Great – Heater issue at about 10 years of age. U tube Dr Google fix. Has served our family very well and can hardly fault it. Still going strong after 19 years! Show details
Ok, a few faults but soldiering on after 12 years – Bought a DX302WB*01 sometime around 2002; still going up till today. Has had a couple of repairs over the years, first of which was the handle giving way, and at about the 10 year mark I had to repair (resolder) the heater element relay PCB connection (seems a common fault). Today the seals failed, but spares seem readily available and the job is simple enough so won't complain. Simple, repairable Couple of silly faults (e.g. poor soldering)
Disappointing failure of heater – Bought this Dishlex DX302WJ from The Good Guys in 2007 to replace a Dishlex I owned for 12 years which had no problems. I was expecting a similar performance from this machine. The machine worked well enough up until the heater failed. I have talked to the local service agent who estimates a realistic repair cost to be about $300. The problem with… Read more
heater failure would appear to be common with this model after looking at other reviews and websites. I am reluctant to spent the money on what seems to be an endemic problem even though the machine still looks brand new and has had only light usage. Based on this experience Dishlex will not be a consideration for the replacement dishwasher. Simple to operate. Clean uncluterred appearance. The heater has failed.

Great Service-No Repairs – We purchased this dishwasher in mid 2007. It worked perfectly till we left the house in early 2010. In mid 2009, we were getting the kitchen fixed up a little when a second plumber revealed that the drain was not installed correctly by another plumber (not correct way to loop hose...) Never had caused any trouble. We hope that the new owners of… Read more
the house enjoy the dishwasher, which washed everything perfectly with Finish Tablets on every cycle (except rinse, of course)!
Maybe we got one of the good units Washed everything well, had econo option, could use tablets in Eco cycles and still worked well A little noisy, plumber didn't install drain hose correctly
Good – I think the washer is pretty good except for this inherent heater problem which we were able to repair ourselves, thanks to other reviewers on this site. Good size for a family of four. Reasonably quiet, and fits nicely into recess under kitchen bench. Been going well for about 2.5 years. Heater stopped working leaving the dishes unclean and very… Read more
wet. I read other users comments and realised what the problem was. I disassembled the main wiring plugs from the control board and removed the board. One of the solder joints on the back of the board was very black and dirty. There didn't seem to be any solder on this pin from the back of the black relay box. The other four pins looked ok. I re-soldered the faulty joint and to my joy it worked and the heater works fine. Thank you to the other people who reviewed this product.
Good – Overall happy with unit. 30 minute wash cycle works a lot better than expected on lightly soiled items. Filters must work well as its very rare to need to clean blocked spray arms. Bought it with three year extended warranty and would probably buy Dishlex again. Nice styling. Over two and a half years old and still working reliably 30 min wash… Read more
cycle
19 hr delay timer
Digital readout on time to wash completion Front crockery rack rusting (but least that's easily replaced). ECO wash is useless.
Powder gets left in dispenser sometimes but this is usually because large plates are put directly in front of it.
Bit noisy at times when filling and emptying (like a loud vibration in it somewhere). Quiet the rest of cycle.
