Not good tyres... can't wait to get rid of them! – Bought a VW second hand and unfortunately the previous owner put these horrible tyres on it instead of replacing the continental tyres with the same brand. I have found that the dunlops are the noisiest tyres that I have had on a car in a long time. (Had this experience with another car which also had dunlops) All my previous European cars have… Read more

had continentals tyres and I have to admit they are the quietest and comfortable tyres I have had.. can't wait to buy new continental tyres and enjoy driving again!

Have used them on 2 different cars - excellent tyre! – I am on my third set of SP3000As - 2 sets on a Fairmont wagon with TIckford running gear, and now a Ford Probe GT. I have found these tyres stick like glue and handle well in the wet and dry. I have got excellent mileage from them, and they have totally transformed the Probe from the **** Korean tyres that were on it when I bought it.  Show details

I agree absolute rubbish – I like a lot of others bought a Falcon XR6 ute 2014 model and it drove well for 15000kls but after that it has been all down hill.I do not drive my ute hard at all and have no problems in the wet as a conservative driver. I thought it was the tyres Dunlop SP Sport 3000 but returned the car to my local Ford dealer to be sure. They told me before… Read more

I got in the car that they had had a lot of problems with the inside of the tyre wearing and it now sounds like a off road tyre. I have now done 20000 kls and the centre of the tyres are still very good but the inside of these tyres are well worn and noisy as.The Ford dealer had no solutions as basically they are a crap tyre.

will not get me buying another Dunlop and I will give Dunlop both barrels on email to tell them so.

Dont waste you money – I had these tyres fitted to my VS V8 Commodore on recommendation from Beaurepaires. They were just ok for the first 15000km, then tram tracked at low speed until they were completely shot at 30000km, absolute rubbish. (I got 80000km out of the original Kellys). Getting Bridgestone Potenza re002 next week......fingers crossed.

down right dangerous – Drove my 96 EF Fairmont to the tyre shop with 4 x stuffed falken's, fitted the dunlops and instantly regretted it. changing lanes on the freeway felt like I was driving with flat tyre's and the vehicle sways dangerously. The entire cars suspension is brand new and wheel alignment is correct. it felt safe at high speed with the worn out falkens.… Read more

The Dunlop will be removed next week and falkens fitted. not willing to drive the car until they are replaced. they ARE that bad.

Absolute rubbish – Very poor tyre ,came on my brand new fg xr8 ute and have been noisy since day 1 and have virtually no grip at all in the wet, not to mention the inner sidewalls splitting open on all four tyres, tread still has plenty of depth left ,yet now i have to buy 4 new tyres ,because of the splits they are a death trap. Reading online its an obvious fault… Read more

with these tyres yet no one is interested in fixing the issue. I dont do a lot of KLM's in my car and only noticed the splits when looking at something else under the car, one tyre has part of the steel belt poking out on the inside, very safe.

Check online this is a common problem with theses tyres, avoid like the plague absolute rubbish.

Holds to the road nicely! – People should be aware that these are a mid range sports Tyre and shouldn't be assumed they will handle like an F1 Tyre if that's what you're after then you are going to pay big$ anyway these tyres are decent for the money they handle well when you push them around a corner at a fair speed they are a soft compound so shelf life will be about… Read more

20,000 km's for anyone that understands that soft will stick better than hard you have to expect excess wear when pushed hard especially so buy these tyres if you are budgeting and want something reasonable to drive with. Good handling. Bit noisy.

Dunlop SP Sport 3000A Second Set Review – I know I originally praised these tyres and had no hesitation in fitting a second set when the initial set wore out on my XR6. However the second set wore out at just over 30000km and this was around 70% of the original tyres life. There has been no change to my driving style so I can only assume there is a different quality compound used in the… Read more

newer tyres. The road handling or braking ability also noticeably deteriorated faster than the original set. Needless to say I was very disappointing and have to withdraw my glowing remarks made two years ago. I have now gone to Pirellis on the advice of the local Bob Jane T Mart. They have only been on the car for 800km so too early to comment except to say road handling and braking in dry or wet is excellent. I hope these wear better than the the more expensive Dunlops. Will update in due course.

Very short life and reduced road handling ability

S%#THOUSE! – Easily the worse tyres I have ever had. After ~15000km they started making a bit of noise, now closer to 30000km, I'm contemplating driving with earmuffs the noise is so loud. The only reason I haven't replaced them yet is because I only drive 10km a day to work and back . Can not wait to replace them before the next road trip. Better than driving without tyres Everything

Dunlop do it again – These tyres came on my BF XR8. Problem is, my other Falcon has Michelin PS3's on it. Difference between the two? Michelin are quieter and smoother, where the Dunlops feel rough and loud. The PS3's grip is very assuring. You feel safe pushing the PS3's into a corner fast. The Dunlop's however, oh my. I'm just waiting to slid off the road and into a… Read more

tree.

In the wet? I have been unable to fault the PS3's, honestly, so good. Dunlop's = death to driver.

Considering you can easily buy the Michelin's for less money than the Dunlop's, you are insane to buy the SP SPORT 3000A. Avoid at all cost, especially as they charge a fortune for them. Shame on you Dunlop/Goodyear.

They are no more than 20% warn, but soon as I have a spare $1100, I'm putting PS3's on. They haven't killed me just yet. Price, value, safety, preformance, noise, railroading......So many better options to choose from.

Great Tyres – Purchased two sets of these in 245/40 18 and 235/45 17 and these tyres handle well in all conditions including the wet. I have pushed our FG XR6 to its limits around bends and it was like being on rails. I would recommend these tyres to anyone who wants a good all round high performance tyre Grip, use in wet weather, cornering etc

The worst Tyres I have owned – I cant understand how anyone could give these tyres a positive, they are downright dangerous, appalling in the wet, In the dry It's like driving along railroad tracks, many many splits in the walls with all four tyres, I won't touch dunlop ever again, they should have recalled these tyres. Absolute rubbish.

Made a top handling car feel like a shopping trolley – I have had these tyres on for around 10,000km on an All Wheel Drive Liberty. The road noise is acceptable but the car grabs onto any deviation in the road and virtually steers itself. The Grip in the wet is terrible and the fuel economy is worse that the original Bridgestones when they were almost bald! They are Black. Handling is destroyed, fuel economy is impacted negatively and Grip is poor.

Excellent – I work with tyres and suspension for a living and I can say without any reservation that if properly maintained with regard to pressure and alignment this tyre is easily one of the best performers I have used. My vehicle is driven both in town and highway conditions in all weathers. This tyre has performed admirably whether it be heavy cornering… Read more

at speed or towing a one tonne camper trailer for distances in excess of 2000km on country roads. Excellent grip, good wear characteristics.

Have had 235/45R17 on my Fairmont for nearly a year and have had no issues.

Highly recommended. Cannot say I have anything I don't like about this tyre.

Bad – I won't be buying these again a they are too expensive for problems encountered. Despite long wear overall. my XR8 wore these out on the edges well before the centres, despite running at 36psi. Long wear and reasonable grip which seems to make them good value for money. Also, asymmetrical pattern makes rotations to all four wheels possible. Two… Read more

tyres developed splits after around 10,000k's. Dealer replaced them on pro rata basis but I still outlayed more money for replacements. Also they are noisy as they wear down and develop uneven wear patterns.
