Looks great sadly worst toaster we have ever owned. Does not cook evenly. One side cooks other side not cook. the setting produce inconsistent results. 1. undercooks, 2. over cooks. Now 11 months old not cooking at all. Show details
We bought this DeLonghi toaster as a direct replacement for the one we’d had for years, expecting the same quality—but it’s been really disappointing. It takes about twice as long to toast, cooks very unevenly, and we’ve already had issues with one side not staying down properly. Honestly, the build quality feels like it’s gone downhill. As a… Read more
side note, we’re noticing the same thing with the DeLonghi kettle we replaced at the same time after installing our new kitchen.
Based on this experience, I’d be hesitant to recommend this brand anymore.

So sorry I outlaid good money for this thing It DOES NOT toast evenly on both sides and you better be close by when it ejects the toast cause it's most likely to end up on the floor . I contacted De'Longhi warranty and instead of being helpful they… Read more
gave me a run down of the claims procedure including videoing the toasting process I have no reason to lie about the units performance and reference to other reviews make similar complaints. So Instead of seeking a satisfactory outcome they've made it almost impossible to claim So this is my satisfaction to let people know unbiasedly just how bad the toaster is and just how bad De'Longhi are to deal with BUYER BEWARE
Follow-up · I love being treated like an id*ot Clearly I don't know which bread I need to use in this thing I thought a toasters job was to toast bread of my choosing Well no quite different compositions vary the way the bread is cooked I've provided photos as requested Still it appears it's my incorrect use which is the problem. I've asked for a refund which is proving difficult to obtain.

This toaster is one of my Best Buys ever! – I toast everything from toast, bread roles and I even toast my sandwiches with ham and cheese all at once too! The cheese doesn’t melt all through the toaster either Show details

Can't cook toast evenly on each side and there is no lift to check the toast. Toasters have been manufactured since the 1950s and we haven't been able to find a toaster the cooks evenly on both sides of the bread. Show details
Follow-up · Yes thickish bread, 2 crumb trays and the controls are easy but the there no ' lift to check' option. They make great cars, music and their architecture is great but they can't make toasters that that cook evenly!!

Wish me luck! – My previous example of this item finally packed up a few weeks ago. The side lever that enables the bread to retract refused to stay down, or only worked for a few seconds. The toaster was approaching its twelfth birthday and although it had admittedly fairly light use, I thought it had given reasonable service. I also liked its design and… Read more
cheerful red colour which fitted in with my previous kitchen's decor. Delonghi had the beige example on special, so I decided to take advantage of this offer. I mainly use it for thick, whole-grain bread. It appears to respond to adjustment and the bread doesn't get jammed. It was delivered promptly and the colour fits in with my present kitchen nicely. Although there seem to be a few quality control problems with this model, I hope it will emulate the first one.
Great toaster – I have had this toaster for years and it is used daily. Unfortunately, after a very long life, mine has died. I had absolutely no hesitation in buying another. I love the crumpet/bagel option and, although the toasting of bread can be a little uneven, compared with other toasters I've had, this is a small negative, it just means repositioning for a second go. I look forward to a long association with my new toaster.
Good toaster – We have had this for a while. Does the job well. The complaint about toasting half the bread are people who have pressed the crumpet function and not read the instructions. Show details

Absolutely useless toaster, simply does not cook evenly whatsoever. This is all while trying to toast ordinary sized bread. For the high price they charge, the product is just not worth paying for. Will certainly never purchase any de Longhi product again, never mind a toaster Show details

I have contacted delonghi as I have now had 2 of these toasters and they both toast one sided. Delonghi have said maybe it’s the bread and sugar content. I have toasted many breads even my own home made with no sugar content. It’s a good looking unit but doesn’t work properly which sucks for what you pay. The only good thing is it pops the toast out onto the floor and my grandson loves it. Show details
Nice on the eyes but not fit for function – Like all the others reviews, it toasts unevenly with one side burnt and the other not even brown. Doesn’t matter what bread or even crumpets, one side cooks more than the other. It’s also not on the “crumpet setting” as someone below suggested. You have to have it on a lower setting and flip the bread around to get an even toasts. Very… Read more
disappointing given the cost and the brand name. We will eventually get frustrated enough to throw it in the bin and buy anything else!

