Mine began smoking on first use, smoke and burning smell filled my kitchen. On inspection there was nothing on the heating element that could explain. You get what you pay for. Show details
Awful – Quite possibly the worst rice cooker ever. Does not cook rice properly. It spits boiling water out of the top and bubbles so much it overflows. Would not recommend. Don't waste your money. Show details
It exploded !!! – Very dangerous product. Less than 12 months old. Cooking rice as normal and it exploded!!! Show details
Very useful and I live it – I bought it from BigW when it was on special. I use it daily for cooking rice and occasionally to warm my food simultaneously. It is good for the value of money and has been using for almost 1 year.
Great Rice Cooker – I have read the reviews and after using mine I must of got the best one it never spits out water and I’ve never had crusty rice stick to the bottom and I used this dozens of times! Perfect rice every time! Purchased mine Nov 2020 and use it at least twice a week if not more!! Very happy with this product. Show details
Cooks well, but has design faults – We cook brown rice a few times a week for our dogs. It cooks the rice well, I often taste it. The lid is either a bad fit though, or perhaps not heavy enough. I've found that it spatters water all over the bench. My workaround for this has been to stretch cling wrap over the cooking bowl, and then place the lid on. Pierce holes through the cling wrap. Not the best cooker I've had, but certainly not the worst either. Show details
False economy buying this cheap rice cooker – PROS - Cooks rice to some degree - Cheap - Enough volume to cook a large quantity of rice - Cooks white rice quite fast - The sturdy glass lid is the best-made part of this cooker CONS - Creates a dry crust of rice on the bottom and lower edges unless you put so much water in that the result is soggy - The Teflon coating started peeling off… Read more
within months... into the rice - Occasionally spits water up through the steam hole creating a mess - Rice very hard to cook properly. Either a bit too dry or too wet - Very slow to cook brown rice. Can take 3-4 regular cooks
OVERALL I would not buy again. Spend a bit more and get something that does its job better and is longer-lasting.
Cheap, and messy – Put 2 cups of rice in, with recommended water - when boiling the cooker spat water up to 50cm’s all over bench through hole in lid, Rice juice boiled all down the sides. Very, very messy unfortunately. The rice was fine to eat, a little gluggier than my last rice cooker. So I’m off to buy a different brand. Show details
Functional – This model comes with two functions, one is the steamer which is great for steaming vegetables, eggs and fish. The second function is the rice cooker which is pretty basic and it only takes twenty minutes to cook rice. In order to prevent the water from bubbling out the steamer needs to be placed on top and to use the precise amount of water. The steamer will prevent the water from bubbling out and rice will be cooked to perfection. Show details
Cheap but bad – Bought at big w and returned twice. Water seems to bubble out and make the area wet. Worse when it slips in to the space between the pot and the cooker the whole thing spoils. Good thing is it comes with 2 year warranty you can try it out. Not worth the hassle though. Show details
Not so good rice cooker – I bought it in February. I used it only several times during these months. There are some bad issues with this rice cooker. The rice always sticks to the bottom of the rice bowl, making it hard to clean. What's worse, the lid cannot keep water from bubbling up from rice bowl, and water always splatters out and wets the area around the cooker. However, it is still suitable for steaming meals and stewing soup. Show details
