Dickies Tree Service

Another very good job completed for us by Dickies Tree Services – We were again impressed by the service provided by Dickies Trees. They arrived on time, discussed the scope of work with us then proceeded to complete the work in a very efficient & competent manner.

Devastated – A large part of our huge old mulberry tree recently fell down during high winds, blocking access to our backyard. I called Dickies because they advertise emergency services, as well as arborist and tree surgeon services. They came out early the next day to give me a quote for the damaged part to be removed, and the tree thinned out and shaped. The team arrived in the afternoon with instructions to cut it down to the ground. The arborist argued that it was rotten, it was ‘crap’, it was ‘ugly’ and that if someone else moved into the house they would remove it. He kept asking why I wanted to keep the tree - was it for sentimental reasons? It was as much as I could do to get them to leave four huge old limbs, like a frame.

Then the arborist asked if my huge old jacaranda was an almond tree!

I’ve since learned that if I had called pretty much any tree lopping company that knows how to preserve trees I would have been able to keep much of our beautiful old tree as it was. I am devastated that we have lost the shade, as well as the birds and insects that lived in the tree. All because I chose Dickies. My complaint to them has gone unanswered.
