So disappointed - prolapsed sides – This is my 3rd design model mattress, this one is a bodyfit active A1, it’s less than 4 years old. My best friend and I bought the same mattress at the same time, he has replaced his already due to the same problem and now it’s likely I will have to replace it also, the sides have prolapsed over the bed frame and left big valleys on top. I weigh… Read more

59kg and my husband is 98kg, there is a hollow where his head goes and one around my bottom and legs. I always have a sore back. The integrity of the mattress has disintegrated. I’m really unhappy.

Design Mobel energise is too hot! Sleeping in hell – The energise mattress seemed like the perfect fit for us at the store as we were looking at a firm bed that would reduce partner disturbance + top end materials that were enviro friendly. We were very happy with our purchase, it looked beautiful in our room....until the first night when we woke up in the middle of the night feeling extremely HOT… Read more

and sweating! This was a type of heat that we never experienced before, It felt like we were burning and this heat was coming from the mattress! After extensive research online we found that we were not the only ones, even when we came back to the store to complain someone mentioned that people in Australia complain lots about this bed because of the weather there (this is definitely not a mattress for warm or humid places).

We tried to fix the issue upgrading our sheets to bamboo (believe me, if there are any polyester or synthetic materials around you, these will make you even warmer) and tried a foam mattress on top, and also bought an underlay (100%wool) and used it on the reverse side (100%cotton) which was the only thing that helped somehow. Even with these new additions the mattress was is still too hot to be comfortable so we decided to get rid of it. We would have appreciated that there was information about this "potential" issue from the start or a warning about materials being too hot. I am sure if you don´t mind the extreme heat you will be very happy with the mattress -it´s perfect until the heat stroke.

Design Mobel still going strong – I have had my design Mobel mattress (Energise 200 - top range) for 17 years and it is still going strong. The fact that you can adjust the tension on the slat beds, is brilliant, and I have the best night's sleep ever. So does everyone else who sleeps on it!!!!

Extremely Comfy, with Support – Been sleeping on my Design Mobel Energise Soft mattress, on a solid base, for nearly 3 years. Still feels like new and is very comfy and supportive. This was a replacement for a water bed I had and loved for 30 years, that finally fell to pieces, and I reluctantly had to replace it. I tried out quite a few beds, and all were so-so, until I tried… Read more

this one. Bought it on the spot it felt so different and comfy to other mattresses. Have never regretted it. Never had a back ache, nor any aches. In fact, if I go to bed with a back ache it's always gone in the morning. Highly recommend it.

Cannot figure out why other people were so disappointed with it. Perhaps the solid base has made a difference to mine.

Disappointed – We purchased an E1 energize bodyfit a few years ago. We were told it would last many years, however after about 1 year I added a thick mattress protector to get better support. A few years on and we wake up every day with sore hips and back, due to the mattress sinking where we sleep. The bamboo cover, despite protecting our mattress with several… Read more

layers, has developed pinkish staining on it. We now have to replace it to be able to wake up feeling better and what do we do with the great heavy lump? I liked the fact it was made of natural materials does not perform as was advertised.

Best bed I've ever had!! – We purchased a Design Mobel Pulse bed & mattress. We loved it - then our (at the time) toddler son wet it so we had to replace it. Latex + wee = not good!! Anyway, new mattress is better than the old one. No dents, no sore back but we have adjusted our slats accordingly - med/firm. This bed was the best during 2 pregnancies ... I just… Read more ·  1

adjusted and moved slats to support my body as it grew! Everything. It can be a tad heavy when changing sheets.

Best sleep in years – I bought my Design Mobel bodyfit mattress 3 years ago from Snooze at Moorepark. I didn't by the bed, just the mattress with latex outer and individual pocketed spring core. In the last 16 years, I've had the Sealy Posturepedic Advance and a custom made full latex mattress. None of them compare to my current Design Mobel Bodyfit mattress. I have… Read more

always had back and neck pain (from an old spine injury) and since I've had this mattress, I've had no more pain. At over $3K, it was worth every cent and is the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned. I have not had any problems with the stitching coming apart as mentioned in other reviews, everything is still like the day I bought it. If I had to buy another mattress now, I'd choose the Design Mobel Bodyfit mattress again in an instant. Very supportive and comfortable mattress Nothing

Worst mattress ever owned – I agree with the adverse comments above. One wakes up in a hole with sore back and hips. I had a Sealy but after 15 years replaced with this Design Mobel. A lot of hype that it did not live up to. I fail to see why these materials are good. In Auckland we have temperate weather with occasional hot nights. The mattress was unusable on hot… Read more

nights.

I had the shop people out and also contacted the manufacturer.

It was never their fault.

The mattress was delivered folded over by their delivery people but the shop people even denied this. I wish I had videoed this but it is hardly the start of a great relationship.

The mattress is floppy and hard to manage even with two people.

Even my water bed from the 1980s gave better support.

This is just spongy and unsupportive so whether it is latex does not much matter.

One night it was so uncomfortable I slid it onto the floor, pumped up the airbed, and put that on the bed frame. This was better. ($60 airbed better than a $2000 mattress!)

I used this until I purchased a new mattress.

Design Mobel resulted in an extra hour in bed because it was inefficient sleep as no comfortable position can be found yet I was still tired. It amplified heat.

I tried to pad it up with blankets and rugs but the base was still so floppy.

I have never paid this amount for a product and found it so flawed.

And it affects everything you do as physical health is degraded and one is left tired. Soreness lasted 45 minutes into the morning.

