Lemon Colorado – Commonwealth Motors took my money with a smile, but the car came with multiple faults such as multiple loose bolts, poor oil usage. Commonwealth Motors told me to read the oil consumption letter from Holden which I find offensive because the car uses more oil than fuel. For 3 years I asked for bolts holding the diff in to be tightened as I could see the spring moving, these bolts were never tightened, I challenged what the mechanic said about this and he spoke to me very rudely and told me to go to another dealer. I went to another dealer in Canberra who wanted $400 to do the oil test, which I declined. I phoned and emailed Holden and I felt like I was on a merry go round of emails. My warranty is nearly over which I feel is just a word which means nothing. I have asked Commonwealth Motors for an apology and to explain previous work done as I feel the work was not done properly. They refused to apologise or explain the work. I feel conned and abused. After thought zero stars.

3 year Mechanical Breakdown offer - beware! – Just bought a Pajero Sport from a Commonwealth Mitsubishi dealership in Canberra, attracted by the reduced EOFY price, 5 years warranty and to a large degree swayed by the additional 3 years mechanical breakdown inclusion. Having gone through all the process of finance and signing up to the car purchase, told AT DELIVERY that the mechanical breakdown offer has the condition that the car has to be serviced throughout the warranty period by them and no one else.

My plan never included paying the exorbitant servicing prices Mitsubishi charge and had I been made aware of the condition would have rethought the purchase for sure.

The reaction to my disappointment of how late I was told this? Regrettable 'IF' I wasn't made aware earlier, my choice to have the car serviced with them or not, condition stands as in the fine print, not interested in doing anything.

What about recognising the poor professionalism, striving to maintain a good relationship with a customer, preservation of reputation? This behaviour and reaction plays right to the image of car sales - take the money and not give a toss about the customer. If the detail was deliberately overlooked by the sales staff, this is at best unprofessional and at worst outright underhand. Beware.

Save yourself some frustration, go elsewhere – I unfortunately bought a car from Commonwealth Motors a couple of years ago, the service centre is not very helpful, I have had ongoing issues with the infotainment system and all I get told is you have to be patient, for how long I wonder. When you call to book your car in they never ask if you are having any issues with the car, having had 2 Japanese cars prior to the Holden and always using their dealerships, I can confidently say that Commonwealth Motors has yet to learn the definition of service, because they just don't want to know if you are having problems with the car. If all you need is general servicing then they are not too bad to deal with. Their hire cars are quite expensive compared to other dealerships also. If you need major work done make sure you get a second quote as I know of a couple of people who have been quoted exorbitant prices by Commonwealth Motors only to find another mechanic would do the work for considerably less. I believe you do not have to take new cars back to the dealership but if you want the capped servicing then you have no choice.
