Crap Chinese product – 1st one didn't even work took it back and gave a new one another try given the cost. worked for about a month and now doesn't even get above 100 degrees... ya get what ya pay for but seriously don't waste ya money Show details

Didn’t even work once – Bought from BigW on the 4th of December. Followed all the cleaning instructions and then filled up with oil. It never worked. The orange light would only turn on when the temperature knob was on the lowest setting. The green light never turned on. The oil never heated at all. This item it complete trash. Retailers who sell it should be ashamed. Show details

More Asian Crap – Bought one online from Bigw & it dropped dead after only 9 days use. Replaced it by buying another from Bigw on Ebay & it was dead on arrival. If you like throwing good money away on Chinese made crap this is your best choice! Show details

Not great – Would not connect to base unit correctly so therefore did not heat oil. You definitely get what you pay for. Would not recommend this fryer. Hopefully Contempo will look into this. Show details

LOVE IT – I have owned this for at least 5 Years. One knob broke off, the writing all wore off, but it is absolutely fantastic. Reaches an excellent heat quickly, always works and results in a fabulous end product. it gets used about once a week, sometimes more. like any cheap electrical items from Kmart, there probably are a few lemons out there, so If you get a lemon simply take it back for a replacement. Show details

Pleasing and economical – I bought this recently at Big W for what I thought was good value at A$35. It takes about three litres of canola (or other suitable) oil to fill between the recommended minimum and maximum levels. Fish seems to take a bit longer to cook, so that was lesson number one.

Apparently one can use the oil up to 10 times. So far so good.

We put newspaper on the kitchen bench but so far it has not splattered.

The wire basket is especially good.
