Tyres up to the task – Best all round ture I have used in a very long time. We have just completed a 5 month trip across Australia and along the southern coast line taking us to some remote locations. Not once were we let down by these tyres and a big bonus is we didn't have to replace or repair any damage unlike on some other brands we have used. We covered various… Read more
road surfaces from sand and gravel to black top with some wet weather to boot. These tyres handled all conditions extremely well. Our set up is a 79 series cruiser towing a 3.5 tonne fully off road caravan, not one for the cheap and nasty tyres as they would not have been able to match the performance of the BRIDGESTONE, we entrusted our life's with the BRIDGESTONE tyres.
So far so good – Had a set put on last week from my local Bridgestone dealer. Replaced the set of HT Dueler 684 tyres, as 3 were not in the best state from nails and cuts. These new tyres are ever so slightly louder than the HT tyres. The same low music volume heading to the dealer to remove the HT, and driving home at 100K/h, did not have to increase volume of… Read more
music to enjoy. I just wanted to get that out there for those interested in the noise level. You won't notice in a Z71 at least anyway.
I like the option to have the white sidewall writing, looks quite nice on my ute.
The day after having them installed, it the heavens opened up so I was up to giving the grip a test. Of course I was doing it safely, and driving to conditions. I would give the throttle a good blip coming out of a round about to see if the tail would squirm, to which I can say it did NOT. I tried again coming off a motorway to a negative camber 50km/h corner swinging 180 degrees to travel in the opposite direction. Again, holding the car in the corner at 50km/h and then blipping the throttle would not get the rear to dance. So, in my eyes, these grip well on the bitumen in wet in my town. I feel safe to let my wife or kids drive on these tyres.
I haven't commented about durability as I have only had them on for 200km. I'm sure they will perform well over the coming kilometers, being of Light Truck construction. I also expect them to get harder over time, so perhaps the comfort will fade, but its hard to tell with tyres at 40psi anyway :)
Over the Christmas holidays, we took the tyres (and ute) on a camping trip and clocked up about 1000km. The camp trailer felt good behind the ute, and after camp setup we took off for some four wheeling in the sand. As expected, we sunk to the rims with the highway pressures still in the tyres, so after a quick deflation to 25psi and a reverse back, the uphill sand track was conquered with ease and put a huge childlike grin on my face. There is nothing more satisfying than not having to dig yourself out of a bog!
** Got a bonus Weber BBQ sent to my home as a promo for buying 4 new tyres, so that was a nice early XMAS present. Cheers Bridgstone!

Incredibly trustworthy, robust, and durable tyre – The Bridgestone Dueler AT 697 is now what I would consider my number one All terrain tyre. The reasons are as follows. The Dueller AT has been my travelling companion for many years on many varying 4x4 vehicles. I have found that the wear life of the tyre is approximately 50 to 60 thousand kilometres if driven without abuse and rotated as… Read more
scheduled. The tyre performs very well in wet conditions and provides premium traction on hard surfaces as well as loose surfaces whilst having very good on road manners. With this being said appropriate tyre pressures must be adhered to when the road deteriorates beyond the capacity of two wheel drive. These tyres are in my opinion one of the top most affordable all terrain tyres that money could buy in Australia. Yes other all terrain tyres look the part but I consider safety and reliability above all other matters when I am on the tarmac or somewhere off the beaten track. I just wish that they had the following tyre size, 275/70/r17 for modern utes and SUV, purpose built for off roading.
Now 2 years on from my previous review – Well it's now 2 years on from my last review, the tyres are fitted to a Mitsubishi Delica L400 4x4, in the last 2 years they have traveled 45,000kms, there is still well over half the tread left, (My previous set was changed at 80,000kms, Our vehicle is mainly used on camping trips on and off road all over NZ. I have recently had a puncture in one… Read more
but plugged that up with a tyre repair kit and it has been fine since then. I find the Desert Dueler ATs to have a very wide tread compared to other makes (I run 30 x 9.5 x 15s on mags) they run great in all conditions that I encounter, personally I can't think of any reason that I would want to change to another brand, and the cost is better than most others.