Nice looking but terrible toast – Bought this to replace an old Sunbeam cafe series which was terribly slow but did great toast and crumpets. This was the only one I could find with the crumpet/bagel setting - and for such an expensive toaster has been a huge disappointment. It is annoyingly inconsistent - one side will be nicely brown with the other side barely warmed, then next slices will be burnt. Show details

Very disappointed! – When I first saw this toaster I really liked the look of it, we bought the cream colour and it looked great in my kitchen (that's why I gave it 2 stars) .. and that's about as far as it went. At first the spring mechanism wouldn't stay down and the bread kept popping up, that soon rectified itself after a bit of fiddling around. Then we found it… Read more
wouldn't toast evenly, one side would be toasted and the other side barely at all, when you spend this much on a toaster I want it to toast evenly at least! The sourdough wouldn't go all the way down so we had to turn it and in the process the edges burnt and not toast the middle, same thing happened with bagels and crumpets. In hindsight I should have read the reviews before buying, I usually do but dropped the ball on this one. Don't waste your money on this toaster.

Worst toaster – Worst toaster only lasted 13 months never buy a DeLonghi product again Show details
Absolutely disgraceful – On the average setting of 3-3.5, toast comes out burnt every single time. Any less than 3-3.5 and it barely cooks; there’s no in-between. After 3 years, I’m sick of eating sh*t toast and have upgraded to a Smeg. Can’t wait to get rid of my DeLonghi. Show details
A triumph of form over function – I wouldn't normally bother writing a review of something as mundane as a toaster. However this particular appliance has motivated me to share my thoughts. As a toaster it's actually very good. It toasts evenly, fits large slices and the browning dials with their gauges are accurate, consistent and very pleasant to use. And it looks very stylish. … Read more
But this toaster is an absolute pain to clean. It's been cunningly designed with a lip around the top to trap lots of crumbs, and expertly fashioned to trap them there making them highly visible and almost impossible to dig out.
It feels like the DeLonghi design department finished the aesthetics and then went home early on Friday afternoon without bothering to actually think about how to clean the thing. I mean, it's a toaster - they get messy!
So if you're the sort of person who likes spending ages fiddling around getting crumbs out of their toaster - go for it!
If you're like everyone else on the planet and have better things to do I suggest you look at a different machine.
Pretty disappointing – I brought this because it matched my kettle and they do look stylish sitting on the counter, it does fit thick slices and bagels etc and this is why I probably gave it more stars than I should, but it just doesn’t toast evenly, one side of the bread will be hardly toasted whilst the other is nearly black. I thought about getting a replacement but… Read more
I’m assuming it will just have the same problem because a lot of people complain about this. The disappointing thing though is that there are complaints about this going back a couple of years or more, you think they could have resolved the problem in this time instead of continuing to sell and make these which have a pretty big problem.
Doesn’t Stay Down! – This toaster works fairly quickly, and toasts evenly - however it takes about 5 tries to get the toaster to stay down and start cooking! The lever seems to bounce off the bottom and spring straight back up. It would be great if they could make the slot slightly bigger as it only just fits square loaf bread. Show details
The beauty is skin deep – It's a great looking machine but this toaster simply doesn't toast. My 'toast' emerged toasted on one half of one side which means I would have to flip it 4 times. I returned it and purchased a Breville which is perfect. Show details

Undecided – Toasts evenly. But every day i burn my fingers because the bread is so hard to get out the toaster. Otherwise its fine. But I wouldn't but it again tho Show details

