Great affordable dishwasher – Have had this for over a year and am still really happy with it. I use it with Coles ultra tablets and a tiny sprinkle of finish powder for the pre-rinse. Everything comes out perfect. Even dishes with cheese and egg like carbonara, perfectly clean, no need to rinse. I normally use the normal or heavy cycle. Very rarely is something not clean, maybe if another dish blocks it, like normal. Pots with boiled veges are notoriously hard to remove the food from around the top, this dishwasher on the heavy cycle will remove about 80% of that. I've used more expensive machines that don't remove it at all. All the dishes come out dry, except where water settles, as expected. Just open it, tip out anything that holds water and it dries quite quickly. The machine is quiet, no annoying beep when it's done, just turns off 5 minutes after its finished. It also cleans itself quite well, I do clean the filters but there's rarely anything in them. I only wish that you could fold down the plate racks on the bottom tray but eh. Often on special at the good guys too. It's also very simple to use. 100% recommend. It is a cheaper machine but it works great, does what it needs to do.
Purchased at The Good Guys.
Stopped working – This dishlex dishwasher only lasted for 2 years then it became blocked. It is not the best dishwasher I've ever used, as the racks always fell over when you put in dishes or cutlery. Which was very frustrating putting them all back up all the time. The only dishwasher tablets it would work well with were the expensive ones and in the end before it got blocked the door would always pop oven and never close properly anymore. I do not recommend this as a long lasting dishwasher.

I bought this dishwasher at least ten years ago (before 2015). It replaced a succession of two disastrous Fisher and Paykel dishwashers that both failed within a year or two. Dealing with Fisher and Paykel was a nightmare! Unfortunately my Dishlex failed a couple of months ago and I was prepared to buy a new one considering the excellent service… Read more
it gave me. Unfotunately Dishlex is no longer available. Balancing what Choice recommended and careful reading of Product Review it looked like there are no dishwashers that currently perform well, are reliable, and have a manufacturer that is willing to provide decent service. I faced spending the best part of $2000 and taking the risk of again dealing with a manufacturer who does not stand by their product. Then, by accident, I discovered a stainless steel Dishlex, almost identical to my old one, secondhand and FREE on Gumtree. I picked it up, the owner not knowing if it worked, connected it up, and two months later is working flawlessly!
I would never buy Dishlex dish washer again. Our dishwasher is not even 4 years old. The bottom rack has gone rusty. I rang customers service line about the rust. Was told it's out of warranty, To buy a new bottom rack would cost us $400.00. Everyone I have spoken to about the rust say "it's never happened to me" Originally when looking for a new… Read more
dishwasher, we were looking at a cheaper brand, however the salesman talked us into getting the Dishlex, wish now that we went with the cheapest brand. It's not good enough Dishlex.
Worst customer experience – Never worked from new but wouldn’t honor warranty because I couldn’t produce original invoice, what a bunch of losers no more if their products for me or anybody I know

Planned Obsolescence is a real thing, google it. Corporate Crime – As an appliance repairer, not affiliated with any of these Corporations. A dishwasher came in to us for repair, in beautiful as new condition. No pest damage, clean as a whistle, the cleanest dishwasher we have ever had come in from a customer, with a surge protector. 2016. The same fault has appeared as with many other Dishlex, ( now… Read more
discontinued ) by Electrolux, that have come in for repair, not working. Burned out component on the control module that burns through the back of the board also, making it not repairable. Electrolux have failed again when we email contacted them. This is Planned Obsolescence. This is a manufacture fault, not a warranty job. I was spoken to by an Indian lady who called before 9am, who wanted the purchase date. I wasn't ready for her ambush, the usual nonsense and she made me feel like an unwelcome. Wanted to sell me a new module, $267.00. I hanged up the phone. We are getting so tired of these attitudes when we are telling the truth. If it was pest damage, cockroach etc, I wouldn't even have contacted them. Very poor performance.
Terrible cheap and nasty – Terrible Terrible Dishwasher. it came with our new house package from Beechwood homes 4 yrs ago. nothing is ever cleaned properly. it clearly does not do the final rinse with clean water. when you pull out the top drawer mucky cloudy water runs out of the rotating arm. The dishes always smell and have a grubby residue that has to be hand rinsed off. Show details
It is truly an amazing dish washer – More than satisfied, I love, love this Dishlex dish washer. It is so efficient and a time saver. Controls easy to follow. After 5 years of constant usage, it has never clogged, I have never needed to pre rinse. Never had to use a dishwasher cleaner, it is spotless and like new after each a full wash cycle. Show details
Best Dishwasher We’ve Had – Dishlex DSF6106W (White) The push button settings are simple to use. It is fairly quiet as usually put it on at night. I’ve always rinsed the dishes first as all that yuck still goes down the drain. I use Fairy platinum tablets and Finish Rinse Aid. Dishes, Pots, Pans etc... are dry and shiny. Had other more expensive dishwashers like Bosch and this is far better and a lot cheaper. Show details

