Expensive Servicing Cost – Competent mower, but prone to a couple of nuisance problems. Steering can become jammed with sticks occasionally. Cowling over the spindles chokes with leaves, is difficult to clean. Front tyres have come off rims twice during tight turns. Need extra pressure. Main gripe is servicing cost. 150 hour dealer scheduled service cost $470 in… Read more
January 2024. Cub Cadet Australia won't comment whether this was fair. I use it weekly for about 2 hours, ie 100 hrs pa. Two dealer services pa is very expensive. Much more than my 4x4 truck.
Pro,s and cons – Used one today for the first time. I've had several zero turn mowers, both domestic and commercial. Pro,s Cuts really well Comfortable seat plenty of power Cons No power steering. Really heavy compared to conventional lever zero turn Reverse cutting button is a pain Deck heavy to lift with the pedal Steering wheel adjustment keeps moving Show details
Awesome machine – I have a pro z 154s and it is unbelievable the way it cuts handles and the comfort is awesome I use it daily for work can’t speak highly enough of it Show details
Beat purchase I've made – Love this thing. It's perfect for my sloping block which has a lot of trees. It handles really well on slopes, it's fast, powerful and easy to drive. Best of all, you can hold a beverage while driving Show details
Amazing on steep ground – V impressive in my steep sloping block climbs and cuts like a mountain goat Have had Toro’s and john deeres but this is by far the best mower I’ve had The Kawasaki engine so far is performing well Show details
BEAST of a mower! – Bought my ZT with only 45 hours on it. What a machine! I do around 7 acres with it and it just eats it up. The finished cut looks impeccable. Mine has the Kohler engine and I'm wrapped with it. If you can get hold of one of these beasts, don't hesitate. Highly recommend. Show details
Luv it ! – Picked my mower up on the 12th of March and luv it. I use to sweat pushing my old mower doing just 200sqm back yard, now I live on an acre (4000sqm) and it makes mowing a pleasure and no more sweating lol. But doing the edges is another story :-) Due to all the rain we've had in the Sydney region, I couldn't mow my lawns for several weeks. … Read more · 1
Then the rain stopped and after about 72 hours I jumped on for my first ride. It cut through the grass like there was no tomorrow. My only disappointment is I believe the rear tyres are not suitable for nice smooth lawn. The rear tyre face is curved (exaggeration) like a motorbike tyre and should be flat, subsequently even though it hadn't rained for over 3 days I have left huge tyre tracks in my lawn and not is looks like crap. Not sure what to do.
Other than that, I luv the mower and got around 2.5 x mows out of the fuel tank so very happy with that. Mowing isn't a chore any more, but an enjoyment. Ask me again after 12 months and see if I still think the same lol
New mower for us – I am mostly very happy with the new Rzt S 46. The motor is powerful and has lots of grunt as It munches through the long grass. I am not very happy with the cut on the shorter grass as it seems to cut a bit low on one side. Its also has a noisy chassis compared to our old cox mower. Show details
Very capable mower – Purchased to replace my ageing Greenfield 32. I live on a steep property with roughly 15 acres of paddocks that need mowing (until the trees I've planted take over...) and the Greenfield was a bit hairy on some of the slopes, while the tractor and slasher was even more sphincter-puckering! Really impressed with the Cub's ability on steep slopes,… Read more
both with the power and the the stability. It ploughs through blady grass that's half a metre tall in places, with no perceptible drop in revs - fantastic. I'm also a fan of the way it stops once the foot is off the throttle, the Greenfield would run away with you if you weren't constantly feathering the peddle between forward and reverse or standing hard on the brake.
My only criticism so far is that the seat appears to be made for Seppo-sized backsides, it's way to wide and flat, resulting in a lot of sliding around. I'm not exactly small at 186cm and nearly 100kg, so god knows how large you have to be for the seat to work properly!
Brilliant mower – This is my forth ride on mower over forty years of mowing a sloping five acre block. I have steep sections to negotiate and lots of fruit trees to mow around plus some narrow tracks. I also worked for a lawn mowing contractor for a few years using a Cox and Husqvarna. I was a greenkeeper for ten years too so know a thing or two about operating… Read more
mowers.
This mower is by far the best I've ever used. It's amazing on the steep sections like a 4wd and the zero turn is a winner for tricky bits around trees and shrubs. I'm not much of a fan of lap bar steering so the steering wheel is something I like a lot and is as light and easy to operate as it gets. It's super powerful and cuts long thick grass without any problems and leaves a magic finish like a golf fairway. The Kawasaki motor is the one to get. Purrs along all day and is pretty quiet albeit a bit thirsty. Not really a problem though because the Kohler is too and you'll always have to invest a bit in fuel for a mower as powerful as this.
If you're thinking about buying one of these don't waste too much time thinking about it. I wish I got mine a few years ago when I first saw them at Johns Bikes and Mowers in Ballina who I'd also recommend. I can't fault it even slightly. Just a brilliant machine to operate.
