Great product very happy – After doing home work I purchased this router, main reason nbn ready this router is in a room seperate from the house i set this router high enough to to over come a fridge and microwave these items can cause interference, I also purchase a dlink repeater model ac1750 reason this is in the main room of the house the reason the router has to pass… Read more
through a double brick wall then two single brick walls. The speed is super fast the repeater has three bars and speed test through ookla any time of the day and night runs of the dial I can honestly give this router and the repeater 10 out of 10
Price indicated good router, hmm no – Well it works alright, the minute to load QOS and Port Forward pages is a pain, i am on wired gigabit connection and have a beast PC. Using Win10 on M2.0 Ultra. The problem is i can't work out how to set up static IP's for the home PC's i am sick of changing the port forwarding every day as the local IP's change. I don't even think it can do… Read more
it????
Also multiplayer gaming online with the computers on this same network can't see each other, works on the $10 junk modem the ISP gave us.
Probably buy another router.
This has been a constant source of frustration. Avoid – Terrible. When the connection is stable (not often) then router struggles get through a couple of walls. It does the following well: - Random disconnections. - Random Slowdowns. - Randomly unable to connect to the internet. i.e. Nothing. It does nothing well. I always assumed it was my double brick house so I purchased an extender - this… Read more
improved the woeful signal strength but did nothing for the unreliability. Working from home for a month has driven me around the bend - finally bypassed the router and plugged computer directly into the NBN switch with a cable - no problem, working internet. Replaced the router it with its 5 year old predecessor - the most damning thing for the DIR-882 is that a 5 year old router (this too a D-Link - an old 2750B!)performs better, faster, has far superior signal strength and just works without drama. I'm doing what I should have done months ago - asking for a replacement or refund. If it proves to be faulty and not just a bad product line in general, I'll return and update, otherwise I suggest you avoid this.
A waste of money and time.
Small area coverage and random disconnections – I bought this after being informed it would be compatible with my NBN connection. It was but it couldn't cover a large home despite on the box advertising that it is ideal for larger properties. I bought a mesh Wifi to accompany it and that solved that dilemma however not long after I had issues with the modem/router disconnecting at randoms… Read more
times. I decided to do a firmware update with D-Link support on the phone and that did not resolve the issue. Realising the issues were too annoying for me to resolve, I decided to refund it the product (including the extender). I chose to stick with my Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 which turned out to be more than compatible. It was stable and providing great coverage even upstairs. I am getting top speeds upstairs in my bedrooms like as if I was standing in front of my modem/router. When I had the D-Link, it struggled to hold 3 bars. Now I have got solid 3 bars almost all the time.

Hardly needs resetting – I was a big fan of Netgear over the years, and 3 years ago I purchased a D7000 Modem/Router. I ended up having it replaced twice, before buying this DLink unit. Easy to setup, though the range is not quite as good as the D7000. The massive plus, is devices son't disappear off the network, thus requiring a reset. This unit has very little downtime,… Read more
and copes with 2 x Xboxes, Netflix, Amazon, Kayo etc. If you are looking for a good reliable unit, I highly recommend this unit. My only gripe is I have to put in a captcha everytime I access the Admin side.
