DVG Melville

We were well looked after by Adrian, his communication was excellent plus he diagnosed the issue spot on, car is now all fixed and back on the road, we were very happy how the warranty claim was handled plus the service.
I purchased a 2nd hand 200 series off these guys and have.had.nothing but electrical dramas with it. Got the extended car warranty with it which isn't worth.the money paid or the paper it is written on. If you want to purchase a lodged up lemon vehicle with an expensive good for nothing premium extended warranty, go see the crew at Melville Hyundai.
Don’t deal with this dodgy dealership – Carplace bought my 200 series rego 1hgh987 for 99,000 selling for 110,000 we traded it in for a prado which had 1 year rego. When we got the transfer papers we also got some new rego papers that requested payment in 1 month so they’ve cancelled the rego on the prado we bought. Eddie the finance guy got us a loan with torque finance which was… Read more
11.43% after we got the car we rang rac and was quoted 7.20 and my wife rang torque finance to ask us why it is so high the finance lady said it’s because Eddie put us down as high risk when I’ve never in my life defaulted on a loan and she said that if they put you as high risk they get an extra bonus the difference between the percentage rates over the life of the loan is $11760 so be very careful if you deal with him.
What would you do? – $16400 for a 9 year old car and get this...byo windscreen wipers! Part of the negotiation with a very smooth smiling manager was that we fix wiper blades (completely 2 blades perished). Yes I agreed to it as I needed a car. My husband came the next day, bought wipers and standing outside Melville Hyundai (on a June rainy day) put them on. Cost… Read more
was $35. Really Melville?? You couldn't put wipers on ....obviously we had spent too little money with our $16400. Car was presented with a rough clean up by the actual sales person I first saw ( he was nice) instead of a detailed clean. I can go back for one...(more time and fuel of course)... and Mr Smooth Smiling manager was kind enough to give free fuel ( although tank was nearly full anyhow). When I mentioned wipers to him saying I thought that was a bit rough...his response was "well you wanted $600 off" the premium price they were asking for a 9 year old i30. Hence moral of the story...if you want a valued customer experience go to Midland Hyundai, far better no matter who you are or what you are buying.
Breach of Contract + Shocking Customer Service – Traded in my top condition BMW M3 F80 with a professional detail and interior clean, and a full tank of fuel for a Holden SSV Ute, I live in NSW so I had to wait over a month for the car to be delivered from Perth. When the car eventually showed up: - Car delivered on side of road near my apartment, when I went to turn on the car there was no… Read more
fuel, completely drained and would not turn over.
- Had to leave car unattended on side of road and get a lift from the truck driver to the nearest fuel station, purchase fuel cans and a small amount of fuel just to turn the car over and get it into my garage.
- When I parked the car in my garage I noticed the paintwork was a mess, swirl marks, dents, paint fades and scratches are all visible all over the car.
- I paid a lot of money for the extras including LIFETIME Paint protection.
- The interior fabric is falling apart from the seams on the driver side door, not pictured on carsales.
- I have taken it to get a blueslip so I can register the vehicle in NSW and have been informed it has a broken engine mount and will cost in excess of $500 to fix and make roadworthy. I was informed they perform a 100 point check on the mechanical condition of the car, complete lie.
- I’ve called, emailed and have spoken with one rep who works in the call centre who advised he would pass onto his manager “Ryan”, still haven’t heard anything in 5 days.
Have lodged a complaint with the finance company and they are investigating, have provided all necessary documents and videos showing the shocking paint condition, empty fuel tank and poor interior fabric condition on drivers door.
Stay away from these guys, they will pressure you into buying the extras including tint, paint protection, warranty etc… but they won’t actually do any work on the car, just dumped it on the truck and sent away.
DON'T BUY CARS HERE – To start with, this dealership has to be renamed as "Don't buy a car from this place". I would give this dealership the worst ever to deal with and would not even consider giving 0 stars. I have lodged a complaint with the consumer protection of WA. Do not do business with this dealership, STAY AWAY Lies and Fake Promises are something they… Read more
actually good at.
Dan Richards(Boss), Ryan Hansen(Manager) and Ray Robinson(Sales Person) don't care about customers satisfaction. I deeply regret doing business with them and CarPlace Melville.
They charged me for something that they didn't do(repair work) and after asking for receipts multiple times they told me they forgot to do it and had to refund.
They charged way over for shipping the car from WA to Melbourne and once I found out they charged more and confronted them after checking the receipts, they refunded me that after you have no idea of the calls I made and emails I had to send.
They said and promised and even advertised that the car didn't go under any modification, But no it was not the truth. It failed roadworthy here in Melbourne. Then had to make many many calls and emails to get it cleared.