Simple, solid and great value. Probably the last Dishlex worth buying – After many years of hard service our previous Dishlex bit the bullet. Initially thought we’d head down the Bosch path as everyone raves about them but genuinely put off by the plastic bases in their lower/mid-tier units. Also, obscenely long cycles (something people often forget to check). Then we thought Westinghouse; another brand we have always… Read more
trusted but were dismayed to discover after a bit of internet digging that Electrolux don’t manufacture the Westinghouse dishwashers anymore. They are all made in Turkey by a company called Vestel which seemingly specialises in making lower end appliances for other companies to whack their logo on; pretty meh for a giant like Electrolux in my opinion.
We decided to stick with what we knew and go for another Dishlex; Electrolux still make them selling this model as Dishlex here and Zanussi in the UK (as they had done with our previous model). We went out to purchase and realised that this unit with excellent reviews has been replaced by a new Dishlex model; an incredibly flimsy feeling thing with rattly baskets, a plastic base and Made in China stamped on the side. A unit identical (except for colour and logo) to the Delonghi branded dishwasher that sat next to it on the shop floor. So, obviously Electrolux no longer manufacture the Dishlex units and are going down the cheap and nasty path with this brand too. We went across the road to the clearance centre and luckily found one of the old units (the model being reviewed) as a factory second/run-out and snapped it up for a song.
In a nutshell, the DSF6106W: reasonably solid, Euro built by Electrolux, simple, quiet, cleans just as well as the model it replaced (i.e. really well). The cycle times are reasonable (128 or so for the Eco as opposed to 3+ hours on the Bosch), the cycle options provide all you’ll ever need and, if it does break, parts should be easy to access. For the price we paid if it goes as long as our old Dishlex I’ll be a very happy camper. Gripes? The soft spikes for glasses are a welcome addition but stacking wine glasses with this model can still be a hassle. Also, the lack of a delay start option. I don’t know if we’d ever use delay start but it could be good to have. The handle on this unit seems far stronger than that on the unit it replaced (DX 103). The simplicity of a dial still ticks my box on a dishwasher with previous touch panel experiences suggesting that this will be the first thing to go; dials are durable.
If you can grab one of these units on run-out or can find a store that still has stock I’d genuinely recommend. It seems infinitely superior to the new model in every way. Sadly, it’ll probably be the last Dishlex we buy given the way the brand seems to be headed. Sometimes companies make the stupidest moves; in the long run Electrolux may save a few pennies with their change of platform but, longer term, they are just destroying what was always viewed as a reliable/reasonable/value focussed dishwasher brand. Time will tell as to how much landfill they create.
Have I got a 'lemon?' Not so, I discovered I haven't after all!!! – Below you will find my original review. It is only fair to update it after following up on a comment made by a wise woman a year ago! What she told me was that the more you use a dishwasher, the better they wear. Hard to believe, but it proved to be true. Somehow, as if by magic, my dishwasher came to life meaning the lights came on unexpectedly… Read more
when I thought all was lost. I jumped at the chance to check if the miracle was real and ...it was! Since then I have made sure I use it every 2-3 days which fulfills my needs and keeps it working well. The only program it appears to have difficulties with is the half-load, but I have decided not to tempt fate and simply be grateful for the gift. Now, a year later, it is still working well. If you, like me, thought it wise to use a dishwasher only occasionally my recommendation to you is...DON'T!!! I also wish they would include this in the manual!
My original review. After a whole lifetime spent without a dishwasher, three years ago I gave myself a cheer-me-up gift following the passing of my beloved partner of forty years: a complete kitchen renovation which included new appliances. The result was amazing! I love cooking and baking and just walking into this bright new space brought joy to my heart. The new dishwasher didn't get much use over the next couple of years, but I was grateful for its presence when family and friends came to dinner thus saving me a big clean up job. All was well until it suddenly stopped working...just after the 2 years warranty had expired. All up it had been used under 10 times! When I called Electrolux's customer department, they agreed that it had proven to be a poor result for my investment and agreed to have a service technician come to fix it. Two inside electrical panels were dutifully replaced at no cost and I my kitchen was complete again. I truly thought that was the end of the story. One more year passed and, once again, my dishwasher has ceased to work. Of course the 'right' time to discover this was when I had dinner guests and was left with a pile of dishes to do. The cumulative use over the three years has been under 20 times. I did call Electrolux once again and this time I didn't find them overly eager to assist. The guy I spoke to was very polite and suggested I call their service department to have a look at the machine because the parts replaced last time may (or may not) still be under warranty. Personally, and keeping in mind I know little or nothing about dishwashers, it seems to me the problem is different from the previous one, but...what would I know? By this time I am feeling a bit lukewarm about my dishwasher's overall performance and its ability to deliver what it promised to do: wash the dishes when I want them washed! What should to do now? Is my dishwasher a 'lemon?' Should I ask for a complete replacement with something that actually works every time I need it? I manage my very limited income judiciously and I cannot afford to waste it.

