Dodge Nitro (2007-2011)

Awesome for the price! – Awesome vehicle. It’s pretty cheap on fuel, all things considered. Around home (major city) it gets about 14.5L/100km generally. Gets down to about 10L/100km on long highway drives. It goes OK off-road but I wouldn’t push it too hard. I certainly wouldn’t try getting it vertical or taking it up hard-core 4x4 tracks, but it goes ok to find a decent… Read more
camping spot or park off-road at sporting events etc. I have 2 kids and they fit very comfortably in the back, with or without car seats. Could easily fit a third or an adult in with them. 3 adults might be a bit tight but that’s about all. Plenty of leg room in all the seats. If you’re after a 4x4 that drives and feels like a car this one isn’t the one for you - it’s rough and a bit bouncy like you’d expect a 4x4 to be, but it’s not uncomfortable by any standard. Very happy with mine. 170,000km and it’s still driving like a new car.
My nitro not worth any stars – You are all very lucky it appears that i caught the lemon. Been in and out of the workshop for the past year and still have plenty of issues. Currently 114,000 ks on the clock. Great car when it runs fuel efficient and easy to drive and park i love the look of it but deep down its doing my head in. Breaks failed, heater stopped, ABS and ESP… Read more
traction light kept popping up - got it cleared at the workshop drove out and kept happening. Went into limpf mode a hand full of times, driving at 110ks on the motorway the motor cut out. Its shakes when it starts, can hear a dripping noise, drive 9,000 and no issues and they are all back now. Currently waiting on JEEP to come back with an answer as my dealership have no answers and they are sick of seeing me and seeing my car. I cannot wait to get rid of it. Had my FIL's for a little while. Just as bad, alarm goes off when it wants too and blew out a hell of alot of blue smoke. Was able to get rid of that one. I'm completely stuck on this car - biggest regret and not cost efficient either. I drive well and take car of my car but it hates me...
Awesome car – heaps of room and big i own a 2008 Dodge Nitro SXT running cost not bad, its a big car but handing and performance is awesome. its a strong car people say lot of plastics don't have any issue with the car never missed a beat. good for long drives with great pulling power Show details
Go the diesel – I've got a sxt diesel great pulling power, heaps of torque, I was looking at a rav 4 or Nissan but I love the look of the nitro. Not much looks like the nitro and not very mainstream which is what I like. 136000klms average about 10.5 liters per 100k. Hasn't missed a beat. I drove the v6 petrol for 2 days but it really has nothing in the diesel… Read more
especially since I was averaging over 17liters per 100klms
A lot of reviewers complain about handling poor plastics but to be honest the average person would be none the wiser.
The only worry is parts and panels but with comprehensive insurance it's not my problem.
Love my Dodge Nitro – I own a SX-R 4x 4 2009 Dodge Nitro. Being a female, i've always owned "little" cars, so this is my first "big" car, lol, and i just love it. It didn't have the high price tag like some other so-called "prestige" cars, has a full leather interior, very powerful acceleration, and great handling. It does attract a fair bit of attention though. I am… Read more · 1
not a snob/ poser, but hey it's nice when people walk up to me at shops/ servo and tell me how much they like the looks of it. I have never ever had any problems with the car, and hope it stays that way too. But, then again, i am a good careful driver and keep the car regularly serviced. Price, comfort, leather seats, space, looks, handling, and the acceleration.
Nitro 2008 SXT 4x4 – This SUV is really a hot ticket for the low price range, i`m not kidding...my bro works for a Dodge dealer so I had the chance to test drive these models my way and took the word of real Dodge grease monkeys not pay as you go owners, I thought it was a piece of [inappropriate language removed] untill I tested these models, the 2008,2009,2010 2011… Read more
R/T All has an awsome eye catching design, plenty of room space but not so much head space though! its a tight fit so! after all the testing burning out the tires? I wish :) i purchased the 2008 4x4 SXT model i`m pleased with it,got it at a great discount with life timelabour warranty umh! (thanks to my Bro)... the 16inch rims and balloon tires is a way to go if you live on country side i`m not too fond of the 20inch,the 20inch is for show only not usefull, IMO! 3.7L is a great motor could be faster but hey! when you buy a Nitro your not buying speed! your buying Dodge Ram Power, the 4x4 is awsome and trusting ....Im glad I bought this Nitro lets hope its not R.I.P too soon. Keep in mind this is my experience towards winter time in Canada. the R/T is an over rated word for "All" Nitro model,4.0L has almost the same power as the 3.7L not much difference in power, the 20inch wheel`s was a turn off for me when I tested the 2011in winter time "No Traction" too much rim for nothing. The heating system is awful takes too long to warm up,the wiper setup really sucks.
It could be better – It's great car ,really, but it can be greater if it doesn't have that showoff bumper things, and some fix at the front of that car really can boost the selling,my advice is use sharp shapped head lamps like range rover Evoqe and don't use that grill, and please decide if dodge want a good offroader please give me a favor , give it more ground… Read more
clearance,if not(it just gonna be a show-off cars) ok thanks. It's basicly good on design The grill and the headlamps
Fantastic ! – Sounds Silly , but only had this car for two Days , but what a Car ! I completed alot of research before purchasing , I took the word of Nitro Owners , approaching them in Carparks or where ever to find out from actual owners what this Car is really like instead of reading Motor Magazine Reports by Journalists that would rather be test driving a… Read more · 1
Porsche . With all good reports from owners , I quickly learnt that the Nitro has been under rated as a great Car to Drive , Look at and of Course Own . I'm thrilled I Purchased one before the Last Shipment arrives in March 2012 ....I hope Dodge has a replacement up their sleeves for when and if I ever part with this one . Value for Money , Smooth Ride , Sits on the Road Well , Has Plenty of up and go ( acceleration ) , Great Looking , Comfortable and Feels Safe ! Car attracts too much attention?
love my dodge – we have had our dodge for just over a year now and havent had any problems with it, drives really well, lots of room, big boot. looks good and gets lots of compliments. feel really safe in it. its big but not too BIG, i like how easy it is too drive, doesnt cost too much to fill up, it has reversing sensors. the only thing is that the fabric… Read more
seats are black with grey inserts and they mark really easy, think im going to have to have them steam cleaned to get the marks off.