Negative reviews
Think thrice before buying one – After owning a "old" dishlex for over 25 years which was used daily without missing a beat, we decided to get another modern dishlex when we updated the kitchen. Well, buying on "old" reputation is now unfounded. In the first 6 months needed new arm bearings. Same again at 12 months. At 2 years a completely new electrical control panel, and pump… Read more
issues at 4 years. On top of this, compared to the old one, it has overall worse dishwashing ability with pots/pans even plates often incompletely washed. The dispenser often has incomplete powder usage, and the rack design is woeful, we can only fit in 1/2-2/3 the dishes as the old one. Furthermore the cutlery rack is poorly designed, knives stick thru and catch on the lower washer arm. The only saving grace was that we took out an extended warranty which we have used 4 times. Would certainly not by this brand ever again. Perhaps the quiet operation. The extended warranty service was good- just as well, cause you will need it. V poor durability, poor washing ability, poor rack design

Dont buy a dishlex – are you aware that electrolux only guarantee their dishwashers electrics for two, yes two, weeks. true, after that they exect you to be happy with a repair. also, the configuration of the cup holders means that cups and mugs slide all over the place, what a disaster and a disappointment. $800 down the drain and I'll be getting rid of it as soon as I'm able. Nothing much expensive mistake doesn't hold mugs, electrics only last a month
Terrible – If someone said to me what type of dishwasher to buy. I would tell them to stay clear of the dishlex especailly the DX302 as we have only had it for about 3 years now and it has been more troube than it is worth. We have had to take it out twice to fix the first time it was the connection to the heater. The second it was the relay for the heater… Read more
which is soldered to the circut board. After solding the relay on the circut board the dishwasher works fine again. (no need replace the circut board) Just saves washing up It is useless at cleaning the dishes and saucepans.

Bad – We will never buy another one! I don't use the eco on it because it doesn't get the items clean. The front panel - plain and simply Doesn't clean items in the top & bottom back corners. The heater went within the first 12 months, the technician made adjustments to the timing to help it clean better (so much for the economy rating!!!!). The power… Read more
switch burnt out after the warranty had expired. We were posted a $4 part, which my husband put installed.
Terrible – hopless, useless, waste of $800 . does not clean, leaves white fatty deposites on items, especially cutlery, wont even wash butter off a knife. have had electronic panel replaced because repair guy thought it wasnt heating properly, it still does not clean. worst dishwasher i have ever had, and it is my 4th one. i have taken photos, as the store… Read more
will not replace it, it is brand new. am in process of taking further action with manufacturer looks like a neat and tidy machine does not clean properly
OK – Electrolux should have increased the 2 years warranty to 3, if they have not tested the unit out before releasing into the market. There are obvious known faults that happened just after the warranty expires, leaving a bunch of frustrated customers. However I contacted Elextrolux, they are happy to repair this for us for free, so if anyone out… Read more
there with the same problem, please do try give Elextrolux ring, they will assist you even after the warranty has already expired. good luck Quiet, large load, good product service Prone to faults after 2 years of use, first the power button failed, followed by water element controller was burnt out, leaving dishes uncleaned and wet. I really do hope there is no more problems with this unit.
Terrible – Don't waste your money with any Electrolux / Dishlex product. We will never buy another one ever again!!! Very poor customer service when it comes to any problems or faults. Was reasonably good when it did work, although not as thorough when cleaning cutlery at times. Just like a lot of other people, stopped working properly at around the 2.5 year… Read more
mark. Called the 1300 number, and after 15 mins eventually got through to someone who just put me on hold and transferred me to a service centre. Ended up having to hangup as they didn't seem to be im a hurry to take the call. Left an e-mail to follow-up, which they eventually responded to. It was particularly unhelpful, as the person had no advice at all other than to call a technician at my expense.

Terrible – A real lemon. After having a good run with Dishlex over twenty years we decided to go again with the new model..big mistake. This one should never have been released to market. Poorly deisgned trays mean that it cannot wash nearly as many dishes. The detergent dipenser cannot open properly with the tray in the lower position, which is the only… Read more
practical position. Guide rails etc foul normal size plates. We alway have to re-wash some dishes - usually the ones at the front. Usually doesnt dry properly. Worst of all it has totally failed, just outsde the warranty period. Dishlex - never again. Was reasonably priced, relatively low water and energy usage, covered heating element. Poorly designed and unreliable
Terrible – This product is useless. I couldn't believe it when Electolux told me that other customers are happy to be advised to clean the filter after every use - yes, every use! It has now started to leak badly and like other reviewers I am delighted that we can justify throwing it in the tip and getting a decent brand - which will NOT be a brand owned by… Read more
Electrolux. It's quiet. It does not wash dishes! It puts food particles into glasses and cups then dries it so they come out dirtier than they went in, crusted with dried food. Half the time the soap powder doesn't come out of the dispenser and the whole load comes out dirty. Our complaints to Electrolux elicited no help, only intimations that we must be dirty people - even though we are using it in exactly the same way we used our previous Dishlex.
