DB Dental
1 review
I have top cover extras from my Health fund in Sydney. Their Dental clinic told me that DB dental in Perth does no-gap clean and exams, so, I call them up and DB Dental say they have 'New customer no-gap Clean and Exam' for new customers. So, I'm expecting No-charge. I do the clean and exam, and afterwards they put through 4 x item numbers on the claim on my card. i) 011 - Oral Exam ii) 114- Removal of Calculus iii) 121- Topical Remineralising Agent iv) 072- Photographic records.
First, they said my health fund was down. So, they couldn't put it through. Second, they tried it again and it was declined. No explanation, so I just had to pay $233
Remember, I'm expecting no gap, no charge. I get back home, call my Fund twice and they confirm it should have been covered. They also say that if they put only the 1st three item numbers through (ie. 011, 114, 121) it would have been fully covered, no gap or out of pocket. DB Dental replied that as I was a 'New customer' they also include a no-gap on 072 - photographic records, BUT because my card was not working then, they had to charge me full price. I speak with my Health Fund, and they said by putting all 4 codes through the one claim, it was DENIED, they said they don't really include 072 in a standard no-gap clean and exam. I convey this to DB Dental. I also mention that I had NOT, I had NEVER agreed to 072 being done, I had never been asked nor was it agreed on, but they said that it was part of their 'Special New Customer- No Gap treatment'. But that was never made clear before the appointment or during the appointment. There was NEVER agreement on this service before it was done. More, item 072 is not part of the standard dental Clean and Exam, only 011,114,121. After visiting DB Dental again, I got a refund, they did not charge me for 072, after much dispute and time wasted.
Has anyone else had this experience, where an advertised 'No-Gap clean and exam' ends up claim Denied, and you out of pocket, and arguing for a refund?
