Previously happy with my purchase of caravan from Dario's until 6months later when I need some small job done and was told the bad news that the caravan which has a shower and toilet has had some extreme water damage in the past all down one side of… Read more

the van. A cost to me of around $10,000. certainly a case of buyer beware !!! A reputable company I feel would never sell a van in that condition or do a cover up job. Not Happy Jan To say the least.

Follow-up  · I visited Dario at St Mary's had a good chat to a fellow there (sorry can't remember his name) and told him of my problems we sorted a few things out and I came away feeling a lot better about my experienced. hasn't solved my problem completely but I am happy with the outcome and willing to move on. Thanks and Cheers Ken.

Very bad experience – Before Christmas my van was booked in to have my gas Hot water system fixed under warranty. They asked me to leave it with them in case they needed to get in a new part and fit it. Eight days later they ring me and tell me it needs a new solenoid. They fitted a second hand one in in case I needed to use it. Then yell me they are bust so come back… Read more

on the 21st March which is 3 months later. I arrive to fund my paper work has disappeared and they have no idea about what's going on with my van. I leave it another week. Get a call its fixed. Get it home and its still not working and to top it off there's a crack in my induction stove. They now are ignoring my emails and dint want to know about me. Very unprofessional and distressing for me.

Charged double what was quoted – Extremely disappointing, I was charged double the amount I was quoted, i was then told to pay up or no caravan even while i was trying to discuss the overcharging, then threatened to be charged storage fees for ever day I didn't pick up my van. See the directors response to my querying the over charging from what was quoted. Show details

Waste of time – Recently contacted Darios in relation to a water tank gauge. As we live 50 Km away and it was 37 degrees, I phoned first, to establish if they had the item I was after. Gave them the brand and was assured they had them in stock. An hour later, we get to the store, to find out the salesman was new and got it wrong. They do not have the item in… Read more

stock and would have to order it in.

To say I was annoyed was an understatement. But the manager did say sorry and walked away.

Betrayed – I bought a new caravan from Darios last year but unfortunately it was not suitable for our purpose and Darios very kindly accepted the caravan back and sold it on our behalf. The caravan was a good van and the service was very good, I thought I had established a good working relationship with this company, in particular the owner. However,… Read more

earlier this year I purchased from elsewhere a caravan more suited to my requirements but it required some modifications to meet my requirements. I considered Darios had the reputation, experience and ability to provide the service I required. How wrong I was. My requirement was to have a Truma hot water service installed, a replacement "brake-away" system installed, a rear view camera installed, modifications to the internal water supply including supplying and connecting the supply to the outside shower, check wheel bearings and replace if necessary, weld "Trail-a-Mate" blocks to the chassis and to provide gas and electric compliance certificates. I allowed two weeks for this work to be done as agreed with the Service Manager at Darios. I left my van with the on a Monday and I know nothing was done with it until Wednesday, which was O.K. as I knew they were busy and short of staff. I followed up several times during this two week period and was advised everything was on schedule, however, this was not the case. The Truma heater hadn't been ordered before my van went in for work to be done even though I had paid them $1,000 deposit, which was more than enough to pay for the heater and when the heater did arrive, apparently this was the wrong one. Then there was the issue of an extension vent for the heater, which wasn't discovered until two days before I was scheduled to pick up the van, which caused another panic as this had to come from interstate. The final connection of the heater was rushed on the Friday, the day I was scheduled to pick this van up, that's two weeks later after I had left it there and three days before I was scheduled to hit the road on a planned trip. Unfortunately, the outside shower had not been connected even though it only needed a shower head, everything else was already installed. Moreover, when I got home with the van I discovered the water system was leaking which required another rushed return of the van to Darios to fix on the Monday morning, most inconvenient. To date, the water heater works on gas, I have yet to get it work on electricity. The hot water system is my major gripe, the bearings were replaced and I now have a spare set. The "Brake Away" system appears to function correctly and the "Trail-a-Mate" blocks work as expected. The rear view camera is an absolute joke because it was installed by a sub contractor, it appears Darios do not have an auto electrician, and this guy is an absolute clown. I was told I could not have the camera installed where I originally requested it to be installed and without consultation a cheap camera was installed elsewhere with the wiring stuffed into spare wheel bracket, which became a complete nuisance. The camera did not come with a monitor and therefore rendered this whole exercise useless, I have since ripped out completely this shonky job and observed when doing so the cable had multiple joins in it, I really do not know why this person is contracted by Darios as he is useless. I will install the camera I require, where I require it at a later date and it will be a better installation than a so called professional. Another thing I requested was to have the waste water between the vanity and the shower connected, a job I could have easily have done myself but whilst the van was with Darios, I thought they just as well do this. Needless to say, I will be altering this in due course, I should have done it myself in the first place. Similarly, I asked for mains water connection to the tanks and some bizarre water connection was installed instead which constantly drips water, another job for me to investigate down the track. I am very, very unhappy with the quality of service I received with Darios and a similar comment was made to me by a fellow club member who had also recently had work done by Darios and was not happy, I think the word will be spreading. The most outrageous thing though was the $6,629.55 bill for this work to be done, $3,671.45 of this was for labour. I will not be going back to Darios even if requested to do remedial work that is obviously required, I do not think they are capable of doing a good job and I certainly do not want to be hit with another monstrous bill. I genuinely feel ripped off and betrayed.
