Amazing drill, regret not buying this sooner! – I wish I bought this drill sooner, I previous had an Ozito Hammer Drill, and using that drill to drill into masonry, it was an almost impossible job, some holes took me 30-60 minutes as the drill would always overheat and I would run out of physical energy. This drill, for the same type of hole, I could do it in 10 seconds with very minimal… Read more
energy. If buying this for masonry/brick, I would highly recommend this drill.
Bought this as a kit with 2 X 5 Ah batteries, charger and a hard case.
solid medium duty tool – Good medium duty drill. Kit with charger and 6ah flexvolt battery was great value. Had it for a couple of years now and no problems. Metal chuck is good at this price point. My only problem with it is there is no handle supplied or available. This shows that dewalt do not consider this a heavy duty usage tool. If you're using an auger or spade… Read more
bit a side handle is essential imo if you value your wrist! Not sure about other review complaining about battery being too heavy. Be grateful dewalt bundled a big battery in the kit, it may be overkill but you'll never run out and buy a light 2ah battery if needed.
Lovely bit of kit – I have had this drill for a few months and it has worked perfectly. Love the sturdy attractive design and the general feel of it. Ample battery power and a ton of features. Honestly, I would rather have this tool than a Rolex watch. Show details
DCD796 – The DCD796 is the next version of the drill. It came in a kit with impact driver DFC887 from Bunnings. The DCZ266TI kit came with a 6Ah battery and charger It appears solid and well made, but the battery is ridiculously heavy - more than the weight of the drill - making the small battery drill heavier than my old corded drill. I would have… Read more
preferred 2 3 Ah batteries.
There is small but noticeable chuck wobble. I tried the hammer drill setting and the chuck undid itself. The drill is quite noisy.
Dewalt has a 30 day no questions asked return and I intend to replace it with a Makita kit.
I would not recommend this product.
