Dune Sturt 4V tent

Beware of the Seabreeze – The good: Standard dome setup Height Very good ventilation Easy pack away The bad & the ugly: W I N D. Moderate to strong winds and the tent just does not perform. The back end typically caves in and the "super strong" poles actually bent day 1. Fatigue in the poles is the clincher and series of aftermarket guy ropes and careful chosen protected tent site locations just made it through a week of camping. Disappointed that full length guy ropes are not supplied.
Started well – Perfect size and easy to put up, one person can actually do it alone. However, one episode of strong wind - well below the tested wind speeds though - and the back end of the tent fell in. Ever since then the tent has buckled every time there has been any moderate strength wind. The Velcro tabs that hook the fly sheet to the frame have torn off in several places too. I’d say we’ve had a total of 25-35 nights in the tent and I don’t rate it’s construction quality very highly. I wouldn’t buy another one and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone either.
Fantastic quality and build for the money – We are always reluctant to buy Anaconda brands and indeed Anaconda are usually overpriced but the Dune Sturt II is incredible quality and build for the money (when the Dune is on special). This tent matches and surpasses the quality of much more expensive tents like the Blackwolf. We have owned the Dune Sturt II for three years and got it on the usual special for $259. It has the largest sleeping area of similar tents, much better build and fittings. Has never leaked, stands up to winds and well ventilated. Set up is easy (one person job) and pack up is just as easy. We were so impressed we gave this to our daughter and bought the EV version recently for the extra room. We got that version for 25% of retail as it was on clearance. Whilst other people buy the well known brands like Blackwolf and Oztrail, we bought these tents for much much less and they are actually better tents in every way. Highly underrated but that is great for us as we get them at clearance prices. Two year warranty is good. We had one guy rope fail and Anaconda replaced it on the spot without question.
Many years later and the tent is still as new. Did one repair to a torn fly net and waterproofed a stitch line. We do have pinholes in the floor in places but we always have a mesh mat underneath the tent and then a waterproof campmat inside so no issue. Have never had water in the tent from rain or groundwater.
Six years later and still as new.
Perfect tent! Easy enough for a solo person to install – I purchased this tent from Anaconda about 6 months ago after deciding to go on a camping trip and realizing the waterproofing on my 20 year old tent was all but shot. I was wanting a tent which was easy enough to install but had an extra shaded area which my dog could spend time in during the heat of the day. As a single female traveler, I also wanted a tent I could easily put up on my own! After a lot of research (and a sale at Anaconda), I settled on this tent! I’m so in love with the tent! Not only is it easy enough to be put up by one person, the quality and thought going into the design is superb as well. I love that the tent has lots of little inbuilt storage Pockets and a number of entrances which can be opened and closed to capture air flows. My puppy also had a great little location to rest within the shade throughout the day along with the esky and food supplies! This definitely is the best tent I’ve owned!
Best Tent Ever! – We bought this tent from Anaconda nearly one and a half years ago after exhaustively researching all other similar styles. We've used it regularly from a 1 night stay to 1 week stays. It is so easy to put up and down, takes us about 5-10 minutes depending on site. It's gone through so many weather extremes from boiling hot to torrential rain and blasting winds without failing once. I'm writing this review now as we've just come back from 3 days in the Turon with continual wind and torrential rain. Our Sturt 4V tent didn't let one drop in, with all openings closed it was warm and cozy with the front awning area protecting our esky, food and kitchen supplies. I've never been so grateful to a tent. During very hot weather, the sides have a bottom flap which can be pegged out as can the Windows. With both doors open with their fly screens zipped plus the large screen openings in the side of the inner skin, air flow is brilliant. The fly/outer skin is thicker material than expected and the aluminum poles more robust than appearances would allow. We've camped all our lives and this is the best tent I've ever owned. Long may it live.

Went through our sixth severe storm in this tent. Faultless. No leaks, no breakages. No collapse
