Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Hi Jamie The temperature appears to be showing degrees Fahrenheit. You can change this as follows (as per the manual): “To change temperature settings from celcius to fahrenheit or vice versa, when the unit is plugged in and under stand by, push the 'function mode' button for 5-10 seconds.”

Does stand by mean on or off?

My machine is just over 2 yrs old... It comes on then just goes off again. I can’t manually use it without the remote. I have tried cleaning filters opening the little plugs . I’ve also been talked thro on phone to leave it then do a sequence of switching on and off. It did come on but it’s going the same thing just flashing . Can you advise . I can get no engineer to look at t. Do u have someone locally here in Adelaide I can use.

Hi Angela, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not supply spare parts for this model so therefore we do not have repair agents. Please contact a small electrical appliance repairer in your area and they may be able to repair it for you.

Where can I buy a new pipe temp sensor??

Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Good morning Isaac, Unfortunately Glen Dimplex do not have spare parts available for the portable air conditions. During the warranty period it is a replacement warranty and not a repair.

Isaac
Isaac

Can I get specifications for the temp sensor so I can get it repaired? Seems silly to sell a product that can only be fixed during the short warranty period.

please try to flow off water from the water tank . Maybe it is on the left side back bottom and covered by a small cap. Put a tray under the water tank and open the small cap to flow off water.

Hi RubyMaxH, Our technical department has advised that the red light could be indicating that the appliance is on. Please contact our Customer Care team on 1300 556 816 so we can troubleshoot with you regarding your settings to blow cool air. We will also then be able to send you an instruction manual if you would like.

My dimplex air conditioner refuses to turn on. All other buttons work fine however I cannot turn it on for it to blow out air. How do I get it off sleep mode or any ideas on how to turn it on ?

Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Hi Talei C

If your air conditioner is still within the 2 year warranty period please return it to the place of purchase with your purchase receipt for replacement.

Nad
Nad · DIMC10/12/15RC

My aircon will cool for about 2 minutes and then the compressor cuts out and the snowflake starts flashing. What does this mean? Just as the room starts to get cool, it shuts off and the room stays hot. Super annoying.

Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Hello Nad Assuming the following> *that the unit is set for cooling rather than either dehumidify or heating ie displaying the ‘snowflake’ symbol *that the display is holding solid (rather than continuing to flash as it will until the compressor engages)

*the exhaust hose is placed correctly so that the hot air is being vented outside

*the unit is being operated on a flat, firm surface with the drain plug in place

*filters are clean with no dirt or particulates visible

*air inlet and outlets are clear and unblocked

*the unit is not situated in direct sunlight

*the room being cooled is closed up as much as possible ie doors & windows closed, blinds/ curtains drawn etc

If all the above are true and cold air cannot be felt coming from the front vents, you are able to return your product to the store for replacement within the 24 month warranty period offered by the manufacturer (as long you can verify purchase details by showing original invoice).

Asif
Asif

Hi Glen, What if I do not have the original purchase receipt? Mine was working fine till today, it was 39 degrees and the aircon ran straight for 5 or 6 hours. Then had a break - 3 hours later switched it on but the air is no longer cool like before. Just can working even though there is a definite noise of compressor engaging...

Please advise.

Please check with the retailer you purchased your product from and they may be able to print another receipt for you.

Hello, thank you for your Question, first is the machine set to cool not heat. When you turn the machine on the snow flake light up when on cold. Please download the manual, the manual will let you know your setting cold or heat and the vent is around the right way One way for Heating and Other way for cooling.I hope this is helpful and if anymore question please ask or contact Dimplex for help. ALL THE BEST TO YOU..

Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Hi Param, Ensure the unit is plugged in and turned on at the wall but turn off at the control panel. Press and hold the “function” button on the unit for about 5 seconds until a ‘beep’ is heard. Then push “power” button on to return power to the unit, the display board should now show either a ‘Celsius’ reading or allow you to select your preferred read out between “Fahrenheit” or “Celsius”. If this is not what you meant please contact our Customer Care team on 1300 556 816 and we will try and assist you further.

Hello Cinny

This small tray can go underneath the bottom plug outlet if you need to drain the unit. It does not get fitted inside the unit.

Ange · DIMC12RC (3.5kW)

Hi

I want to purchase a dimplex portable aircon for our 5x3m caravan.

Is there any recommendation as to which model is best in efficiency, ampere and sizing ?

Thank you!!

Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Hi Ange Thank you for your query. We would always recommend that you take into consideration not only the size of the area that you wish to cool but also environmental factors such as: type and thickness of insulation in walls and roof / number of windows/ positioning of the van ie is there any chance for shade during the day or is would you be in full sun where the van is positioned?

Given that our portable coolers are not designed primarily for use in locatable homes and vans, these factors can be a determining factor in your decision.

We would also recommend that you choose the largest unit for the area to be cooled based on your responses to the above.

This will ensure that the product cannot only reduce the ambient temperature but also maintain the required temperature without constant strain on the motor/ compressor.

Please feel free to discuss your requirements with the sales person at your local retail outlet as they are best placed to assist - taking all factors into consideration.

Hello Ange, Thank you for your Question, I would go for the 15rc (4.4). I have being living in a caravan when I was younger, the 12rc(3.5kw) would do the job, but on the 40c+'s days it would work a hard. I would chose the 15rc (4.4) I have 2 models the 10rc for a bedroom it's great and the 15rd (4.4kw) for the lounge room the roughly the same size, it's a old house,it's a great machine. Like with any purchase do your homework, ask plenty of question, go to the different company's web sites.I hope this helps you and please if you have any more questions please ask me. THANK YOU.....

Hello - am thinking of the Dimplex DC09mini for our cafe kitchen - we have no open flame we just use a grill and a oven and an electric hotplate - area is 4 x 3 would this product work in this space?

Dimplex
Dimplex   DM

Hi Point Lookout G, The DC09MINI will cool a room up to a maximum of 15m2 and has not been designed to cope with the added heat of kitchen appliances in a Café. This air cooler would be perfect for a small bedroom for example.