LT construction Bargain price, Puncture free, use them & abuse them – LT construction. Fitted to a Hilux Driven mainly on unsealed roads through out Central & Western Australia, had a buy 3 get 1 free deal, bought 6 with a company discount worked out $200 a tyre. Got around 40,000 kms out of the rears. Never rotated, run at lower pressures on rough roads, tyres close to fully loaded, always abused. Never had a… Read more
puncture. Lower Road noise then some other all terrains. Some decent war wounds but LT hold up. I think LT construction is what makes it shine. Owe me nothing fingers crossed another sale comes up.

Great tyres – Currently have Bridgestone Dueler 225/55R18 98V on my 2021 Forester. Was informed at my last service (62000km) that I needed new tyres. They’ve been great in all weather situations so will be purchasing again Show details
This product from Bridgestone are fantastic for on road and off road – Once you have used Bridgestone styes you'll notice the difference and the long last tread that out Proform other brands. If your the type of person who wants to leave the road for an adventure these tyres will suit your daily driving and your weekends. Show details
Excellent all round performance – Fitted Light truck version to a new Prado GLX in 2021, 55,000km later still got 10-15,000km left on them, brilliant in the wet, & gravel roads, only downside is noise. They howl when over 50% worn, small price to pay though for drama-free driving. Also fitted these to a 2019 HiLux SR5 from new, got 82,000km out of first set, prior to that a 200… Read more
series. Best all round tyre for Australian conditions, pity they don't make the size for my 300 series!

Dueller A/T - Death Wobble/Shuddering – **This is only MY experience with these tyres and is not intended to deter people from buying them. Nor is it intended to diminish the Bridgestone brand or quality** I have a 2020 Toyota Prado and the original Dunlop AT20's were down to about 4mm tread, so I decided on a set of Bridgestone Duellers (697's). I've had issues ever since they were… Read more
fitted, with a steering wheel shudder above 90kmh and a kind of low frequency, pulsing warbling sound. I've had them balanced 4 times, they all zero out, but still the shudder remains. Had the car serviced at Toyota and told them about the shudder. They checked everything, steering rack, ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, tail shafts, suspension etc. No issues found. Swapped the wheels over with a work mate who also has a Prado, guess what? No steering wobble at all, but his car (with my wheels/tyres) had the shakes at 90-100kmh. He also said he though the whole car was vibrating/bouncing. Something amiss with the 697's and they are quite noisy on the highway. *Did NOT experience any issues in wet conditions or off-road. My only issue is the death wobble @ speed. Ended up putting a set of new Grandtrek AT20's on the car, smooth as silk. No shudder, no vibration, nothing. Would never waste $1,400 on Bridgestones again.
Great tyre...but not for the $$$ – Obtained these tyres in near new (95%) cond., 265/60R18 size, for a lifted 2013 Dmax. Impressive road handling & decent wear; secure grip (much better dry than wet, especially as they wore) & minimal sidewall flex. A little slippery off-road...but it is a road-AT not a mudder or true A/T, so for a vehicle driven 98% on bitumen/gravel/dirt I… Read more
appreciated the lesser noise & better road manners in that respect.
Fairly quiet on road but got noisier the more they wore...
Tough. Never a puncture nor cut in 70,000km & I gave them hell on many a beach/island track.
Would I buy a set brand new? No, probably not. Good tyre but too expensive by far & performed quite poorly in the wet below 40% tread depth. I think there are better value tyres out there.