Terrible – Don't buy this machine....I presumed it was similar to the Vulcan but it isnt. The manufacturers should listen to the consumers who find fault with it yet have been satisfied with other brands. Looks like it might work!!!! I hate this dishwasher. Even when you rinse your dishes they come out covered in grit although the filter is not clogged or… Read more
dirty. Need to clean sprinklers with a pipe cleaner constantly. Ruined my bone china which is dishwasher safe. glasses come out gritty and dull. Stained my cutlery. It is not the same as a Vulcan Dishlex..
Terrible – Yes it has hit the magical 2.2 yrs of age and now has a fault "60" whatever that means. Beeping in the middle of the night woke me up. Went to check it out - the dishwasher was too hot to touch and completely dry - no water. Worriedx about it catching on fire now. Could not get through to electrolux. Fault "60" is not in the instruction book or… Read more
can't find it on the net. Should have bought a Meile - only went for this because of the eco wash - which we can't use anyway. Should be recalled. Disgusting value - cost near $800! Reasonably quiet. Looks attractive. Well - where to begin. It has never been able to handle powder - leaves half of it in the holder. Eco wash doesn't wash well or dry at all. Food and little bits of plastic(no idea how/where from??) get stuck in the arms and I have to tweezer it out so the water will run through. Often won't clean properly unless on the intense wash.
Terrible – If I was buying a dishwasher I would certainly NOT get a dishlex.Buy a dishwasher with a Great Rating *****.I should have done my homework first! Hence 1 dishlex dishwasher gone to the recycler It worked ok when I first bought it then it half-pied cleaned the dishes and didn't dry them properly
Terrible – DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE! I danced for joy when it finally broke - as it meant I had a reason to buy a new one! I'll be buying a Bosch next time! it was quiet - thats about it! EVERYTHING - I hated it from the first time I turned it on, useless at washing anything, can't use powder as it just doesn't dissolve so have to buy liquid which is… Read more
expensive and you still need to completely fill the dispenser or even that doesn't work. Only washes 70% of wash on the longest & hottest cycle. Cutlery falls through the basket. Glasses come out dirtier than when they went in with "gunk" stuck in bottom. Large plates don't fit well. Often doesn't dry properly. Everything has to be positioned at least an inch apart to allow water any chance of cleaning. When it broke down it shorted all the power in the house. Suffered it for 4 years - happiest day when it died!
Excellent – Excellent machine and only have praise. Filter easy to clean.I look after my machine and I think that is the difference between a machine running well and not. Very good machine - no problems at all. After 5.1/2 years still as good as the day I got it - no rust. Just a solid machine. No problems Show reply
Bad – Was reasonably happy with my purchase for the first 2 years, then suddenly stopped heating water and drying dishes. They all came out wet and dirty. Luckily I discovered this website, and everyones reviews. Seems like this model has a common heating problem with a solder joint. I refused to pay the $300+ Electrolux would have asked to repair… Read more
this dishwasher. Rang my local dishwasher repair centre, and was told that they had fixed about 6 other washers with the same problem. They explained to me how to get the control panel out - quite easy for a novice!! Took the box down, they resoldered the problem joint in 10 minutes. Took it home (very sceptical) put it back together and works perfectly!! Cost me $40!! I am so thankful that I discovered this website, and everyones reviews were so helpful! If you have this problem with your washer, be sure that you try this first! I have no electronics background, but am thrilled that I could save myself so much money by doing a bit of research! Reasonably priced, nice looking unit, delay timer Leaves dishes wet unless you use the intense wash. Often have to rewash dishes. Heater problem (like many others) after 2.5 years of use.