Affordable, serves its purpose, but not as good as the last one – This is my second Dishlex dishwasher. The previous one lasted about 12 years, and I was very happy with it. Unfortunately, the quality has dropped since then. You might wonder why I give it 4 stars in that case, but the reason is this: it's a useful little dishwasher that gets the job done, and it was cheap to buy. So, for the price, I'd probably… Read more
buy it again, in spite of the disappointments. These are the things that disappointed me: - the wire the drawers are made from is thinner and not as rigid - feels flimsy, and I'm not sure I'll get anywhere near 12 years this time. (see comparison pic) - the design of the lower drawer tends to force me to pack it in such a way that it wants to tip over backwards. The slots for large plates used to be acrossways, but now they are from back to front (angled backwards). So if you load a couple of large plates in the back (which is necessary - as the narrow slots make it impossible to pack from front to back) the drawer overbalances. - the lower drawer used to have prongs that folded down flat if you wanted to put a bunch of saucepans in there. I now really struggle to fit my saucepans in there along with dishes. I actually kept the old drawer in the hope that it might fit, but alas it didn't. (see pic of old drawer) - the design of the upper drawer is weird. I used to be able to fit lots of cups and mugs in the old one, and lots of saucers in the centre strip. Now, instead of a flat bottom right across the upper drawer, there is a kind of gutter each side. (see pic) The prongs are also a strange shape so that very few of my plates will actually stand up in them, and cups and mugs tip over if I try to fit more than just one row each side. - I'm glad I kept the old cutlery holder. It has partial flaps with holes down two edges that are handy for putting small spoons into and keeping spoons apart. The new one either has an extremely weird thing across the top that allows very little cutlery (and lots of my cutlery simply won't fit the holes) or you take that off and have nothing to hold small cutlery up. (see pic of old and new side by side) - they make a big deal of it holding 13 place settings, but what I find is that the slots for plates are now too narrow, and my plates tend to rub on each other during the cycle. So yes, there's a lot of things I don't really like about it compared to the previous one. (I waited a year to review it, to make sure it wasn't just because I hadn't worked out how to use the new design.) But for all this, I'd buy it again because it suits my budget and it does indeed wash dishes. I like the half-load option, where you just space things out more in both drawers (not just one drawer). The controls are easy to operate. I had to get it serviced recently (for free - still in warranty) because it wasn't draining - a hose problem - and I was incredibly impressed by the Dishlex service people. The woman I spoke to on the phone knew what I was talking about and was very friendly and polite, and the man who came out to fix it was lovely and very competent, as well as arriving on time. So that's another big tick for Dishlex - I'd buy their brand again when the service is so good.

Excellent Dishwasher – This dishwasher is excellent on water, cleans baking dishes, saucepans, makes glasses sparkle, good shelving design so you can pack it to the maximum, plenty of cycles to suit & it’s quiet Show details

Great value and does the job – Very happy with the purchase. Great value and does the job. Have been using it daily for a month now and have had no complaints. Can beat it for the price. If I had to nit-pick, it would be good if there was some indication to show when a wash has finished instead of just turning itself off. Show details
It fits my need perfectly – I need an entry level dishwasher for a short term use. This dishwasher does much more than what I expected. It washes much better then the more expensive machine it replaced. It is much quieter too. It doesn't dry the dishes in the top rack that well if I don't open the door fast enough after the washing cycle. However, there is no alarm to notify… Read more
me that the washing is finished.
There is one problem I have found so far. The material used to build door is a bit too thin/soft. When I opened the door from a wrong angle, the side of the door got stuck on the side of the dishwasher. I have to push it back in to make the door open smoothly again.