Absolutely Terrible Toaster – This toaster doesn't toast evenly. The settings are inconsistent, sometimes it toasts ok (not evenly on both sides though) and then other times on the same setting it burns the toast. Have used several different breads and all have had the same inconsistency. The silver top has tarnished. Definitely not worth the money. Show details
Totally packed it in after 3 years! – I am a single person living alone in which case toaster is definitely not over used. I use 2 slices of sourdough bread most days. It worked very well when it was working. Suddenly just stopped and won’t turn on. I have never had a toaster, even cheap ones do this before. Very disappointing. Show details
Worst toaster I have ever had – Bought Dec 2021. Worst decision. How can manufacture get toasting so wrong. Put it on no 1 it burns one side the other doesn’t even toast. Took 1st one back and got replacement. The 2nd one is exactly the same. Bought to match the DeLonghi kettle as wanted a set. Now in predicament as kettle is ok so if I return the 2nd replacement toaster, I’m… Read more
left with half a set. I bought the beige colour. Plus for the expensive price $150 odd, the silver st steel look is extremely cheap and started tarnishing immediately . Cheaply made for sure. Really let’s down the brand hopefully Delonghi reads these reviews as I’m not the only one experienced the above.
Cord too short, can’t plug in anywhere – This toaster is incredibly disappointing. It looks great on my bench top, but since the cord is so short, it’s utterly useless. I can’t even plug the ridiculous thing in anywhere. For such an expensive toaster, you’d expect better. I’ve had to continue using my old toaster while this one just sits on the bench serving nothing but decorative… Read more
purposes. Delonghi have clearly cut corners and skimped on this toaster. Instead of making the cord a reasonable and functional length, they’ve put in their instruction manual that ‘the use of extension cables is not recommended’… Brilliant! That’s literally the only way I could possibly use this thing without having to rewire my kitchen.
What do you call a toaster that doesn’t toast? – To be fair, it’s not just this brand that fails the muffin and crumpet test, but at the price? It should be able to perform these basic functions. It’s fine for toasting bread, even and consistent. Ours is still under warranty, so I’ll be returning it, throwing another $50 at the problem and upgrading. Fingers crossed. Show details
Worst appliance we have ever owned – The basic function of a toaster is to toast bread and somehow this can’t manage that reliably. It is as though it has a mind of its own, and decides sometimes to burn the toast on one or both sides - irrespective of what ‘toast colour’ setting is selected. If you are thinking of buying this toaster, hit your head firmly against a hard surface.… Read more
If you are still thinking of buying it, go to K-Mart, buy a $5 toaster and set fire to however much money you have saved by dodging this bullet.
Does not toast evenly – Cooks one side at least twice as much as the other. Often only cooks one side. Terrible. I returned to Myer and got a replacement, the replacement had exactly the same problem as the first Show details
Perfect and great looking toaster – This is our second Delonghi toaster, we wanted a refresh, our last delonghi toaster was 7 years old and still working perfectly. It’s easy to clean, looks great, has all of the required settings and is a perfect match to the Icona kettle. Show details
Don’t buy – Purchased this toaster in Metallics Azure Blue. Looks great but toasts horribly. Only one side toasts correctly and other side of bread is not done. Would not recommend at all. I’ve tried normal white bread and crumpets - makes no difference. Still only browns one side. Purchased matching kettle and would not recommend this either, Extremely noisy when boiling water. Stay away from Delonghi Show details
Can not fault – Before I purchased the DeLonghi 4 slice toasters I had been disappointed in others I had tried and returned. This one toasts evenly, has two independent adjustable temperature options, different thicknesses can be toasted simultaneously which is fantastic, hubby crumpets, me breakfast muffins and they don't get jammed! It has proved easy to clean and after nearly 3 years of use still looks great. Show details
Good unit but died after 2 years – I liked this unit although it didn't cook as evenly as I would have liked. My main gripe though is that the "spring up" bit died after 2 years - with a 1 year warranty Show details
Terrible toaster – Looks really good. But that’s the only good thing I have to say about it. Unevenly cooked toast from day one. Sometimes only cooks one side, even if you don’t select that function. Very disappointed. Contacted DeLonghi, no response. Poor customer service and a poor product. Show details
Some retailers just don't care about the quality any more – I'm in my 60's and have lived life well. For me to complain about a toaster is a first.