Tyres for those that demand nothing – Have had a couple of cars with these tyres and would have to regard them as very ordinary. These tyres were popular sold with new vehicles simply for long life. They look alright, and are a brand name as good points. However bad points, are most numerous. The tyres, are road bias with tread pattern, so not good at all in mud or gravel roads,… Read more
little to no shoulders and pattern that holds mud and not flick it out. Infact rubber is a hard compound for long life so gravel roads break off lots of rubber chunks from tyres. Worst part is that in the last third of the life of the tyre becomes dry and hard and absent of grip. As I found out with no traction sliding into the back of an Amorok with all 4 tyres sliding with no grip, mean while the Amorok pulled up perfectly and my ute was written off. Absence or lack a silica. There are much better tyres out there for similar money, like Falken AT3W, Yokohama, and BF Goodrich. Now you say you were warned.

I found Bridgestone to be the best value tyre. Like many Japanese companies it is very well made and at a fraction of the price of US or European brands. Very happy with my tyres from them.
The bridge stone tyres we were advised to have for our purpose, and caravan , are excellent. The right advice , and the fitting by Ash were very professional, Thanks Mobile tyre shop Show details
Stay away from it if you can – These were OEM tyres that came with the car back in 2022. Average at best. Wear rate is bad. Rotated at 12k and I got fed up so I changed it at 17k. Very noisy on highway. Wet traction isn’t that great either. I noticed the performance is heavily deteriorated when worn under 3mm. I don’t understand how these are sold as ultra high performance tyres with expensive price tag. Not worth the money. Show details
Solid Tyre – Just purchased second set. Put on rav4 AWD. Stable and Quiet on the road for an all terrain Tyre however noise increases with age. Beware poor wet weather grip. Like these tyres as the edges don't seem to scuff out from turning easily unlike previous Tyres. Got average Tyre wear of 50k. 2 Tyres replaced early due to cracking in the side walls 4 years old. Apparently should not leave them in the sun to long. Show details
Don’t waste your money – These have to be worst purchased tyres I ever made, no traction at all in the wet, especially on my Hilux, car in acceleration slips all over the road, even with 70% tread life left, ended changing to FALKEN wildpeak At3 & 100% better traction in the wet Show details
Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 – Priced in the premium range in the offroad tyre market, a good allround onroad / offroad tyre performs well in the dry both on and off road but lacks grip in the wet on the bitumen. Expect to get good mileage out of this tyre which has an L/T rating with a heavy duty casing. Road noise is minimal and handling is slightly better with the stiffer L/T side walls. Tread is self cleaning in heavy mud/clay conditions. Show details
Rubbish. Puncture after puncture – Fitted to Ford Ranger and sitting here with 6,817.3km on the odometer and I’ve had 3 punctures through the side wall each time. But wait, todays was a piece of soft, hollow turnip stem that crumbled in my fingers. The two prior to that were small sticks laying on the ground. If your on a farm like me or intend to go off the bitumen avoid these tyres. Way too soft to be considered All-terrain. Show details
Disappointing in the wet – Were on my second hand Navara when I bought it, they are 5 years old but still have 6mm of tread on them. Fairly good in the dry, but my Cooper Rugged Trek's are better on wet sealed roads. If I replace these I'll be buying Continentals for sure. Show details
Very Happy with these tyres – 2019 Subaru Forrester Premium fitted with Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport 225/55 18 tyres as original equipment. 2 replaced at 45,000k. remaining 2 original now have done 61,000 and are almost down to treadler bar. 85% sealed road, 15% gravel road driving and weekly off road farm paddock crossings. Excellent fuel efficiency. One puncture only when a… Read more
stick staked a sidewall on gravel track. Wet weather Braking, long wear life, quiet running and Fuel efficiency are my considerations so now mulling over replacement cost considered steep for an excellent performer against a 3 or $400 saving going for a "good" performer.

I've made it because of you – I visit my sister across the country, we're both of an age. These tires have taken me safely there and back even side of fifteen years.