Now comes the best part. They said they've sent me the full-service history of the car. when I received the car, no service book was there. when asked, their answer was "Oh sorry, Dan took it out and it's on his desk and we will send you an express post" Guess what, once again after calls and emails and msgs, they sent me the service book, but it wasn't the one for my car, it was the service book of another car.
I bought the car on 12/11/21, the car was delivered on 8/12/21 and today's date is 14/2/22 and guess what I still haven't received the service book.
The amount of stress that I had to go through dealing with this dealership is not unimaginable.
Handballing, blaming others within the team is something they do the best, don't fall for it.
Oh, How can I miss Mr Ray Robinson- I requested him to send me photos of the car, and other things and he didn't do it even after many calls and emails and msgs, So I started to deal with Ryan, Guess what the next day when I called Ray for an update he literally was rude on phone and did not want to deal with me anymore because I spoke with Ryan and hung up the call straight away.
There's still a lot more in the story, but I will finish it here.
Worse service ever – Car place Melville; worse service and support ever received! can't believe staff aren't reviewed or checked, ryan the gm and Courtney in sales couldn't have the decency to advise, call back, be honest, shift blame quick enough, follow up promises and it just goes on and on. even accc had the same results. they'll screen your calls. don't bother going there to begin your own nightmare.
Car Place Melville Poor Service – Purchased a vehicle from Car Place Melville which is part of the DVG group. Within one week of purchasing the vehicle and being assured of its amazing condition via their workshop report the car was shuttering on breaking. After an independent vehicle inspection it was discovered the breaks were unroadworthy amongst other issues. Car Place agreed… Read more
to fix the issue . I received MINIMAL communication to say the least for 5 months! I had to relentlessly call them to find out of any updates. My calls were ignored for weeks at a time. Finally I was sent a pic of my dash via text by their manager to say the gearbox had blown??? However assured my car had not been driven! When asked for a report I was denied! I was offered my money back as they assured me it was beyond repair! Within a week my vehicle was for sale in their car yard for a higher price!
Poor customer service – My company bought a new hyundai and when I went to pick up the sales left me waiting for 45 minutes with no explanation or apology. The car was sitting in the showroom the whole time. I got up to leave and all of a sudden the sales appeared to hand me the keys to a car with dirty windows.
Poor Service – I ultimately purchased a C4 Citroen Grand Picasso in July 2019 - beautiful car to drive. Despite a time and date arranged to inspect the vehicle and being told "it was in pristine conditon" the car was not ready - not washed not detailed and parked three deep in the car yard. It had a broken boot strut and a smashed in rear right bumper an… Read more
numerous minor dints. I had to ask how to start the vehicle ( its a keyless start) and was not shown how to drive this model when I went alone for a test drive. I was told that the car had been detailed - a lie. The car in fact was never detailed only superficially wiped- stated by a private car detailer of 32 years experience who spent three hours detailing the inside of the car at my expense. My detailer found lollies toys remains of food under the car seats as well as spilt drinks etc. I was pressured into purchasing an extended warranty by DVG Melville only to discover from Citroen Perth that in fact my vehicle already has an extended warranty until May 2021 - something DVG could have checked as they ordered new strut parts from Citroen Perth prior to me collecting the vehicle. I had asked DVG Melville about the original warranty and was told it went until 2020 January - a lie. I paid for the car in full before the end of financial 2019 year as asked to do by the sales manager - while the broken rear boot struts were replaced- and I collected the car on August 31/2019 - when I asked for a weeks extension on the 3 month used car warrenty due to my mother's death this was refused - despite being told if I paid in full before the car was roadworthy I'd be "looked after". On the vehicle's first service by my mechanic it was found that the brake rotors rear and front had been skimmed and were only just legal - when I contacted DVG Melville I was told bad luck just legal is enough. It cost me $840 to have the rotors replaced. Perth Citroen state that a Citroen's rotors should never be skimmed. My mechanic also found the front lower control bushes ( arms ) were damaged beyond repair - they were in fact torn. When I contacted DVG Melville I was told that no mention was made of this in their mechanical report therefore it didn't exist. My mechanic suggested I contact Citroen and indeed Perth City Citroen are replacing these under the extended warranty. Both my mechanic and Perth Citroen state that the torn control arms would have been evident in July 2019 when I purchased the vehicle. I could continue but will just add that numerous and I mean numerous calls were/are never returned, after appoinments were made I'd be left waiting over forty five minutes and I'm still waiting to have touch up paint work completed on an inside door. Ive rung seven times about this. Lack of respect for the consumer, lack of honesty and really no intergrity at all - that sumes up DVG Melville. I enjoy driving my car but have just loathed every minute of contact Ive had with DVG Melville due to poor service and not being able to believe a word they say!