Very Average – Dishlex simply don't make good products. We bought a house with this already installed. It washes and dries reasonably well. However, the design of the stacking trays is so poor. Almost every other dishwasher we've ever used would stack at least 40% more and its inability to accommodate larger dinner plates is a bit of a joke in today's world. If… Read more
someone threw one at you and you needed it for a single person home it would be OK but hardly a product that has much design thought for families. And the build quality is average and its noisy. Like all Electrolux products, to be avoided if possible.
Poor quality – I noticed when I first got it that the hoses were much thinner and the quality in general was not what you’d expect from a well known manufacturer like dishlex. However it Worked fine until just after the warranty ran out (2.5 years ) then it started to leak and apparently it would have cost nearly $400 to fix! Show details
Wont last for more than 2-3 years! – Rubbish product!! We were forced to be content with this as it was provided as part of our house package. Lasted just over 2 years before breaking down, Contacted the agents (Electrolux) who claimed it was out of warranty and that we need to pay even for the call-out. Not worth the cost considering it is likely to fail again. Will throw this away… Read more
and buy a brand new, better quality product. Wont buy from Electrolux though, as their products will fail just after the warranty period!

Poorly written user and service manual – Had to replace discharge hose due to leak. Consulted the user/ online service manual. Absolutely no information as to how to do it. Only a useless diagram. Call out fee is expensive. And consumer forced to buy part from the company. Which could easily be bought cheaply from bunnings etc..
Poor quality of materials and wash – I have had this dishwasher for 5 months and am replacing it. I find the quality of the material, design and wash to be poor and frustrating. Show details
Stay away. Shonky product and no support – Dishwasher pump has failed in less than 12 months use, last few months was with a tenant and because of this Dishlex Electrolux will not repair under warranty. Apparently they consider tenants as second class citizens. They have asked for $150 just for a call out, even though it is less that 12months old. Definitely steer clear. There are others with reports of failed pumps Show details
Does not clean? – have checked the drains, sometimes water is hot other times not, sometimes dishes dry but usually not. use the same setting every time. Had plumber come out to fix the first week but he could not find fault with the installation or the mechanics of the unit itself. Just a unhelpful machine for washing dishes. Show details

Disappointed with product – I bought this dishwasher over 3 years ago. I had to have it repaired during the 2 year warranty period because it wouldn' t empty. Now when you turn it on the light comes on for a few seconds then goes out. It appears that it just loses power and can't operate. I believe the life of a dishwasher is about 10 years. with this product as I paid good money for it and it hasn't given me the service I am entitled to. I thought Dishlsx was a good name. Apparently not.
Inferior product – My dishwasher is approximately 3 years old and already the circuit has died 3 times. First time was in warranty, others not. They won’t cover it because it’s a different problem every time. I have had dishlex in the past and thought I was doing the right thing by sticking with them. Obviously quality control has disappeared, will never buy their product again. What a waste of money.
Not greaT. Dont buy it – Installed in rental less than 12 months ago. First week noticed rust at bottom of two prongs that within a week one had snapped second hanging on buy the plastic coating. awkward. We have just noticed crack in top front edge frame. And a chip on the corner of plastic cover near controls. AND noticed after wiping dust on top its bubbled the edging. Not even water tight! WE ARE GENTLE ON OUR STUFF. have had dishwashers last for years never seen such poor quality. Dishwashers are meant to be robust, not delicate. It seems they dont make them like they use to. If I had power I would demand company exchange it!
Electrical board burnt 2nd time – Two days ago I noticed an electrical smell and the sump pump running continuously. I turned the dial to off, but it kept running. Pulled the power and let set overnight, pump came back on when plugged in. This happened 4 years ago, luckily it was still under warranty and I wasn't charged . a call out fee would be $145. I'm very disappointed this has happened a 2nd time. It seems to be a common fault with this machine going by other reviews. Can you advise any other trouble shooting ideas? I do not want to pay a large amount of money for repairs when It could happen again. Any advice?
Dont Waste Your Money – I recently purchased a brand new Dishlex dishwasher. I live 500kms away from the nearest supplier. I picked up the dishwasher and returned home where I installed it. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever had! – Not sure why there is any positive reviews here. No space at all - Dishwasher is small and you can’t fit any quality wine glasses, cutlery or plates properly. Does not matter to me if it washes well as so inefficient.
