Coolaroo Umbrellas Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy Coolaroo market umbrella goes up but gradually unwinds. There appears to be nothing in it's design to hold it in place when fully open. Is this a design fault? I have to use a piece of wire tied onto the winder if I want to use it - not a good look - and it's less than 12 months old.
Absolute garbage of a product, started falling apart the day it was put up, Do not purchase
Can you buy replacement canopy for wall mounted umbrella?
How can I purchase new rope for my coolaroo umbrella. It is 12 years old and rope finally broke to open/close
Are their instructions on how to replace the cord on a Coolaro Cantlever windup umbrella?
Hello. Did u find these instructions?
My umbrella used to stay open but now will not lock open - keeps folding back to closed position. It is still relatively new and used seldom. Any ideas?
My umbrella is not locking when opened - just folds back. It was doing it before but stopped recently
I had the exact same problem. I took it back to Bunnings and they replaced it.
I'm having this problem now but I'm loathe to take on a replacement after paying so much for a clearly inferior product. Thanks for your response, I have a pathway now.
The grip inside the handle doesn't function
Is there anywhere where I can have a replacement canopy made and fitted to an existing frame similar to the one pictured at the top of this advert. Perhaps there are ready made canopies available off the shelf.
Can you purchase a replacement cloth as mine has torn in the wind
Not sure. I think you may be able to replace the whole canopy. Check with the shop you bought it from or contact Coolaroo directly.
Coolaroo Brighton umbrella can anybody tell me if there any good please before I open the box
The umbrella itself is a good quality, but I wouldn't recommend the dark coloured fabric unless you store it in the shade and rarely use it. My dark grey umbrella cover faded within a few weeks to a pinky beige colour and the store wouldn't let me return it. If I ever buy another umbrella I'll get a white one. Luckily I kept the cover on all the time except when in use. The zip on the cover broke within a few years and the pole ripped a hole in the cover so I bought a generic cover in a dark grey polyester which hasn't faded yet in 6 mths. The first base I bought leaked water, so I returned it and swapped it for another which has been fine for about 4 yrs. Hope that helps your decision.
No recommendation from me.
Our Coolaroo Cantilever Banksia (3.5m) canopy has now deteriorated. Are there replacement options? I messaged Coolaroo 2 weeks ago but hear crickets chirping... Thanks!
I have just purchased a Coolaroo Eucalypt umbrella plus Coolaroo water fill base. Does the item lock into place when up or rotate in any wind. Im surprised that there seems to be no locking, not happy if we cant use in our normal QLD weather.
If I understand your problem correctly yes it does lock into place. If there are wheels on the base it will rotate with the wind anyway. I did discover though that any wind above a breeze almost makes the umbrella useless as it blows around badly. Best to have the thing downwind. We have already bent a strut from this problem. Not good for such an expensive item.
This umbrella is not Made for high winds, I agree the umbrella is not good in any wind and does Want to tip forward, I use bungee leads and anchor it to the fence and ballestrade, this holds it in place and allows it to be up in winds of around 39km/hr, the cord has just snapped after two years use, now I will have to dismantle it and run a new cord, but overall not a great item, not overly safe, you have to put into place your own safety methods, good luck
Has anyone had any issues with the 3.5 Coolaroo Melaleuca Umbrella as I am thinking of purchasing one?
cheers Ros
No not the umbrella itself but the cover has deteriorated through sun damage prior to 12 months. Not a big issue as we won't leave the umbrella and cover out like we did before.
ok thanks. cheers Ros
reconsider
