Another review and with mileage it got much worse – It is my another review and with mileage it got much worse. I damaged the first at 1000 km than when had to purchase a replacement I have done some odd 55.000 kms and with 25% of tread left they had no grip in wet and limited grip on dry. While driving on a straight tarmac road a front right tire exploded with no reason at 110 kph. A day before I… Read more

decided to replace all 4 of them for security reason. They are well advertised and suitable to do many kms but definitely there are better tires out there.

CS4 Coopers - Brilliant – My 1999 GT Forester had Yokahama tyres on - disappointing. I put on a set of CS4's and got 93 000km out of them. Replaced them with more CS$'s. So far have put 97 000km on this set and look like another 10 000km in them. Next set will be CS4's again. Expensive - yes. Value for money - most definitely. My 80 series Landcruiser got 115 000km out of a set of ST Coopers. Yes they got replaced with Coopers to.

Go the distance ... not even a hint of a "close call" – Bought 4 CS4's for our 2009 X Trail diesel in 2010, paying $1120 fitted at Longreach, outback QLD. Original Dunlops had lasted just 34000KM. No real change in performance, but one certainly felt more confidence with that nice, deep grip. The Coopers lasted for 93114KM until we replaced those with our second set of CS4's for $1088 fitted at Tyre… Read more ·  1

Plus Toowoomba in July 2013. These have now done 37000KM with no appreciable signs of wear.

So far we have had just one puncture in the Coopers, in over 130000KM - a nail, which had by sheer bad luck entered right in one of the grooves between the lugs. No tyre could have prevented that one.

We drive probably 20% dirt, 50% crappy bitumen, 30% good bitumen.

These tyres do what they say they will, and in our application, lasted well beyond the "guaranteed" mileage. In all of our driving on them the car has always responded to driver input, with never a moment where we felt that we were losing control ... so in that respect we really can only give them a perfect score!

Our new Jeep's original Michelins have just about worn out after just 27000KM ... so it will be Coopers for it too in the not-too-distant - but I don't think the CS series comes in that size. I don't know quite how Coopers are able to pull off what they do with their tyres ... but the formula seems to work!

Cooper CS4 – So far the Cooper CS4 exceded stated Km value of 70K (km), as it stands now the traveled KM is 78K(km) and still 4/5K(km)left to run. The tyres in my opinion value for money if looked after. The tyre pressure is set at 44psi front and 42psi rear. The drive is very comfy, mix of driving 60/40 city/country. The next set will be CS% as the CS$ are superseeded.  Show reply

Happy with my purchase – I recently researched a large number tyres to fit my wife's Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 Activ which required 225/55 R18 to replace the original Bridgestone tyres that came with the vehicle. After reading many many reviews, in the end, I decided to give the Cooper CS4 tyres a try. We purchased the tyres and I have to say the grip on normal roads is… Read more

fantastic. The tyres also look good, but do provide a much firmer ride than the original tyres fitted. My biggest concern was road noise and I have to say the only time I notice a little road noise is at high speeds. Speeds below 100 km/h are great, but above that there is slight hum on the road from these tyres. Nothing major, but I notice it. Overall, I am happy with these tyres, which we purchased for $1200 for a set of 4 and I hope they last the 70,000 km that is suggested.

Update: 27/1/15

My wife and I are still very happy with the Cooper CS4 tyres. There is still a reasonable amount of tread on the tyres, but I doubt they will last longer than ~55,000km. The tyres have always been driven on regular roads and recently I had the tyres rotated due to the front wheels wearing considerably faster than the rear. Over all though, comfort, grip and road noise are all good and I would still recommend them, just be cautious of manufacturers claims. I definitely, will consider these tyres again when we need to replace, but will be reading the fine print when it comes to longevity next time.

Update: 5/2/16

I have to say the Cooper CS4 tyres we purchased are holding up better than I expected. Sadly, as our Outlander spends 99.9% of its time in front wheel drive the front tyres wear so much quicker, so rotation has been essential. In saying this, I suspect we will hopefully get another 2 years use out of all 4 tyres. Each tyre still has ample tread on it and their side walls are still in excellent condition. There is no doubt in my mind, now, that we would have considered these tyres again, but it looks like they have been discontinued and replaced by Cooper CS5 tyres. Ah well looks like I will be researching tyres again in a few years!!

Update: 25/01/2017

The Cooper CS4 tyres continue to perform well. There is still ample tread on the tyres, despite the car being in front wheel drive most of the time. If Cooper makes a tyre that fits our Outlander's rims in the future, I will definitely consider buying them. Grip and Look Slight hum at high speeds

Very Happy – I had a full set of the CS4's fitted to my Xtrail T30 a couple of years ago and have traveled about 30,000 kms so far they are showing only slight wear. I can see that I will easily get 80,000 kms out of these tyres. Very happy with both dry and wet grip and the quite running. Most of my driving is on sealed roads and a few unsealed roads. … Read more

However, I would not recommend these tyres if you intend to drive on very rough tracks as I can see the tread edges wear quickly.