This A2 bodyfit mattress is in the garage. I can’t sell it as I don’t want others to suffer.

floppy and unsupportive to the point of creating structural health problems that did not exist. Soreness gone with new -other brand- mattress.

Great mattress after 18 months use – I am a hot sleeper, my wife is not. We had shopped around and done a lot of research before purchasing the Energise 2 mattress and set 3/2 slat system. I was dubious and it wasn't until later that I read reviews (which were pretty average) so naturally I was worried. Our purchase was based on research of materials used in the mattress because of… Read more

the climate in North Queensland. (It's hot, muggy and moist with the occasional cool). The wool/latex/cotton/bamboo combination was a risk but after 18 months one I would take again in a heartbeat. In that time I have had the best 18 months sleep of my life with no problems associated with my previous mattresses ( sealy, beard and later a my side) all of which were a mistake on my research which led me to sleeping very hot or/and developing shoulder and back pain.

We opted for the coil spring free version and I'm very glad I did.

We have had no issues with tearing of the seams as was mentioned in an earlier post and I am surprised that someone mentioned they felt hot as this is the only mattress I have felt cool in. In fairness, I purchased a "floor stock" mattress and as such it may have been well tested by consumers before ending up in my bedroom.

Recently we went to purchase another mattress for our guest bedroom, sadly design mobel sold out to another company in 2012. Although their slat system has been continued their mattress manufacturing has not.

I was a little disappointed in their bed frame which was made of MDF all around except the bed head which was solid wood. MDF is such a weak substitute for wood and fails in the humidity of North Queensland. (Cairns) The mattress and its breathing ability The bed frame ( not slats) made of MDF

Great sleep for 5 years – I too purchased my Design Mobel bed and mattress at Moore Park Snooze, about 5 years ago. Yes - expensive at about $5K for both parts, but I value my sleep and tend to only replace my bed every ten years or so. I've been sleeping beautifully ever since and the whole bed is in as perfect condition as the day I bought it despite constant bed use… Read more

of the usual sorts and a couple of house moves.

I have the latex mattress with no springs, but my mother has at her house one of the combo latex and spring mattresses, and one with springs only. We both find that all three beds are super comfy, as do all her house guests.

I would say that the sprung mattress are easier to move due to enhanced rigidity, and are also slightly cooler to sleep in which matters to some. But I like the squishy resilience of my latex 'nest'. The sensation of softness but utterly supported. And no partner disturbance at all.

And the slat system of the bed is top notch, in the European tradition with properly tensioned slats. It is designed as an integrated system with the mattresses and I can't say how these mattresses work on other bases, but mine is fab.

Not sure about the reviewer here who says her mattress was falling apart... I cannot fault the quality of construction of any of the three beds and mattresses my mum and I own.

Would I buy a Design Mobel bed again? Absolutely. Quality and comfort. Appealing modern design. Natural materials.

Badly constructed; even worse custumer service – I purchased a Design Mobel Energise 2 mattress in early 2010 from Snooze Moorepark, Sydney, Australia as per the store's recommendation. The mattress cost me close to $3,000. Within a few months the top cover of the mattress had developed massive tears along the seams and across the cover. Snooze collected the mattress and replaced the cover -… Read more

returning it to me 1 month later not completely re-stitched. Snooze sent the Design Mobel sales rep to my home to check the mattress out. After much arguing and letters from me to Snooze requesting a refund and threatening legal action (the mattress failed to comply with consumer warranties set by law which apply regardless of a store/manufacturer's printed warranty terms) the mattress was replaced with a harder feel 'Energise 3' six weeks later. Within two weeks of delivery of the 2nd mattress, I had to call Snooze to advise the store that the 2nd mattress had already started to tear in a similar fashion as the 1st mattress. Snooze and Design Mobel refused to repair or replace the 2nd mattress as they believed they 'had done enough' for me - Snooze's hands were tied as the manufacturer, Design Mobel, would not permit the store to give me a refund. No offer was made to repair the 2nd mattress either. Unbelievably, I had to lodge a complaint at the Office of Fair Trading NSW and then a claim at the Consumer, Trader & Tenancy Tribunal to 'reject' the 2nd mattress and get my money back! Over a year later, two tribunal conciliation attendances, time off work and stress, I have finally got my refund and Snooze has taken the 2nd mattress away!! Design Mobel still insists there is no manufacturing fault or otherwise with the Energise style of mattress. I recommend you do not buy one!!!

expensive, terrible quality, heavy, shocking customer service, failure to comply with consumer warranties

don't bother – Mattress was good for about 2 month's. After that we would wake up in a hole with sore backs. Talked to snooze and they had some guy to come out to check. He said that we need to get more support for our bed frame. So I put in 2 extra beams. He then asked me to put the mattress on its side and take photos. Its a latex mattress! Its not solid!… Read more

They are a bunch of [censored word removed]. Never ever ever buy snooze!!!!!!!! The worst part is it cost me and my partner over 3 grand. What a joke. First 2 months were very good. Sore back in the morning. waking up in a divert.

Bad – Stick with a great quality spring mattress that you will be happy with for longer and pay at the end of the life of the mattress to have it recycled. Biodegradable and lighter than my previous top of the range 11000 spring mattress. Hot feet! I was told in the shop to get a lighter downer to counteract the fact that the mattress gets hot but… Read more

that's just a sales pitch. The bottom line is you toss and turn all night finding a cooler spot to lie on and I'm not a 'hot sleeper' as they like to say to make you think there is some thing wrong with you. I've also been sleeping on it for a week and have lower back pain for the fist time in 2 years.
