they had worn a hole in the lining of the toe box. I contacted Colombia Australia, who told me to take them back to Anaconda, the… Read more
place of purchase. I did so, and have to say Anaconda were great and replaced them without an issue, although they said Colombia would probably say it was wear and tear, and therefore not warranty. However, six weeks later, almost to the day, the liner of the new pair has once more worn away inside the toe box. They are the comfiest boots I have ever had, but they aren’t particularly robust. I am really only concerned because the hole in the lining compromises the waterproofing, and in the wet season in the tropics, waterproofing is key. I wear them at least twice a week, and have probably walked in the region of 100 - 150 km. Was hoping they would last a bit longer. So, 5 stars for comfort; 2 for longevity.
Own a pair of Columbia hiking boots bought a few years back.never worn.kept in original box in wardrobe .took out to wear on hiking trip but was unable to wear due to soles blue gell area melted in to box.was stuck to box

Glue fails with light (regular) use after 18months. The soles detach from the shoe, and the bottom of the sole detaches from the base. Contacted Columbia who were totally unhelpful, they advised that it is due to wear and tear. (The soles and shoe look well cared for to me). I care for my possessions and don't abuse them.
Purchased two pairs of walking shoes from Colombia Gosford. Within months, one was delaminating and became garbage. I live a long way away so attempted to contact them online. No response. Second pair are okay, but 50% is not good odds. Be careful with the quality.

Not even 1 star worth – Highly disappointed at customer service, hidden return policies, too much stressful shopping with them
Beware buying Columbia Men’s Hiking Boots!!! – Paid good money and bought a pair of men’s hiking boots November 2021. The boots are now falling apart. Advised store assistant how much I bush walk and she fitted me for the boots. I have now walked approx 1200km, boots only 14 months old and they are falling apart, big time. Don’t buy if you want a good reliable men’s hiking boot. SKYE Group,… Read more
Sydney based who import Columbia products won’t replace the boots. Was told by owner “no pair of hiking boots can sustain the use you have given these boots, and they have served their purpose well !!” Quality control in the manufacture process is questionable. My previous boots lasted 3 years and I did more walking in them over the years.
PFG Fantastic quality and value for walk wear – For several years now I have purchased the PFG (Perfect Fishing Gear) range of Columbia pants and shirts for walking and bike riding and I honestly believe they are the best quality I have seen. When altering the trouser length I have been impressed with the quality and this is reflected in the fact that they don't wear out! The only reason I… Read more
have to keep purchasing new ones is that I am a great walker and find this range perfect in any weather - hot or cold, but they fade over time. It breaks my heart when I eventually have to throw them out and that is only after they have been relegated to gardening first. You can usually find them on special at various outdoor stores. I have purchased the latest 2 shirts and pair of pants from Anaconda. Well done Columbia - I am a fan for life so please don't make any changes to this fabulous range of outdoor clothing.
Columbia Heavenly Snow boots NOT waterproof – Go these boots as a gift and finally got to wear them as it is winter. Wore them for 3 weeks now. They are warm, comfortable and have been waterproof until this morning. I was doing my morning walk on wet grass, when I noticed my right sock got wet - properly. Turns out the fabric in the middle layer has a joint that lets water in. These are SNOW… Read more
boots! They would have gooten a great review, if they remained waterproof. SOOOO disapponted. Of course, I cannot return them. Waster your money not.
Not built to last – There is a 12-month warranty on the Columbia hiking boots and they do last that long, but not much longer. The boots I bought were a few years old and when they fell apart. The thing is, I had not done much hiking in them. With age, the glue and material in the boot deteriorate, so when I pulled them out of the cupboard and went for a hike, they… Read more
fell apart (see the photos). I contacted Columbia to see what they could do for me, but as the boots were older than 12 months, they were not interested.
In summary, if you buy Columbia hiking boots, don't expect them to last much longer than 12 months.