This is fast – Had a standard ride on before and with all the trees I have it use to rip up the lawn. now the lawn is coming back its worth the extra money . The Steele fab deck is the go as it takes the knocks and won't rust out as quick . Easy to use cause now my mother in law is doing the lawn . Has enough power to tow a large lawn aerator and spray tank .… Read more
As a mechanic I would highly recommend the kolher motor because of the superior air filter seal design over other motors I have experienced . I wish I bought a zero turn to start with .
Climbs Like a 4wd – Was going to buy a 4wd drive mower as I have a very steep block about one acre in size . This mower does it easy . It’s an awesome mower. Cuts anything easily and leaves a great finish. Show details
Great for hilly blocks – Very powerful and well built. Particularly good on very steep block. Steering wheel is great and doesn’t get bogged easily on steep, slippery block. Also seems quite easy to service. Show details

My partner loves this mower more than me! – LOVE LOVE LOVE our 2017 rzt s 46 inch fab deck! So much power, love the steering wheel, great handling, comfy ride, well priced replacement parts. cant wait to purchase a grass catcher asap. 2 happy customers :) if you live in the kyogle/ tweed area NSW I highly recommend going to kyogle Saw spot to purchase the Rzt s and any small farm machinery… Read more
you may need! These guys look after you and give the best after sales service in the business and no I didnt post this add to get paid ;)
Perfect – I have a very steep block. This machine Turns well and is very easy to ride. It’s probably the best ride on mower I’ve had. I highly recommend it. I’ve added a hitch and it will pull a decent load on a wagon uphill. The only fault I can find is the mulch cover is plastic and let’s som grass blow out the side. Very minor though. Show details
Best mower i have owned – Full revs when you engage blades if you engage blades at low throttle cutter belt will come off. I have had my cub cadet since April it is the best on slopes and around trees. The sales man from Nambour QLD bought the mower to my block and demonstrated its capability ,he did warn me not to engage blades at low revs as this would cause it to throw cutter belts off. Perfect large residential mower – Like many others I bought this mower to handle a steep block, which it does brilliantly - t effectively has 4 wheel steering. It’s a good mower in other respects too, being a little more heavily built than many others of this class. I particularly like the simplicity of its design- the dual steering mechanism is a simple mechanical (not… Read more
electrical) link and the 2 blade set up adds simplicity in belts and pulleys. Mine has 220+ hours on it with very little trouble.
Love of my life! – Finally a mower that handles slopes and it's a zero turn! Steering wheel makes it easy it control. Takes more fuel than my old ride ons because the engine has the power to climb hills effortlessly. Fantastic value for money. Cuts mowing time particularly where trees are involved. Allows for reverse mowing at a good speed. Show details
Happy as Larry – I have had this mower for 9 months. I have a hilly block so research pointed me in this direction. I had had 2 .tractor mowers previously. This thing really is terrific. Comfortable, stable, easy to master. We have about 1.5 acres to mow. I now do the lot in about 60% of time it used to take. The paddock looks a lot better too. Great value. Fabricated deck looks like it will last the distance. Show details
This model of product has a protential defect problem! – I bought a new product of this model few day ago and I was just use new product for 30mins only and somethings wrong, the belt is off. The expert ppl calls it belt off makes the blade not spinning anymore. The reason they said is: Because the grass is too high! unbelieveable this! I mean the grass of the section is only 0.2 to 0.3… Read more
meters(20 cm to 30 cm), and I was driving slow, if that's call "the grass is high", I will be speechless lol!
when I watched on youtube, the expert mowing grass over 1 meter high and no problem at all, but this model of product has trouble to 0.2 to 0.3 meters of grass, is it call defect product! At least it has a protential problem.
P.S.
THX U so much for purchsing and experience this! LOL!
When I told them I am unhappy about this product and want to refund,
The retail ppl said: it's your opration problem. I was wry smile, do they think I am opration an aircraft that hard lol.
Can I say, you are trying to avoid the duty and sell a defect product to customer!
Great for hills and obstacles – Have owned this mower for 4 months now. Great for mowing around trees as turns very easily. Minimal experience required due to steering wheel configuration on this zero turn as apposed to the lap bar. Feel safe going down hill, main reason for purchasing this style over the slightly cheaper lap bar style. the stearing wheel control of front wheels… Read more
means you have some control when going down hill vs. the shopping trolley wheels on a lap bar zero turn. Rated to 15 degree pitch but have taken it on 25 deg. When going up hill have discovered putting foot down on accelerator does not necessarily make it go faster but rather easing off allows the transmission to kick in. Inflated front tyres with tred are nice rather than the hard plastic type found on many zero turns in this price range. Seat position is adjustable making it comfortable for my 6 foot 4 frame.
Good value for features compared to price of other brands. Comes with engine timer (often extra) comes with mulching kit (often extra).
Only reason didn't receive 5 stars is that occasionally I have to make a second run over a patch because the blades didn't pick every thing up but this is usually because I was travelling over that patch a little faster than the rest.
