ALERT be warned oil heater exploded spewing oil everywhere – I purchased the DeLonghi 2400W Radia S Column Oil Heater in April ready for winter. At the start of August the heater exploded, sparking and fizzing then released all the oil over the floor, luckily nobody got injured but the oil damaged the carpet, which needs replacing and omitted a really bad smell which lingered for weeks. Unfortunately, we… Read more

bought two of the same model and now I am worried that the same thing will happen to the other heater. I will not be buying a DeLonghi product again.

Great Oil Heater Does the Job – Bought this from the retail shop " The Good Guys" Great price $190 brand new comes with a 7yr warranty. I have a large room with an ensuite, & huge walk in wardrobe & it heats the all the areas in my room very easily. Close the bedroom door to achieve fast heating to your room. Operating Functions on it are very easy to use and straight forward,… Read more

The timer on it is a great feature, before I head out in the morning to the gym @5am, (Winter now), I will turn it on & set the timer for 1 hr, and when i get home its switched off, and the room is nice and warm. I also use it in my home office, easy to push around on its wheels.

Initially I was contemplating on buying a second hand oil heater from Facebook marketplace (I have purchase 2 Big Home gas heaters from FBMP, ...which I've had for over 2yrs now)......But after reviewing the prices that people wanted for their second hand ones.....It only costs a few more dollars to get this one with a 7yr warranty.....its was a no brainer!!. Great Price brand New. Stylish design in this color with the digital screen. Very Happy with this purchase,

Really good heater – It works great and it’s consistent Easy to move Long warranty period (though their preferred repairs in Frankston could work on their customer service skills) I have a $899 HP07 Dyson that has heat and cool function but the thermostat on the Dyson is so way off compared to this The good thing is you can wheel this into position as well The one… Read more

thing in some of the other comments is regarding the on off sound or consistent ‘crackling’ sound One of our relatives had this occur to him it was due to moving the unit over uneven surfaces (rug in the hallway between bedrooms) while the unit was still heated - this creates air bubbles which makes the crackling sound. To fix this keep the unit off for a week or so on a flat surface and don’t move it over uneven surfaces while the unit has heated up

Anyway

Things I like - heats well - no sore throat type after affects you get from ducted heating - thermostat is very accurate - reasonable price point - the power usage is a lot lower then the dyson

Things I don’t like - caster wheels could be smoother - when the room becomes a fair bit colder in the early hours of morning (6-9 degrees outside) the unit struggles to stay in the top range of your desired temp (i.e. 17temp on the highest level should heat a room to 17.9degrees as it does most of the day/ night but when it comes to 4/5/6 am it’s more like 16.5 degrees)

Overall I would recommend this heater

So glad we purchased this brand – The Delonghi TRRS1224EG is a great heater with alot of features which are a must have. A bit of background on how we came about to purchase the Delonghi model. We originally bought the Aldi brand oil column heater on an impluse (yes the special buys aisle got us) but when we got it home we realised it wasn't for us as we could not accurately… Read more

set the desired temperature and the thermostat continually turned off before reaching the set temperature, so after 1 nights use back this went for a refund..

We then decided to look into brand name oil column heaters and ended up purchasing the Delonghi brand and so glad we did.

Features include a digital led control panel where you set the desired room temperature, adjust the power levels and a countdown timer to automatically turn the under on or off. This is a great feature so you can have it on while going to sleep, but set it to turn off a hour later without having to get out of bed :)

The room thermostat works a treat and is very accurate, cutting out when the room reaches the desired temperature. I found it not to be noisy at all when heating. It has 3 power levels - 1100, 1400 & 2400 and the higher power level you chose the quicker it will heat up. Also handy is the good length power cord, so it does not have to be positioned close to the power outlet. Comes with a 7 year warranty which is a bonus.

We purchased this for our grandsons room when he stays overnight and it heats up to desired temperature really fast / within 15 minutes and the room is nice and warm. We also move it to our bedroom when he's not staying over, which is very easy to do with the built in casters.

So glad we purchased this heater. It's features including safety cut-out are great if you are apprehensive about having a heater on in a bedroom while alseep.