Terrible – if i'd known i was paying $800+ to buy a machine that either a) doesn't work or b) washes dishes in cold water, i wldn't have bothered. Am sick of uninstalling this machine, loading it into the car and delivering it back to the retailer..... will be asking for refund this time around. Can't say much that's good about this one - have now had 2… Read more
versions of the same model (in the space of 2 days) and as both have been faulty, haven't been able to use it properly yet. First one we got home konked out after the first rinse cycle we put it through (we cldn't even turn it on - seemed like it had no power). Got the second version home a day later (having had to uninstall the first one and deliver it back to shop), and this one seems to have a faulty heater - doesn't heat water even slightly, and as for the 'fan drying' feature - due to lack of heat, it's totally non-existent.... and the machine does tend to tip forward if you pull both drawers out at the same time when they're full....

Bad – We purchased this dishwasher partly because of the eco wash but have learnt that it needs to be on the 65 deg. regular setting to be effective, probaly because the detergent doesn't dissolve. worked good for the first 12 months Detergent never completely dissolves as compartment door no longer opens. Then water did not heat, so after reading review, re-soldered the blackened terminal on the control panel and fixed the problem.
OK – It came as a freeby fom the builder, but I would have bought the next model up anyway because we had two dishlex models before although they were made by Vulcan, The first one lasted ten years before the front panel fell apart. Our machine has worked well for the past 2.5 years, had to get a new cutlery basket which was supplied at No cost to us,… Read more
so we were happy with the warranty. After about 2.5 years it stopped heating the water and was leaving greasy marks on the cutlery and some pyrex dishes. After reading a previous review I investigated the fault and found that the same had happened, A solder joint for the relay on the control board had a dry joint, the solder had disappeared, so I got my soldering iron out and repaired it, it tested fine and it’s back to cleaning the dishes once again.
Bad – Very hard to fix when starts acting up.To easy for repairman to make $$$$$. Older it get's the noisier it gets. WOULDN'T RECOMEND. Looks good works well for the first 2 years. It decides when it's going to heat or it's NOT. Cost $300+ on repairman (easiest he's ever made). So it's time to say bye. shame because Dishlex's did have a good reputation
Bad – Customer Service is non existent, emails don't get answered, phone calls are useless. Our power switch burned out so we had to bypass it and switch on/off at the power point until we could find a replacement switch, no help from the manufacturer, it's a BAD design on the electronics, don't throw it away if it fails, just get a friendly guy with a… Read more
bit of electronics understanding who'll find the pathetic design flaws pretty quick (look through these forums for exactly which ones). I like the machine but it should have been designed better AND pathetic after sales service means I'll never get anything from this manufacturer again, greed is everything these days, sell sell sell and screw aftermarket querries. It's quiet. It does it's job when it hasn't broken after a year or two BAD electronic components will wear out the on/off switch and the heating element and don't expect the manufacturer to reply to emails or querries.
Bad – good whilst it lasted. could it be a design fault...with so many reporting the same fault, stops heating. 2 years ago I would have recommended it to everyone and did.I expected better and longer fault free service, never mind, now to invest more money to see if fault is the control panel or element and then contact the company easy to use, looks good installed. out of warranty, stopped heating.
Bad – Knowing that this dishwasher has an inherent fault I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I have contacted Electrolux and advised them of my disappointment. I wouldn't recommend any Electrolux product to people because they obviously know there is a problem and are still selling it. People who have purchased them should contact Electrolux before… Read more
the 2 year warranty expires and quote the problem and insist it gets fixed in the warrant period. This dishwasher was a great investment at the time as it took my focus away from dishes and towards my family. It seemed like a good buy at the time. Obviously only 2.5 years out of a product for the cost of $750 isn't what I call economical. Luckily with the help of this forum I was able to get my machine fixed for free. Hopefully it will last a long time now.