These tyres are over rated – I got only 44,000 Km's out of my tyres are far cry from a claimed 80,000. My Kluger only drives in the roads of inner Sydney going through lots of round a bouts, back streets and lots of start stop driving. I think if you drive a lot on freeways you might get to 80,000. After 4 years of use the compound of the tyres went hard and got dangerous in the wet, which forced me to replace the tyres. Don't believe the hype!!!

ix35 replaced OEM Khumos with CS$ and much happier – I have an ix35 Highlander which came with Khumo's 225/55R18. This is a difficult size to get so there isn't much choice. The CS4s do come in this size and while they may cost a little more, they run much better than the Kumos ever did. Corner seems better too and the side wall graphics are pretty cool. Made in the USA so no question marks… Read more ·  4

over quality. I have had a few tyre dealers recommend running them at 40 psi for an SUV like the ix35 and even at this pressure they absorb more road impacts than the Khumos. Cooper have a lot of experience in 4WD tyres so I suspect they wouldn't be too bad on basic off road conditions. I would definitely recommend these as an advance over the OEM tyres on a Hyundai ix35. Quality, good absorbtion of impact, deep tread, made in USA.

WOULD BUY AGAIN – I have had CS4's on my Subaru Forester(2005)for three years and so far they have done 70,000ks - will probably get another 10,000ks out of them. They are quiet, hang on in the wet and handle the dirt well. Will buy again if Cooper can keep the price reasonable! Good mileage, good in all conditions. Can get a little bit noisy towards the end of their life. Despite the fall in the US dollar, Cooper refuses to adjust price!

Excellent – I have noticed that they are a very popular tyres around town. So far we have done just over 55,000kms on them and I think we could get another 20,000kms more on the remaining tread. I'm very happy with these tyres and would buy them again when time comes. Now, I'm a great beleiver in regularly rotating the tyres and wheel allignment. Update on my… Read more ·  4

previous report.

They are still very good tyres and grip very good on the wet roads. About a year back the car kept pulling to the left and after a few wheel allignment the dealer resolved the problem by switch the tyres from side to the other side, it is called Radial Allignment. It worked.

OK – Will not buy again too expensive and only got 46,000Kms out of the guaranteed 80,000Km. Guarantee is pro-rata cost less on new set, so locked into Coopers once you buy first set. Did not like wet road handling. Reasonable handling on dry sealed roads. Handling on gravel and/or wet roads. Gravel frequently jammed in tread. Had 2 punctures in short lifetime.

Top marks so far – After all my research into tyres for my Mitsubishi Outlander 225/55/18 I was down to Toyo versado cuv and the Coopers. This is an odd size and so limited variety and high cost was a factor. I knew this was going to be the case when I bought the car 4 years ago. I was never satisfied with the Bridgestones 684 which comes standard. Just got the… Read more

Coopers as there wasnt very many reviews on the toyos and very happy with the handling, the smoothness and quietness (big factor) and how super deep the tread were on the tyres. Will keep up with the rotations etc but was not interested in the Cooper 80000km warranty because I'm pretty sure they will last at least 5 years and by then I think the rubber will have aged anyway. Sam at Camberwell tyrepower Melbourne gave me the best deal out of all my enquries and because they are new they're willing to discount more. This is the second time I have bought from them although I have to travel in.

Thanks to everyone who reviewed these tyres b4 me. So far so good and will update for the benefit of others. Very quiet and deep tread. Handling and braking good. Still not tried wet braking but others seem to say it's good.

Good Tyre – I had them fitted to my Subaru 07 Outback and found them to be a great tyre. They made the car feel alot more solid on the road and the bumps where absorbed alot better. They where good on a dirt road and work well in the wet. I would buy them again. Lasted well

OK... For a Renault RX4 Scenic – Just replaced the original Michellin tyres... that lasted 77,000 KM for Cooper CS4.... Wah.. what a difference... excellent infact. Highly recommended as a replacement tyre for this type of vehicle !! Cost effective, look good on !!

Excellent – Will use Cooper again. Have done every thing that Cooper said they would. Only thing is check your tyre pressure after having them fitted as the tyre dealer I used put in 40psi and the car was rough riding and was slippery in the wet. Rang Cooper to complain and found the really helpful. Suggested that I check the pressure and run what is on the… Read more

tyre placard. The rav was great after that. Have them on a rav 4. So far 60000km and still have tread left. Good in the wet once you run toyota recommended pressure. Tyre shop put 40psi in them.