Good heater, but it makes too much noise – I bought this heater for my baby's room, it heats the space in 5-10 minutes. It keeps the space warm and cosy, but it makes so much noise that my daughter wakes up with the crackling. Show details

DeLonghi is bad news...cold winters – Bought a radia s black model from Bing Lee Carlingford in 2018.We could not use it earlier as much however now being in Sydney decided to stay warm but even with 28deg max temp setting the heater covers not even 2 feet area.Yes 2 feet or less only literally have to sit on it to stay warm.Tall claims by Delonghi is an eye wash as even after… Read more

complaining requesting a replacement or refund they are all busy and can't attend to complaints because of high volumes of complaint in covid times?Looks like money wasted and no more Delonghi and this almost new heater will keep reminding us Delinghi owes us money and also responsible for cold winter days and nights until we get a new one that works definitely not Delonghi!!!!

Great until it stops working correctly – We loved this heater so much we bought two for our sons rooms. Knowing it has digital temperature function helped knowing they wouldn’t get too hot and it would turn off at the temperature we selected. But sadly after three years one has stopped working correctly at all. Our son kept waking and through the baby monitor we could hear a very loud… Read more

banging and clicking noise. I rang customer service and was told to take it to a repair centre which upon showing them they agreed the unit wasn’t working as it should and sounded like it was trying to constantly click on or off. However after they spoke to a DeLonghi service manager, it was deemed a “normal” noise. They were embarrassed to call me and tell me they couldn’t do anything further even though the noise doesn’t sound right. It’s constant and extremely loud and never used to make this noise. I know these heaters can make some noise (our other one will make one click when it turns on or off) however for it to repetitively make a noise so loud it wakes us up from the baby monitor then it’s far too loud. Extremely disappointing customer service. It’s not a cheap product at $199.95. It’s not working as we bought it or how the other identical model works but to them... the noise is “normal”. Yeah right, thanks DeLonghi. I have lost all faith in your company and it’s products.

Good heater overall – Purchased this heater about 1.5 months ago. Overall: Happy with the heating it provides. Would prefer analogue control rather than digital. Heating: We bought it knowing that it won't be actively circulating heated air. More than enough to heat up a bedroom ~15sqm at 5.30am within about 15 minutes. It would take about 5 minutes to heat up a… Read more

small bathroom with tiles. Our primary living room is larger (~35sqm) and has timber flooring and multiple windows with very poor insulation - so the heat seems to get lost very quickly. To be fair, this is not the fault of this heater.

Digital control: Looks nice, but if I were to buy again I would buy one with analogue control. The timer is only capable of delayed start OR stop (eg. start in 2 hours or stop in 4 hours) - not both. Also, it is NOT capable of starting at a designated time on the 24hr clock. Additionally, this CANNOT be circumvented by using a smart-plug or an external timer at the power point, because the power button needs to be pressed manually after the "plugging in" in order for the heater to start working. In other words, it cannot be automated because merely plugging in to power does NOT start heating - someone MUST be there to press the ON button first.

Robustness: The unit seems to cope with continued usage of ~12 hours at max output. So far, so good.

ALL THE WARMZ!! – I purchased this heater over a week ago from Harvey Norman. I was a bit hesitant because it's my first oil heater and due to all of the nasty smell review I read. I have the most sensitive nose so I thought I'd better plug it in on the deck outside. Within 12 hours I was able to use it. I tried it in the medium sized lounge room (4x7) and it made me nice and toasty within two hours! Over the moon with my purchase! Best heater I've ever! Show details

Background heat only, not warm – Extremely disappointed with the heat emitted. If you stand very close to the heater, within one inch, YES it is warm. It does not effectively heat a room that is 20 square metres, it only provides background heat and for me, didn't feel like it took the chill off the room, DEFINITELY NOT WARM Enough. Bought from Harvey Norman for $199 who would… Read more

not allow me to publish review on their website as it did not meet their guidelines. I ended up buying a $34 bar heater from Bunnings (3 heat settings: 750, 1500 and 2200). The 750 watts emitted from the cheap Arlec heater is proving to be far more effective than the Delonghi 2400 watt 'background' heater. Not worth the $199 spent. Don't waste your money.