Unacceptable Wear Rate – These 215/60R17 tyres are fitted to my 2017 Toyota C-HR Koba AWD. The car originally came with 50 profile tyres on 18 inch rims, which are useless on the poor roads where I live in northern NSW, but the dealer agreed to swap the wheels with a lower spec model so I could have the 60 profile tyres (which is still too low for Australian country… Read more
roads). The tyres barely lasted 30,000 km; in the meantime I had bought another set of wheels with the same tyres from somebody who had replaced them with 18-inch wheels as soon as he bought the car. Again, they have lasted barely 30,000 km and have had multiple punctures, with one of the tyres actually splitting in the middle a couple of days ago. I drive 6 km of gravel each way whenever I use the car, which should not be enough to cause accelerated wear. The tyres stick to the bitumen very well and handle like the car is on rails, but the wear rate is unacceptable. The groove on the outer edges of each tyre are not as deep as the rest of the grooves and wear extremely quickly, even though I am running them at 38 psi rather than the manufacturer recommended 33 psi to try to reduce wear on the outside of the tyres. I also rotate them every 5000 km due to being AWD. I am replacing them with a set BFG Trail/Terrain T/A, as the wear rate of these Bridgestones is ridiculous.
Wet weather performance not up to it – Purchased for ASX to handle mix of bitumen and dirt roads in FNQ. Happy enough with tyres all round until relocated car to Cairns. Small trips only until that point with no challenging roads. Handled PDR fine and all other driving through previous 2 years without any complaints worth noting. Once in Cairns it became obvious this tyre is not up to… Read more
it. Kuranda and Gillies range are fine in the dry but a death trap on these tyres if you push anything close to posted advisory signs in wet weather. Roundabouts through North Cairns and Northern beaches at 30kph is where the understeer starts and just gets worse if you follow the 40 kph speed limits. Pressures are fine and wear is tracking well. ASX needs to be in 4WD for any movement from a standing start as front wheels just spin with traction control working overtime to bring under control. This is easily avoided by me with my 35 + years of driving experience but hard to accept this level of risk for my children with less than 1. Tyres have a long way to go before I would deem them used but under the circumstances these are being changed out this week with less than 20k on them. Can't put my trust in the 697's.
Just pricing the same tyres again – Out Subaru Outback 3.6 has just had its 4th birthday and we're still on the first set of tyres. (To my shame) I've never had them rotated, I check the air when they look a bit down or before doing a big trip, have never had a wheel alignment and at 51,000 kms they'll be good for another 4,000kms. They grip on all surfaces, have never given a… Read more
minutes worry and have never been punctured. Our touring has included a fair bit of dirt/gravel driving (to places like Arkaroola from Yunta and back to Wilpena Pound). A quiet ride (an Outback trait anyway) and reliable, why would I change?
Had these on my hilux since 2004...just bought a new set – These are reliable tires....I have never had a flat in 19 years and had these on my hilux from new...done a moderate amount of off roading..sidewalls are reslilient Show details
This is a great tyre – This is great tyres I purchased It does the job when 4 wheel driving get through all difficult track One thing is awesome since I change the tyre from dynapro to dueler AT 697 I go through round about is not skidded anymore. Great for road tyre too Show details
Very Good – Just changed tyres after 90000km. Can't fault the the Bridgestone LT265/65 17 on my Triton. Fairly quiet for an A/T tyre. Great wear and dry traction on and off road. Got a little slippery in the wet at the end of their life. Best tyre I have had. Show details
Poor wear for what I would call an All Rounder tyre – The Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport 225/60R17 99V came as standard on my 2021 Subaru Forester. When new I classed them as adequate: quite grippy at the recommended 32 PSI tyre pressure but not enough grip at 35 PSI. Our bumpy and wavy country roads need a higher tyre pressure, hence 35 PSI. I would not class these as a high grip/high wear tyre. I was… Read more
expecting a reasonable tyre life. After 25,000 km I felt they were losing their grip. Without saying this to the Subaru Service department, they advised me the the tyres will need replacing soon. On my last Forester I replaced two sets of Michelins at 40,000 km and these were replaced early than required as I like a safe tyre for wet roads.