Terrible – I wrote a report about my experience with this machine last April. Well the thing has died again. Upon ringing Electrolux to see about servicing i found the price of the visit has shot up to something like $115 for the first 15 minutes then a charge every 30 minutes after that. So i did my sums and promptly ripped the piece of garbage out. I went… Read more
to a store and bought another brand of dishwasher. This one is stainless steel throughout including the wash arms. The sliding shelves are a dream to operate and the wash is exceptional. After having this Electrolux/Dishlex hybrid failure, serviced 4 times in 2 years, i decided to cut my losses and leave the dishlex camp forever. Its a shame because Dishlex used to have a good reputation and i fought my wife on this purchase who wanted a Fisher Paykel Drawer model. Maybe she should have won. Looks good Plastic wash arms, poor reliability, expensive service calls, perceived company arrogance due to having a past reputation for quality goods.
Good – very happy, this is second dishlex they getting better!! very happy with this dishwasher, load always clean, no spotting. Well design trays fit large load
Good – Very good, well worth the money. Pretty much everything. Nice quiet unit. No probs with pooling or spotting if correct setting chosen and stacked correctly. Has nifty lug holes in side to screw into cabinet space to stop it overbalancing. Top dishwasher arm occasionally comes into contact with items that hang down from top basket, but if stacked correctly that shouldn't happen.
Excellent – The best thing is the quick cycle, the results are great, I don't feel guilty now running the machine when it is not completely full, likewise the low usage of water, (see the Choice review for more great facts). The 30 minute cycle is fantastic, less water use , less energy, a win, win all round. Adjusting the top basket height couldn't be… Read more
easier. I have
used dishwashers for about 28 years and this is the best so far.I do not rinse first and all but the baked on food comes off using the 30 min cycle!
I am thrilled with this product I HAVE NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR THIS MODEL AND WOULD BUY THE SAME ITEM AGAIN!
Bad – I think the cleaning ability of the machine is very good. However after my experience, I think that the reliability of the machine is something to worry about. I found tha from the time I first reported the problem to Dishlex to the time a replacement dishwasher arrived was far too long. I also found that the staff did not take me weriously and… Read more
thought it was rather funny that the machine was not working after such extensive repairs. The first technician that came to my door was just a joke - to think he could try and diagnoee the machine when the problem was he didn't know how to diable the child lock and was too pig headed to let me do it for him!! The front panel. I think the cleaning ability of the washer is great. I don't think it is as quiet as what the manufacturer claims. I am on my second dishwasher - the first one lasted less than 12 months. When it stopped working it was still under warranty. I found the service dept very difficult to deal with. They were not in a hurry to come and fix the machine and when someone fianlly came would you believe he didn't even bring any standard spare parts!!! He waltzed into my kitchen pressed a few buttons and claimed the processor had blown - he made the diagnosis in an amazing 2 minutes and didn't even use a tool. He had to order a processor in. A week later he was supposed to come back and fit the processor, but he called in sick. Dishlex wanted to put the repairs off until the following week. I explained that this was simply not good enough and amazingly a repairman was able to come out the same day - this time he had a proper truck with spare parts on board. While creating a hell of a mess, he replaced the processor and left. He was not 10 minutes down the road and I was riging back again - the dishwasher had stopped working. He came back the next day and this time replaced the pump. An hour later I was on the phone to customer service again - the dishwasher had stopped working. A week later they were back to replace the motor - and amazingly the dishwasher still did not work. They were at a loss as to why it still wasn't working so I was given a replacement one - a week later.
Good – worked well. until the heating problem. which turned out to be an easy fix. I actually have the 403 model which also has a light inside, which i find very usefull. there is a common fault with all the 302 and 403 models after about 2.5 to 3 years with the heating. A solder joint on a relay in the controller (behind the buttons) goes dry jointed… Read more
and also burns the PCB track a bit. if you know anyone electrical minded, just need to solder a wire onto the relay pin to reconnect it to the board, and check the relay is working ok. ie hasn't caused the heating to be stuck on. I believe this also fixed the fan.
Good – Great product, easy to install. AAA water rating, Quiet, very easy to use, all dishes are clean. Nothing, could not find any faults.