Excellent room heater – Bought this heater a couple of weeks ago and it has been brilliant. Bought it to warm up a large bedroom and it has done the job only sitting on the medium heat setting. The thermostat was set once and hasn't needed to be readjusted again. Was considering buying the heater with the fan but it is definitely not required. Would not hesitate to recommend this heater

Very Useful Heater – Highly recommend this heater, we purchased this product for our sons nursery as we live in a very old house with no insulation so having the digital thermostat and timer function was a need. The matte dark grey finish is very appealing compared to your tradition white heaters. You have the function to set it on low or high function to ensure… Read more

you get the full heat functionality in colder climates. The heater heats up very quickly, it is quite warm to touch so definitely keep it out of reach of children.

The buttons are quite loud when changing or turning on so not the best idea to change the heater settings while your child sleeps.

It is as energy efficient as a thermostat heater can be.

Great heater, keeps the room nice and warm – This is a great heater, it gets warm very quickly and can keep a room at a nice temperature at a lower setting. The 2400w really kicks in and makes the room really warm. However this comes with a bigger cost on the electricity bill and being 2400w is expensive to run - and not something you'd want on all day. Probably on a few hours in the evening… Read more

at most. It also has a nice 24hr timer which is handy.

It wouldn't be ideal for a huge open space, but does the job of keeping my main living area warm on cool nights.

The retractable/tuck in feet are really hand for storage. Although the machine itself is quiet heavy to lift and move.

Terrible – We bought this for our baby room 5 months ago. You need to use it at least 6 or 7 times in an open area, would be best to do it outside to get rid of the awful thick dusty smelling air. Only heats up small rooms. Once finally in the baby room its makes really loud cracking sounds all night which wakes up the baby and us constantly. Randomly… Read more

Sleak and working! – My previous Delonghi model had non-stop noise issue so I had to get a new one. This one looks so sleak and operates quietly, digital screen is a plus and thanks to temperature reading. Timer has to be set every time. I recommend this one and this pros will last long.  Show details

Powerful yet reliable heater – I was a bit sceptical about oil heater as some users suggested it could be slow to warm a room. Before deciding to go for one, I ensure it has enough power for my living room and the heater must be safe and reliable. After research, I went for DeLonghi for its wide range and longer warranty offered. No regret at all after one whole winter. This… Read more

oil heater would not overly dry the room so it's comfortable with it turned on even for longer duration. Power was sufficient for my living room as I have never needed to wait for the room to get warm enough. Operation was quiet too except a bit of smell when the heater was turned the first few times. I think this is normal for such high heat appliance.

Strongly recommended for those whose skin cannot take other type of heater.

Quality : 5/5

Easy of operation : 4/5 (timer could be easier to set)

Practicality : 5/5

Value for money : 5/5

Awesome unit – Was a litte more expensive then other similar units but is super quiet and doesnt make any crackling noises.. I do advise running it for an hour or so before first use as there is an oil smell first time using it but other then that it heats up very quickly and radiates heaps of heat  Show details

Great Heater – Great product, very good looking heater. and the digital panel is quite easy to use compare to the old model. I bought it when the winter came this year, This heater can easily heater up a 20 square meter master room. in about 30 - 40 mins. the cons is it's quite smell in the first few weeks. after about 2 weeks the smell are less and more acceptable.  Show details

Great heater! – Its a great heater... purchased from Myer. The heater heats up really fast and keeps the baby's room warm all night. Also, holds temperature of the room through cold nights very well. Very straight forward to use. Only issue is... the smell when using 'maximum' - may need to be to be aired for longer than the manual recommends.  Show details

A quality heater. Issues with smell at first but seem to have gone after a month or so – This is a good product which we have had no issues with apart from a strong metallic smell which lasted for 6 weeks or so. The brochure warns there will be a smell for the first few hours of operation but this lasted much longer. Anyway apart from this it has been a good heater. It heats a medium sized room. We largely leave it on over night on the low eco setting stop temp dropping too low. Apart from the smell it is a good unit.  Show details

Excellent oil heater! – Love this heater! It works perfect in winter and since it is an oil heater, the heat last way longer than if we use a fan heater. Our room has a bathroom so it is quite a big space but this heater works well. One thing I love is because it has a timer so we can turn it on for 1-2 hour before we go to sleep and 1-2 hour before we wake up in the morning. It also comes with 7 years warranty.  Show details
