Keep looking. Way overpriced – I was given this unit as a birthday gift. Splatters all the time which is most annoying. 2 years on, it just stopped working! Too late for warranty claims now. I wouldn't recommend this item. For this price, I can get one with more functions than this. Lucky it was a gift. Stylish looking and comes with a steamer tray Splatters, cook much less than it claims (if you want to cook the rice perfectly), low durability, overpriced

Don't Buy – I've used this rice cooker a few times - it makes a lot of mess and rice does not cook through. Far inferior to the new rice cooker I've since purchased. Makes good porridge though. :-(. I'd strongly recommend against buying this product. Really embarrassing as it was a gift from my partner and I don't wantto hurt his feelings by chucking it out. Makes good porridge. Makes huge mess and doesn't cook rice well.

OK – I bought this to replace my old Japanese brand rice cooker, which had a lot of functions. This one is a simple rice cooker that has worked reliably for half a year now. It works well, just as it should. Rice cooks well (fluffy) and I haven't noticed splattering. The strange thing about it is that the steamer tray is always on the unit even when I… Read more

don't need it (and the top lid needs the steaming tray to fit properly). They should have designed the lid so that it sits nicely without the steamer tray...no idea what they were thinking when they designed it! But I have become accustomed to this design, and what I do is I just remove the lid and steamer tray after the rice is cooked (be careful as they get very hot), and I use the steamer tray to put the rice spatula inside. I wanted a rice cooker that doesn't break easily, and can be cleaned easily, so for that, I think I bought the right thing. If it breaks, I will update my review. Looks nice and is quite compact. All parts are dishwasher safe so it's good when you're busy. I think it had a 3 year warranty. The steamer is handy sometimes. The price! I paid $98 for it, and it's just a normal rice cooker with a single button. Also, the 7 cup model is quite small. I think it can only cook about 3 cups of rice (uncooked). 7 cups is referring to cooked rice. When you cook the maximum amount of rice, the rice expands and sticks all over the bottom of the steamer tray.

OK – I have used it twice and I am bitterly disappointed. I would return it to the shop if I could as in my opinion it is faulty. Not a cheap purchase either. It was purchased to replace our Midea rice cooker of 12 years which we made redundant only due to the fact of the teflon coating wearing off. The Midea had a clamp down lid and the starchy steam… Read more

juices ran into a removable compartment for easy cleaning and no mess. The glass lid and poor venting system on the Cuisinart is totally ineffectual at preventing spatter. In their own advertising they state the steam vent only "helps" to prevent spattering not stop it! I don't want any mess. So in my opinion it is just a badly designed product with a designer price tag. compact, retractable cord, perfect size for two people. Looks great. It spatters everywhere, and not just a little bit. Really really messy.
